How unexpected! I thought it was clickbait! I wondered most of the way through. Wishing you the best adventures and mostly safety and fun!
How exciting! Good for you! And please keep creating content. You have inspired a 60 year old empty nester with a heart horse!
I’m so sad that you had to re-home your animals, especially your cats 💔 But best of wishes on your adventure! I hope it’s every bit as wonderful as you always dreamed it would be. Safe travels, and happy trails ❤️
same, the freedom the cats once felt by having land to roam and so much space will never be the same if they end up as house cats.
Same here. So sad they had to find new homes for their kitties. 😔
As a fifty-something subscriber, GOOD FOR YOU for living your dream! I can't wait to see what unfolds for you.
I met my wife through a horse site fell in love married 17 yrs..we dreamed of moving to Montana with the horses looked at property ...then one morning she told me I dont want to be married anymore. I was stunned...I asked her about the horses she said :sell them: I was in disbelief. Unknown to me at the time she had met someone else and was going to move to FLA. I was left with a farm and horses ..financially I tried to keep it going but I was almost fully broke. I had to sell the horses.....It was 5 yrs ago and I've climbed back up...I dont know what ever happened to my ex...God only knows.... but I do miss my horses the most They both were Appaloosa's and were my best friends..........Life is unpredictable....I wish you the best.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. What a crappy thing to do to a person. I hope your new life is great!👍🏻
I am so sorry this happened to you. Life throws curveballs, but sounds like you are turning it into a grand slam, eventually.
Life 's so unpredictable and so unfair sometimes. I wish you to keep hope despite all of that. You seem to hold on : bravo! Good luck for the future and keep going on day after day. One day after the other one. I hope you will find out how to be with horses again ! 😇🤞🏼✌🏼🐎🐎🍀🤍From France. 🇫🇷
Same thing happened to me, but it was a 20 year relationship. Husband abandoned me, the farm, everything. Thank God I was able to hold on to my horses and the farm! That was 10 years ago...and I'm so much better off now. I wish you the best of luck! 🐴
@@suzibee9796 Thanks for taking the time...I am happy to hear you made it...Your a true Horse gal!.......I failed and have to live with it.......Its been tough for me for I have no family in life anymore...only the Good Lord has been by my side...so I guess I am still loved. all the best!
As someone who only dreams of something like this and someone who has gone on a fair few camping trips with her pony I wish you the absolute best of times.
Take photographs take videos and enjoy every single moment of this incredible lifetime journey. Xxxxx
Hi I am a canadian 71 yrs of age woman who has been following for at least 3 yrs since I found you. I'm super excited for you all. Although I'm sad that maybe you won't post much on your journey. Has anyone seen Jake that's traveled from Utah to east coast and will be heading back soon? He's doing it to show the world the power of the mustang to encourage people to adopt or buy.
Just him and his mustangs, no camper, no vehicle, no crew. Mainly strangers have offered places to stay and meals across the country. Amazing!
yes I have heard of him but in a negative light. I heard his horses were overused and broken down but still continues his venture. If true then how sad that is.
@@rum4485 horses are wild animals they probably “overwork” themselves day to day to find a safe place to sleep or a place to drink, if you think about it horse have to roam all around to survive and thrive
@@Katheryn_c i understand what you are saying but with wild horses they do roam to eat, drink etc. However they are not saddled, carrying a rider and pack supplies. That puts a burden on horses and does take a toll on them.
@@rum4485 it can but horses are really great at caring things that’s why they use them for pull carts, and that’s also why they used them to pull peoples food and water back in the days
If you think this is harsh then look back at when people didn’t have cars, all they could use was a horse
And yes a horse does have to roam to find water most of the time and same with finding a good spot that they can actually get enough grass to survive off of, horses in the wild can travel up to 20-50 miles a day to actually maintain getting food, water, etc.
If you want to check my facts then do so look up,” how many miles a day does a wild horse usually roam a day” and you’ll find
For comparison, while moving between their grazing pastures and water sources, wild horses can cover as many as 20 to 50 miles every day. Throughout their days, wild horses mostly get slow, steady exercise that's punctuated with short bursts of more vigorous activity
Your welcome
Go for it!!!
In the early 90s, right after I graduated High School in OH where I was born, I decided to move to Alaska.
My dream was to ride my one horse, and pony another the entire way.
My dad had challenged me and told me that if I decided to do it, he would pay for all the expenses of getting there plus a moving van to deliver all my belongings.
Long story short, I decided not to do it, because I just couldn’t see how I would get it done in a timely manner, and I was quitting one job to leave, but didn’t have a source of income lined up once I got there.
Since then, I left AK for a time. I traveled from AK to AZ, CA, UT, MT and WY and worked at dude ranches with the horses. I had one horse that was born while I was in High School and he went with me for the entire adventure. I eventually settled down back in AK and raised a family in the backcountry with a man I met who was a registered guide. We had up to 28 horses for pack trips when our children were small. In 2006, we lost the ability to take non resident moose hunters in the area where we had our lodge, so we ended up selling off or slowly losing all the horses to old age over the next 10 or so years; except my one special guy. I eventually had my final “ride” in the sunset on a beautiful October evening in 2021, at the ripe age of 32 with my heart horse.
I still have 4 other horses that I phased in and I’ve started under saddle. I use them for horseback riding instruction, at a local barn.
Now that my children are grown and starting their own families, I throw out the idea to my husband just about every spring that we should do exactly what you are doing.
I am a certified trail guide and riding instructor, and even at the age of 52, I still have a dream to continue to travel around and work at dude ranches, church camps etc.
My husband is also a carpenter as well as a guide, so it wouldn’t be difficult for him to find work while we were traveling, but he just can’t see the vision quite yet.
I admire you for doing your adventure. Once you both decide to have children, often the time and energy it takes to raise a family for another 20 years (I homeschooled for 21 years) can put dreams and passions on hold for the benefit of the entire family.
Few people I’ve met have the memory bank of adventures I can recall. You will also be doing the same; both awesome and challenging ones. And you will learn so much about yourself along the way that will make you both much better parents.
I wish you all the best!!’
Your choices in your life are incredibly amazing to me !!! You were in the end, and happily seemed to be happy together with your children and your horses. Above all to be a solid couple. This is the most important thing and to be together always gave you joy and lots of strength to overcome the difficulties of life. I admire this ! Lots of love from France.
Wow! How exciting! Trailmeister is a great resource for trails, camping with horses in every state.
US Rider is a good insurance to have as they will tow truck, trailer and horses, locksmith, fuel, jump starts, tires. They also have list of emergency vets and stables nationwide. The caveat is if you're in BFE where there are 50 people in 200 miles, it might take awhile.
Get a trailer aid to change flats on truck/trailer without a jack or unloading. Impact wrench, air compressor, starter/charger.
It’s kind of amazing if you come through Missouri come and stay for a few days we my husband and I have lots of room for your horses and your dog 😂no charge.we have 3 horses
I'm so proud of you!!! No matter what happens, it's gonna be worth it!
That is amazing! My husband and i took our 3 kids out of school, rented out our house, boarded my horse at a friends, and traveled the US for 6 months in 2023. Best experience ever!! We discovered so many equine friendly places that the next plan is to bring my girl with us😁.
Oh yes, when you get those pulls, they are just the thing that has to be done. Dreaming like that can be lonely and no on else will care about the dream like you do but I have found when I follow those big deep inner pulls to go after and do something, it seems to also end up benefitting others in some way as well. Also, you hear it all, the naysaying, the doubters the people who are stuck themselves and for whatever reason can't or won't imagine differently. But the dream is life's art, saying create me, I need to be breathed into the world. We sold everything, took the fam and moved over an ocean in suitcases and it was liberating like nothing else. And it opened up all sorts of other things to dream, be pulled toward and do. Amazing! hope you smash it.
So beautifully said! And I too say: Go for it! You Will never regret it!
I’m one of your earliest suscribers and cannot believe it 🙏🏼 So glad for you both! Better doing it now than later. Trust your path ❤️☺️☀️
I hope your horses are physically able to do this for you. It takes years of prep for most horses to get in condition for going long distance excursions almost daily. It not like 'in the movies'.
Way to go! Living the dream you always wanted is awesome, so glad your husband is willing to live that dream with you. Have fun, see a lot of beautiful sites and be safe!
Congratulations on embarking on your dream! I dreamed of travel adventures before starting my family, and I made those dreams come true. After having three children and soaking up all the joy of being at home raising babies and toddlers, I dreamed of traveling through Italy (where my ancestors are from) with my kids - and I’ve done it - twice! Live your dream now, but always remember that in the next season of life you can dream another dream! You’re never too old to keep dreaming! Go for it! Safe travels!
There also is a place in Missouri it’s called North Fork it’s a horse campground they do have stalls and trail to ride is really nice I think u all will love it or you all can go to Eminence it is very beautiful and has endless trails.
That's awesome. I read a book about a lady who did something similar, by herself. She didn't make it across the country for family reasons but it was cool reading her story.
@@blairjekyll7648 I think it might be called The Ride of Her Life. It looks pretty good.

Sounds like a grand adventure! 👏
So cool! Also, I love your film style, enchanting and whimsical yet also with a rooted and realistic tone.
Good luck
Wow! That sounds so much fun! Going to miss the barn, was really looking forward to rebuilding the barn but I'm so happy for you guys!❤❤
Congratulations for taking the opportunity to live your dream.
As you said, there is a society of people who are also living the same dream &
You will be supported.
I'm so happy for you.
Come down to miles city montana. You can park your horse trailer with living quarters at the fairgrounds here.
I did something similar when I turned 40. Much of it was extremely hard, but the things i learned and the amazing experiences were worth it all.
Did another huge risky move, giving up everything except what I could fit into suitcases at 68 and its been absolutely wonderful.
Wishing you the best and will be jealously following your story.
Sounds exciting! I became a nomad a year ago but board my horse in a ranch for retired horses. Maybe I should think about returning to North America, getting a horse trailer with living quarters and doing that too!
I’m so excited and happy for you ALL!!! Enjoy this and adventure!! Keep us updated!! ❤️
This sounds so cool, you seem happy. I’m happy for you 5 !❤
Praying for your great adventure!! Blessings!!
Y'all gotta venture up to Alaska 🤠👍and come visit us (me & my horse little man, btw who looks just like Tucker!) anyways come to alaska, kenai peninsula (our town is soldotna...) we have huge horse community here!
I've been born and raised Alaskan cowgirl. And if u wanna ride cross country then u definitely must come up here to check out the absolute horse and rider beauty that is trails and exploring this last frontier (aka AK LOL)
HUGE FAN. SONETHING TO THINK ABOUT EH?
AND WE WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACTUALLY MEET YALL.
ur dream vision spoke to me in so many ways bcuz I personally have a dream similar to yours... But since I was about 10yrs old (I'm 36now) I have dreamt discussed researched and planned to attempt the challenge or dream of MINE is to find sponsorship locally and ride across the peninsula to anchorage .... Omg I've gone thru old maps new maps my dad is a retired hunting guide so we've definitely discussed possibilities... But to be honest without my dad alongside me, I question my ability to manage the treacherousness. The switchbacks. The truth is just need a push in the confidence and ur story of the dream definitely reinforce my distant dream of crossing the kenai peninsula horseback from Homer to anchorage. Of course my dad is still with me on life but damnit if I wish he could still get around like he used to ... I had a real moment of "concern and truth" the day I found myself having to assist saddle my father's horse for him. . Xoxoxo

I hope Carmella sees this and takes you up on your invitation! If I had the property I would be asking the same thing!
This is amazing, and I hope you are able to do that one day! Right now, not sure where the wind will take us but I will keep that in mind!!
It's a shock when you realize that your parents really are getting old. Mind are both gone now, and I miss them. ❤❤❤

LOVE IT! Good on you both for following your dreams! A great example for everyone to follow. ❤ (P.S. We have lots of horse trails and two are in riding distance from my farm here in Live Oak!)
Yes girl! Yes yes yes. So happy for you both! Let's live life, while we can ❤
If you need somewhere to stop in south west Missouri, you're always welcome on my property for free! We've got a mini home, camper vans and a pasture you can borrow (just has two miniatures who get along with everyone)
This will be such an amazing adventure and still good for business. If you haven’t thought about it get a portable air compressor with a lug nut attachment and some truck tire Slime. I got a compressor with slime which is great but then found out I physically can loosen the lug nuts on my truck to change a tire. So now I need an air compressor as well to switch out the tires.
I admire you for going after your dream.. Best to you all! Can't wait to see the videoes of your new life on the road!
