7:50 wait so why are you talking about this as if it is special feature of mid drives? you know this can be installed on hub motor bike also? i know it's kinda rare but that doesn't mean it's not possible.
I love mine. Unfortunately, the county I live in has banned this class of bike from most trails. Its still super fun to tool around town and on flat trails in the area. I've only taken it on some dirt roads and a little single track in some motor-freindly areas. Worth every penny and super fun to ride.
Do you have any info on the long-term performance of the Moro 5? I am curious to find out if Yamaha makes a reliable and trouble free E-Bike before I get one.
Hi Peter. Nice bike, and the weight looks good. I have one which is only 15kg with the battery removed, and I can lift it onto my roof carrier. That’s why weight is important to me.
Do you guys still offer a 2nd battery with the purchase? I'm trying to pick from this one and another model and that second battery is a deciding factor?
i think front hub motor makes much more sense for offroad because then the bike is basically awd and we know those do really well offroad and when climbing steep hill but i do agree that this is a really cool bike.
@@zanbright7801 I did put a 29" on 27.5 shock no problem! Bought base model 2222,00 out the door! I've been biking since the 60's and do my own repairs!

Many bicycle manufacturers have moved away from model years and simply list models. I'm not sure if they're not making them, or if there are just enough of them in stock at dealers, that they're "skipping" a model year. I would think that most people don't think of going to their power sports dealers to buy bicycles, but I'll dig into it, and when I test the e-bike listed on the Yamaha website now, I'll have an answer.
I wonder how deep Yamaha wants to wade into the bicycle market. I'm not sure if this is the first of many future offerings, or if this is a test of the market. We'll see!
Im very upset i bought mine in may ydx moro 07 silver se paid 6399 extra 2 year warranty and extra battery i just figured voltaire in oregon said they had nothing to do with rebates and to contact Yamaha. I even offered voltaire to buy another blue one. No luck. Contacted yamaha figured they would honor being yamaha no luck. So i guess i just wasted a bunch of money ill never get back retail just went to hell.
I just bought a gasgas ebike (spanish company). Price reduced by about half which was awesome. I noticed after I purchased it the price dropped a further $200. Bike store honored the price drop and refunded me 😊. With the money I saved I'm purchasing the Moro 5 for $2300! Win win!! Plus it comes with a five year warranty!
Arrived @ dealership with CASH to BUY! Salesman dings the bell & admits that's all he knows! Then admits ZERO support / service staff!! What a joke!! Now looking @ Trek & Bulls brand lines.
I went to a dealer yesterday and was told the same thing. I was told that if i bought it, I’d have to take it to a LBS, but would have to take it to them for warranty work even though they don’t have a bicycle mechanic. Unfortunately, they are the only Yamaha dealer in my area. I’m still tempted to buy one but online if it be delivered to my address. Yamaha should have sold their bikes in LBS instead of power sport dealers because it seems more of a hassle to them to sell e-bikes.

They have been making e-bikes since 1993.
They have a five year warranty if you buy one now. If you can find one still

I've been around, owned, and ridden a number of e-bikes. This one is the most impressive. It's not going to be for everyone, but it's excellent!
Just ordered a Moro 7 can’t wait
Nice!!

Cool Electric Bicycle review, thanks!
Thank you for these details. It's helpful.
looks like an interesting frame. I wish there's a water bottle holder on it though.

It’s for more serious riders . Go to a bike park and find out why you may or may not want a serious sport bike 😎
No hub motor please
Great review!
What are the orange o-rings on the front forks for?
Setting sag.
I would be interested if the bike can be transformed in a mullet. I think it will be great with 29" tire in front. 😁
It cannot

Am I mistaken or is Yamaha not selling these in Canada in 2024? Their website just shows a couple street models.

is it water proof
Is the frame aluminum or carbon fiber?
Look at the joints. Carbon is smoother looking and doesn't have welds. Carbon is too easily damaged for some people. Not an issue for others
Aluminum
If only i would have one... Eastern Europe Romania
How much?
Up to date pricing can always be found on the website. www.yamaha-motor.ca/en/off-road/ebikes/mountain
I checked the site and they only have 27.5? What about a 29er model? Thanks

Just to be clear, what you're describing is clearly not Maclean's, where I filmed this. Their team is excellent.
You made absolutely no sence at all!!!!!

54 pounds, not quite light in my book
You're in you're 20's? Really!? Wow.
Oh… no…. Not in my 20’s at all!🤣
PETER LOW, YOU EXAGGERATE,, THERE IS NO NEED FOR IT.
