I can’t believe, when Lena Heady, went to a convention, no one wanted her autograph because of her portrayal in this show, she didn’t get mad, it didn’t even bother her, I loved her even more hearing that and I would of loved an autograph, people tend to forget to hate the character and respect the actor/ actress.

It's infuriating she didn't win an Emmy for her role as Cersei. Looking back, she was one of the main pillars of the show. She deserved way more recognition.
All of the Lannisters were played to perfection.
Best actress easily. Her and Joffrey got robbed of recognition and adequate screen time. They did a wonderful job.
To be fair without all the production values, costumes, music and cgi the acting would get way more recognition. On its own it is emmy worthy but got steals all the other awards so it must leave some for the other shows.
The best character in the history of television. The Lannister family is the most complex and interesting family to ever exist in any show or movie and Cersei is who made that family so special. Lena Headey is incredible and deserves multiple Emmys.

Is being wicked, cruel, and foolish considered strong? Tywin didn't trust her with ruling the kingdom because he knew how stupid his daughter was. She tried to make up for it with wickedness, but the failure to learn from her mistakes doomed the Lannister house.
Strong? She was unfaithful to Jaime with Lancel (of all people) while Jaime was off fighting and suffering in war. Think about that.
Please for the love of everything give Lena an Emmy this year. She’s hardly had any dialogue in season 8 and still managed to command every scene with just her facial expressions.

Cersei, Margaery, and Sansa. They are probably the most amazing women in GoT because they didn't have to be able to swing a sword and have the aid of mystical creatures to gain power. They survived with their wit and cruelty alone. They would do anything to protect their families and themselves.

The Lannisters started as my least favorites, besides Tyrion, and ended up being my favorites. Their actors are amazing and without a doubt did the best job of representing their characters. All of them really embodied what their characters were meant to be and it was so interesting watching them develop on screen. I am only grateful to have been able to come along on that ride and witness it. I will miss this show so much.

Out of everything she did, she was a wonderful mother. She was caring, protective... Even in the end, she didn't care about herself, she cared about her child. She was begging Jamie to save her so their baby would live. It breaks my heart that all of her children (well... Maybe besides the first one) died when they were still young and pure.

It was Robert that really caused Cersei to become a bitter bitch. Cersei was not born completely evil. Robert shunning her for whores and Lyanna's ghost and the prophecy that she would lose her children turned her into a monster.
I can't be the only one who liked Cersei. I could understand her. She was willing to be cruel to protect and secure her family. I think all of us could relate, especially if we lived in a world like Westeros

Everything that prophecy said turned out to be true, and among many other things, it said Cersei would rule until another, more beautiful came to cast her down and take all she held dear. Little did she know that Daenerys was actually the one to fulfill that part of the prophecy. But how could she anyway?

Sympathizing with Cersei was hard because most people just don’t. They see her as the villain but some of us really cared for her. There’s never going to be another Cersei.

@Plo Koon Yeah Tywin was the only reason why the Lannisters were even a dominant house in the first place. As soon as Tyrion killed him it was over for House Lannister. If anything all of his children were just fucking around (quite literally) and being a burden on the family name. He really did everything in his power to make sure the legacy continued... shame.

Lena played this part flawlessly. Cersei had so much depth and was consistently one of the characters I enjoyed watching the most, even through her more cruel moments.
Cersei is my favourite character. I loved how dramatically she played game of thrones. I don't care if she wasn't the "smartest" player, she did what she had to do to survive, and was the most entertaining of them all.
It's funny... I never knew how much I actually loved Cersei until she was gone. Phenomenal acting from Lena, truly. Such a good villain who made Game Of Thrones what it is today. An Icon.

For many years Cersei was my inspiration for living . Despite the evil and horrendous things she did , she taught me to stand for myself and never forget whom I am , the son of a great father who actually loves and respects me for my talents and ambitions. She also taught me the best revenge is success , not via torture or murder, protecting my family line and our one thousand year history is all that matters to me

Cersei was not only the smartest female character but also so real.
I always felt related to her. She was honest with herself. unlike Dany, she knows who she was, her dark side, her flaws. She knows that she wasn't perfect, that people hated her, yet she didn't care.
The show is literally nothing without her.

Dany and Cersei had always been the same, but Dany could not let herself think she just wants power and love of the people was just a proof that she didnt just wanted power like shes holy and wants to help people. Just to show everyone shes better, but first - to herself. Cersei had always known what exactly she wanted and what she really was
To me, Dany always was meant to be a false protagonist (although I don't like how they handled it in season 8 so fast) who thought she was better than her enemies. I also don't think Dany was very smart either. Cersei knew who she was, the audience knew who she was and yet she was always shocking. I felt all the different dimensions of her character. I loved to hate her but there were times where I felt sadness for her.
Agree, Dany treated the people good as long as they loved and obeyed her, or she killed them. People always HATED Cersei, but she "only" killed the people who was a threat to her family.

She was THE Queen. She, at the end, revealed she was the best choice for the Seven Kingdoms. She was the best between everyone claiming the throne: no help from gods, no impossible surviving, no dragons, no coming back from the dead world she has always won thanks to her mind and her attitude for rule. I miss her, she was my favourite character, I've supported her side until the last minute. Without Cersei Game of thrones has no sense anymore: there's no game to play, no throne to claim. She was a very well written character no doubt. But she definitely isn't a good queen. She's vengeful, hateful and cruel. She's never shown even a little bit of empathy for anyone except for her family (except Tyrion, because... he was unpleasant to look at). This is not someone you want on the Throne. (And yes, neither is Daenerys). I hope you didn't misunderstand her character as a role model.

I totally agree. It took a dragon and a massive army to destroy her. She was tough as hell.
If you read the books, Cersei could look a lot more dumber than she actually looks like on the series, because Lena killed the role. However, she was not the best, made a lot of stupid mistakes at planning and scheming, like both Myrcela and Tommen's death, which she loved more than power or the Iron Throne.
Tywin and Brynden Rivers (Bloodraven) were both better than her at the Game of Thrones, and they are not alone is this category. Cersei is an interesting and tragic character, anyways. Props to George RR Martin.

Just finished watching GOT for the 1st time. Lena played her part perfectly. Her eyes, eye brows and flaring nostrils made her such a great villian.

Yes she died. But she died with Jaime at her side and as the last person to ever sit on the Iron Throne, her people probably thought of daenerys as the real threat (let's be real, with good reason) and I'd call that winning. A very bitter win, but a win all the same.

Her complexity, nuance and character.
The fact that she didnt get multiple emmy’s is a crime against humanity.
Cersei wasn't as murderous as everyone makes her out to be. She was a product of her environment, everything she did in the beginning seasons she did to protect her children and her family. Ellaria sand would never have been murdered if she hadn't killed Marcella. The high sparrow and the tyrells wouldn't have been killed had they not tried to use Tommen as a pawn to take the city. She didn't want Ned Stark killed, she knew what a horrible mistake that would be. She wouldn't have tried to kill Tyrion if it wasn't for Joffery's death/Tywins. She knew what Danny was, she warned them what she would do. And she was right. Cersei like a true lioness did what she did to deffend her children and her pride. Forced to marry a womanizing whoring king, after her first born died faced being sold into marriage again with Loras. Constantly being underestimated by her peers and enemies. Am I saying she was Marcia Brady? Absolutely not. She is 100% percent a tragic villian, ruthless to those who would harm her and her own. Her story arch absolutley was one of if not the best of the entire story. Saddly enough the person everyone loved to hate was the only one standing imbetween Danny and her vision of "freeing the world"

tyrion didn't kill Joffrey. I know she had no way of knowing that for sure but logically tyrion wouldn't have killed the one thing he knows she truly loves. There was no proof of him doing it and they literally focused on him without considering who else it could have been.

Queen Cersei is a great character. You hate her, you want her dead, and you want her to suffer but you can also feel sympathy for her on some level too.
She grew up barely having a mother, only had a neglectful father who saw her as a tool, got sold off to Robert Baratheon, being trapped in a loveless marriage with only her twin brother and children to give her love, had to worry about this huge prophecy where all 3 of her kids would die, fearing the “younger more beautiful Queen to cast her aside and take everything she held dear”, and then died in the arms of her brother, who loved her most.
Cersei was a lot of things: ruthless, conniving, petty, arrogant, and selfish but all of that was mainly because of her terrible childhood and not having the right men to care about her much in her life. So tragic.
Cersei was the only character I pretty much understood... no wonder Sansa became a smart leader, because she learnt from the best! RIP HBIC!
She learned more so from Littlefinger. From Cersei she learned the harshness a leader must have to rile without weakness, and from Littlefinger he obtained the ability to remain 2 steps ahead of every player in the game. The result was a Sansa with the strength of a woman and the intelligence of a master of whispers.

I think what I loved most about Cersei story is how beautifully tragic it is that she fights so hard to escape the prophecy but only ends up making it happen faster. She’s trapped inside her own fate and fought so hard to get out but never could, destroying everything around her in the process. Both a terrible person and a loving mother. Sad but epic

Between Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage they carried this show. And I do not ignore the brilliant performances by so many of the cast, but those two were other-worldly in their performances.
She had a life full of suffering. a motherless adolescence, a father who did not fully believe in her and a husband who was too busy with prostitutes from the beginning, the only person able to understand her was Jaime, their love, although he was sick, gave her strength. She loved her children with all her heart and although Joffrey was evil she tried to protect him with all her strength. Her wickedness was actually a mask of a weak woman who really suffered.
I'd never call Cersei weak. She was strong or she wouldn't have survived for so long in game of thrones.
Most true expect the "weak". She was not weak. The circumanstaces of her life have been difficult what lead to suffering what lead like you wrote to wickedness. Weak would have been to give up completly, but she fought like a lion. The Lannisters are portraied in an antagonist way with intend and the Starks as protagonists (however way more complex, multilayered and humanly as usual in media) because this is how storytelling needs to be done to catch as much peolple as possible. Would they portray the story of the Lannisters from a different perspective many would judge a bit differently. Not super symphatic (that is not the point) but more understanding.
Cersei was never, ever weak.
I love her character so much but she burns bridges unnecessarily. She had another sibling that would have understood her much better than Jaime could and that is Tyrion.
Jaime is favored. Though he is under the thumb of Daddy to a certain extent it's nowhere near the amount of control Tywin exerted over Tyrion and Cersei.
I loved Cersei and Tyrion's conversations on the show because in those moments they were siblings. It's amazing that Cersei "hated" him, yet, had some of her best conversations with him.
I only wished we had one more conversation with all three Lannister siblings. We only had one and that was the second episode in season one.
Cersei was The Queen. What an amazing character. I cried when she died.

The part where she talks about her children is a side of her that is so underestimated. Everyone sees the evil things that she has done and yet shes just a mother protecting her children. Really great editing!

Holy shit. I loved this video. Say what u want about the writing this season, I think Cersei had a good ending. The Red Keep collapsing on top of her was poetic and symbolic of the fact that power caused her demise. When Cersei was walking through the destruction and had those flashbacks of her children in black and white,, mannn that hit me right in the feels. Love Lena Headey and Cersei's complexity - amazing work Zurik as usual.

Smart? That's the problem. She always assumed to be "smart" but she was just the textbook definition of a narcissist. Every move she made, every time she schemed, it backfired on her and all the people she held dear just because of her stubborness, bitterness and childish pride. She was literally too malicious for her own good and... as matter of fact, she is linked under the Trope "Stupid Evil", if you look for it. I'm not kidding, google it.

Out of all the female characters in this series, she to me has been the most honestly written and portrayed. Unlike Daenerys, she has been the most consistent in being imperfect, and showing both the humanity and violence in a person.
I have always loved Cersei since the 1st season, especially from the scene where she came to Catelyn and said that she would pray for Bran. She always had one of the strongest dialouges... Although a negative character, but it was worth many positive character. I never cried that loudly in the whole show, when she broke down in front of Jamie and then died😢

I love so much how you juxtaposed the crypt “Jaime, you have to” with “jaime please don’t let me die”. Those lines always hit me so hard because they reveal how in her lowest moments she still instinctively sees him as her knight who’ll fix things, even though both moments come at times where they’ve been estranged.
Cersei was the badass what Dany thought she was!! She was smart, apathetic, she was the strongest and the bravest. She feared nothing and no one. Cersei Lannister will always be my most favorite character of GoT
Just another beautiful video...I must say, Cersei is one of the best characters in television as of recent years...Such a beautiful performance from Lena Headey, of course we will always think of Cersei as cold and ruthless but she encapsulated Cersei's constant paranoia, fear and vulnerabilities which have made her so captivating! It will be quite hard for me to not be able to watch more scenes from her and continue to study such an interesting psychological because, in my honest opinion, Cersei has always been the soul of the show and of course the conflict between good and bad, love and moral...Goodbye to the most humane character on this show and on tv and thank you Lena Headey 💜💜💜
