Mr. Douglass, ever since I was 6, I’d always been self conscious of my height. As someone who has been 2”6 throughout my formative years and to this day as a 36 year old man, I’d always felt like my height was an obstacle rather than a quirk. The Pi estimating one works, if the lines are as far apart as the hotdog the odds of each hotdog intersecting a line are proportional to it's angle which should be completely random.
Since there's exactly π radians before it's basically back to where it started(since it's the same either way up) the odds of it landing intersecting a line are approximately 1/π.
Obviously though this only really works for hypothetical infinitly thin hotdogs, but for an approximation it does work.

The hotdog thing has to do with the fact that hotdogs land at random angles (or rotations), which affects the probability that any given hotdog will intersect one of the parallel lines. The hotdog is essentially the diameter of an imaginary circle.
