More like 5K above sea level. Cusco sits in 3K with the "Hills" [Mountains] as a backdrop. Was able, through a charity organisation to travel up & meet local alpaca farmers a couple of years ago. A Beautiful Landscape
@4:44 for those goal cards, maybe the reason they have to be stored and not used is because those cards seem to reward you with more points? you need to store 6 goods, but can use them and you get 8 points vs jen needing only 3 goods but she can't use them for 7 points.
certainly. the issue isn't that they function differently... the problem is that they look exactly the same, so you can't tell how they work without double checking the rules, which is poor iconography
I understand why these games are printed the way they are, but they really should offer transparent sticker sheets as an add-on so you could sticker your own wooden discs as an upgrade. (Official art, and all that).
I played twice and a like it !!! .... but we had a problem to remember player order. quite often only one person only asks if they intend to buy a building and we do the rest on our own. We can make sure that the robots work in turn, but in a few moments we lose ourselves over our own board and ask again if it is a new turn. Someone also has such problems?
we play simultaneously most of the time too, and occasionally i'll be done almost instantly while jen is still thinking, and i start thinking about my next turn, and then things can get out of whack :)
Richard are you fancing FISH AND CHIPS? XD Sorry i was just listening without watching a sound like it instead of fishing chips :P Thanks for your videos!
Not yet, comes out Q1 2018. Although there may start to be some copies floating around after Essen Edit: Q1 2018 in North America, picked up by Renegade games
I love you, dude; you're awesome. I just have to offer you some unsolicited, constructive criticism... Write a script. Please. Pretty please. I don't know of a polite way to tell you, and hell, it isn't even my place; you can do your channel however you want to (I'll still watch it)... But I find myself getting incredibly confused when you think out-loud about ALL of your possible next-moves against your imaginary player. Take what I say with a grain of salt; I may be in the minority. I just know that I enjoy channels like : "Take Your Chits" and "Pair of Dice Paradise" much more than "The Dice Tower" because those channels are less off-the-cuff. I avoid "The Dice Tower." Not because Tom doesn't know what he is talking about, (he does know what he is talking about; he is very knowledgeable) but because he just rambles on as if he has no social skills (maybe he fits a stereotype and I'm being too critical... maybe not) But you, Richard, you have that magic something. You have the charisma and enthusiasm to capture an audience without a script... You just have a hard time holding on to that attention Without the script. Please, don't hate me for being a jerk and offering my opinion when it wasn't asked of me. I do love you and I love your show. I just see how it could be improved and I'm shutting up now because... well, maybe I am the one that should have written a script...
Don't you think that is Rahdo's charm? I mean the unscripted total feel of how the game plays. Not debating on your comment :D, however, I feel that is the attractive part of these run-throughs. :)
Isn’t that the charm of Rahdo...its like being with a buddy at the table. Despite his some times erratic delivery, I still always, without a doubt, know whether it’s a game I want to play or not. I can’t say I ever get that feeling from many of the DT reviewers. In Richard we trust...most of the time...😉
I think that's what makes rahdo's approach unique...he gives you an idea of the thought process you'll go through on a turn of the game. You get a taste for what it FEELS like to play the game. I love it, because it helps me understand what kind of decisions I'll make when I play a game.
I agree with others that the slightly erratic/frantic stream of thought processes during the gameplay is what makes me understand how the game plays. The only part I would like to change a bit is the start of the videos. Richard has a tendency to want to explain every detail of his first move, which inevitably requires him to explain half the game before making that first move. This basically means sitting down and explaining the entire game beforehand, which isn't what he/we are going for with runthroughs (I believe). Instead, I would suggest maybe mentioning some options without going into detail, and just making the first move with only a good explanation of the selected move. All will become clear in the coming turns as different aspects of a game will be used (and explained *when used*). It is much easier to follow explanations as they become useful than it is to have everything explained beforehand.
If you are coming here for scripted content you are in the wrong place buddy. I love Rahdo's gameplay feel, going through all possible options and giving a really good feel of the game. Gives a good insight to the game's different strategies. I'm not looking for a script for the perfect game, I want to see how it plays. Also. It's a little rude telling someone how you want their videos done. Take it or leave it. Don't like his style? Plenty of other reviewers to watch.
What a beautiful box and I find the art quite attractive and pleasing, but I personally just wish the theme came through with the same flavor.

Is that an actual alpaca, or two guys in a costume?
Plot twist: there is no such thing as an alpaca, just guys in costumes.. :o

agreed, thanks for the run through, looks fun and it's on my wishlist. my wallet curses you rahdo!

There is a lot of chit going on in this game.

If Jeff Minter were a board game designer......
Is Altiplano at retail, yet? Can't seem to find it.

Mine arrives on the weekend. It's definitely out already in Europe. My copy is from my retailer's restock this week.
Ha... Is there such thing as a vegetarian friendly game? hehe
