This is wonderfully nuanced. Most videos of her I've seen begin with her heroic glory and end with her madness in the chronological order but the ominous atmosphere and violence from the beginning then the further look into her "gentle heart" is a beautiful new approach. It makes her story an intriguing rise of a villain tale.
Rewatched this like five times before I realized you reversed the truth scene making it look like Dany didn't let Jon in and then the whole what-if scenario where she goes back to Essos. Wish she did.

You gave me the video I had hoped for, a video that showed a more accurate depiction of her psyche at that part AND how everything was leading up to that- linear literacy. I love how you separated the three different aspects of not just her story, but her personality and led it into the end of the video which shows that through all those moments that were supposed to turn us to accept what was happening on screen- it did not add up with the rest of who she was, regardless of grief and loss. I especially love the cutting between the dialogue of what she could be, aka her father and feared becoming and then how the voices of those she loved pulled her out of it-- keeping her grounded which would have happened had any she been seen as more than a literary tool to start a story line for the hell of it. Your video was long, and in depth and beautifully colored with different viewpoints and emotional moments that just truly gathered together to create what was we never really got to see on screen but it was hinted at. I can finally, finally be at peace with the fandom for someone truly looking past what was given, and piecing together an accurate ending over using the inconsistent writing, to tell the story. You threw it out, and I'm truly thankful because after a year I was beginning to think no one would think of doing so. Thank you.

"Break the wheel" to me always meant at its core to stop the rotation of power and allow for something new. I hate Sam saying "You gave up your crown to save your people, would she do the same?" No, because her giving up her crown would do NOTHING to prevent the White Walkers from coming. Jon swearing the North to Daenerys actually creates a slowly more-unified Westeros that Aegon tried to build to SAVE EVERYONE! But because Sam is pissy about his dad and brother, he just wants to manipulate Jon and paint her as some selfish queen who, apparently, needs to acknowledge Jon as the true heir to stop the White Walkers? So dumb.
If she had only listened 2 herself and taken the Iron Throne in S7, then S8 could have been about the Night King. Her dragons and friends would be alive. We need the Winds of Winter asap. If only they hadn't butchered her character!
No, the main aspect about the GoT universe is that every character does mistakes and everyone is hit by their choices and by life overall. Daenerys is no exception despite being the most ideal character overall. In the series but also very likely not in the books she is going to be queen of the iron thron. This wouldn't fit the the style G.R.R. Martin sees the world. In the west and overall modern world we are too used to one-sided black and white story telling and characterisation and so used to ceratin ways people feel dissatisfied when confronted differently. The last seasons could have been better here and there but it is also not as bad as many judge it.

Beautiful edit! For me, the idea she was 'The Breaker of Chains' went further than her liberating those in slavery. For her personal journey, the breaking of chains meant breaking the shackles of the desire for power, which corrupted her family's name. She would see how the lust to rule would invariably bring destruction. In this video, I feel like we see that self awareness grow within her character. It has a redemptive arc, almost allegorical for seeing generational trauma within a family get brought to an end. Bravo!

This is beautiful. I think by the end of the series many people who readily accepted Dany's fate forgot who she is as a character. I myself started feeling a great disconnect in season 7. It was in season 7 I could tell there was a shift in her character that wasn't driven by the plot or the basis of her character but who DnD wanted her to be. Her going mad wasn't in character for her. Her grief wouldn't allow her to even turn violent like that. The only characters in the series that behaved like a mad ruler was Jeoffrey and Cersei. Viserys was close, but he never ruled.

I love how you show the two faces of the coin of Daenerys the "conquerous, cruel one that we saw in the series finale" and the "gentle merciful one that bloomed in Essos". It also really shows that (for me) she should not have been on the iron throne at the end (or we could have but it would have been a very depressing end, imagine the end of S8 where she kills jon a reigns as a tyran...) bc it's what made the coin flip. I always liked the end of S8 but i also always said she should have stayed in essos and you doing that really was good ! So thanks !
@@crusade5886 after watching the last season of Vikings and seeing Tyrion in your Daenerys tribute masterpiece - I've realized how Benioff and Weiss could give us the Ivar of GOT in the Imp. Both were highly intelligent, ambitious, schemers, both handicaped, both had issues with their closest family, both were kinslayers. Dark Tyrion who served only his interest by manipulating others would have been much better character than the pacifist idiotic wino we got the moment Tyrion was out of that box Varys has hid him in.
This is amazing. I like how you used little scenes/dialogue that you wouldn’t usually see in other tributes. It makes this video unique. The way D&D butchered her character will never sit right with me. They brought up this badass amazing, caring woman for seven seasons just to kill her and her entire team in three episodes because they wanted to go for shock value rather than tell a good story. House of the Dragon doesn’t sound as interesting when you know their entire family is gone hundreds of years later (Jon isn’t a full Targaryen, so he doesn’t count). If HBO knows what’s right for them, they’d revive this story for another two seasons and bring on different writers.
Completely agree. I feel this is a very unique video. Also agree with you on the House of The Dragon, I was excited to begin with but now we know how it ends for House Targaryen I have lost all interest. HBO has obviously seen that the audience rallyed behind Daenerys, the backlash to her ending and alot have left the franchise and are trying to bring them back.

@@darkliz HBO still haven't figured out anything about what those two clowns (known as D&D) did with Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon will be a complete failure when people realize it's not about the rise of the Targaryen house but about the beginning of their end. In HotD, in fact, we will not see the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I (the conqueror), but we will see a subsequent period known as "dance of dragons", basically a civil war between Targaryen, an internal struggle for succession to the throne. And there too we will see a Rhaenyra being bent by grief, loss and betrayal, and despite being the rightful ruler to the throne, she will be killed by her half-brother Aegon II, but only after going crazy. In practice we will have the same treatment with Rhaenyra that Daenerys received, with the only difference that at least there in the end it will be her son (Aegon III) who ends up on the throne. So once again HBO has chosen to bring a story to the screen with a tragic ending, where the just and good ruler eventually goes mad and is killed by the enemy stepbrother. And the Targaryens will continue to carry with them the fame of tyrants tending to madness that they never deserved.
Well, if we're talking about HOTD then Rhaenyra as well was not full Targaryen, she was 1/4 Arryn, her mother was child of Arryn father and Targaryen mother. Jon's problem is not his Stark half but the fact he was raised among Starks as a bastard with no touch with his true family whatsoever. And in his mind he always remained a bastard, he was not Stark same as he was not Targaryen. At least Jon Show was that, it remains to be seen how Jon Books same as Dany Books will play out. What happened between those two in the show is pure D&D, not Martin. I doubt he will go with extinction of House Targaryen. Or Houses Tyrell and Martell also. And Starks too when last three, all with no prospect of having family, are gone. I will give HOTD a chance regardless of GOT outcome. I watched Star Trek prequel series also knowing what future brings.

At least we'll get to see the Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen, first Targaryen badass male onscreen. Also Dance didn't mark beginning of the end for dragon family. They ruled over Westeros for almost as long as they did before the Dance, they finally conquered Dorne, by sword briefly and by marriage permanently, they repelled all Blackfyre rebellions. Their end began when Aegon V wanted to hatch new dragons and Summerhall tragedy happened, then following the prophecies brother-sister marriage took place, Rhaegar was also into prophecies and not to forget the schizophrenic user of Iron Throne, Aerys II. That was their end, not civil war which took place 130 years before Daenerys was born

When Ginger Stark asks "What about the North" an urge comes to hit her right in the Tully face. Never liked Sansa (liked every other Stark, including Bran till S7) and she got the best deal from Dan and Dave.
And the fans destroyed dumb&dumber. There is only the story of Daenerys was interesting and good until the end. Even the end was good for me, cause she needed to avenge Mysandy. She said "dracares" before her beheading. Danny remembers it on drogon and she burns everything. Like her father and Mysandy said. Dracares, there are not innocent people.

Amazing edit, powerful and emotional !! Well done !! I love how you show the two faces of the coin of Daenerys the "conquerous, cruel one that we saw in the series finale" and the "gentle merciful one that bloomed in Essos". It also really shows that (for me) she should not have been on the iron throne at the end (or we could have but it would have been a very depressing end, imagine the end of S8 where she kills jon a reigns as a tyran...) bc it's what made the coin flip. I always liked the end of S8 but i also always said she should have stayed in essos and you doing that really was good ! So thanks !

@@crusade5886 after watching the last season of Vikings and seeing Tyrion in your Daenerys tribute masterpiece - I've realized how Benioff and Weiss could give us the Ivar of GOT in the Imp. Both were highly intelligent, ambitious, schemers, both handicaped, both had issues with their closest family, both were kinslayers. Dark Tyrion who served only his interest by manipulating others would have been much better character than the pacifist idiotic wino we got the moment Tyrion was out of that box Varys has hid him in.
This is amazing. I like how you used little scenes/dialogue that you wouldn’t usually see in other tributes. It makes this video unique.
The way D&D butchered her character will never sit right with me. They brought up this badass amazing, caring woman for seven seasons just to kill her and her entire team in three episodes because they wanted to go for shock value rather than tell a good story.
House of the Dragon doesn’t sound as interesting when you know their entire family is gone hundreds of years later (Jon isn’t a full Targaryen, so he doesn’t count). If HBO knows what’s right for them, they’d revive this story for another two seasons and bring on different writers.

Also agree with you on the House of The Dragon, I was excited to begin with but now we know how it ends for House Targaryen I have lost all interest. HBO has obviously seen that the audience rallyed behind Daenerys, the backlash to her ending and alot have left the franchise and are trying to bring them back.

@@darkliz HBO still haven't figured out anything about what those two clowns (known as D&D) did with Game of Thrones, and House of the Dragon will be a complete failure when people realize it's not about the rise of the Targaryen house but about the beginning of their end.
In HotD, in fact, we will not see the conquest of Westeros by Aegon I (the conqueror), but we will see a subsequent period known as "dance of dragons", basically a civil war between Targaryen, an internal struggle for succession to the throne.
And there too we will see a Rhaenyra being bent by grief, loss and betrayal, and despite being the rightful ruler to the throne, she will be killed by her half-brother Aegon II, but only after going crazy.
In practice we will have the same treatment with Rhaenyra that Daenerys received, with the only difference that at least there in the end it will be her son (Aegon III) who ends up on the throne.
So once again HBO has chosen to bring a story to the screen with a tragic ending, where the just and good ruler eventually goes mad and is killed by the enemy stepbrother.
And the Targaryens will continue to carry with them the fame of tyrants tending to madness that they never deserved.
Well, if we're talking about HOTD then Rhaenyra as well was not full Targaryen, she was 1/4 Arryn, her mother was child of Arryn father and Targaryen mother. Jon's problem is not his Stark half but the fact he was raised among Starks as a bastard with no touch with his true family whatsoever. And in his mind he always remained a bastard, he was not Stark same as he was not Targaryen. At least Jon Show was that, it remains to be seen how Jon Books same as Dany Books will play out. What happened between those two in the show is pure D&D, not Martin. I doubt he will go with extinction of House Targaryen. Or Houses Tyrell and Martell also. And Starks too when last three, all with no prospect of having family, are gone. I will give HOTD a chance regardless of GOT outcome. I watched Star Trek prequel series also knowing what future brings.
@@stefanomodonesi well, Dance of Dragons is much more complicated than only being mirror of Daenerys-Jon story in GOT. At least we'll get to see the Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen, first Targaryen badass male onscreen.
Also Dance didn't mark beginning of the end for dragon family. They ruled over Westeros for almost as long as they did before the Dance, they finally conquered Dorne, by sword briefly and by marriage permanently, they repelled all Blackfyre rebellions. Their end began when Aegon V wanted to hatch new dragons and Summerhall tragedy happened, then following the prophecies brother-sister marriage took place, Rhaegar was also into prophecies and not to forget the schizophrenic user of Iron Throne, Aerys II. That was their end, not civil war which took place 130 years before Daenerys was born
Everything she said came true, she broke the wheel, no ruler after her was born, but made by the council. She changed the world of westros and eastros
