I also did taekwondo when I was in middle school but quit when I only got red belt. Ngl getting black belt is a hell amount of practice (as a kid) , but this guy pulled it off. Shu always surprise us with stuff he can do, but yall will prob down bad for him with him literally breathing

I stopped at black belt 1 too, the price for the tests were getting kinda nutty and i was 11-my parents are not gonna drop another $300-$400 for black belt the sequel
I stopped at brown belt because yeah black belt promotion kinda expensive for me...
The ichidan is the first black belt: after the red one you get a black belt (tradicionally, tho some schcools add a lot more of colors too). You need a year to change from the red belt to the black one and so on (some people takes more than 3 or 5 years because the exam is expensive and hard). After the ichidan, you get the second range which gives you the approval to teach TKD (a saboni). When you reach 4th black belt, you're a higher range teacher (a tagoni, if I recall it right) and so on (I don't know the other ranges but I believe the highest is 9th belt and it takes from 25 to 36 years to get there, depending if you miss an exam and they're constant in ur TKD school). With that being said, Shu being a black belt makes sense because of the dicipline you need to get there 😳

Wow it’s exactly me. I got the first degree of black belt and left when it started to become that I would have to help out teaching or just leading warmups. Bro I was like 14 and had no confidence I wasn’t ready for that, I just enjoyed being so in shape.

I got a brown belt in taekwondo which was two belts below black belt. I gave up bc I wasn’t really into it anymore but black belt is kind of hard. I remember watching kids doing their evaluations. If you weren’t committed you’d probably fail.
