You go blind, it would drive me crazy but here you are doing it like a pro! I think to be a legend for the fromsoft games is a lot of patience. You got that!

I've hesitated to mention this because someone else has probably already pointed it out, but allegedly the term 'Scadu' is pronounced with an H sound, making it 'Shadu' which makes more sense with the Shadowtree theme some form of old English I think, but it was interesting to learn!

John if it makes you feel better, I got the map for this area a while before going there and it really didn't help navigate. The ruins are kind of a maze with lots of vertical criss crosses that don't show on the map. Also, with the furnace golems, I have 55 vig, full fire prelate armor, flamedrake +3, and Flame protect me buff, and they can still 2 shot me. Their fire damage is insane

Yeah those furnace golems give you good shit but they're really difficult. You HAVE to stagger them, which is easier said than done obviously. They really remind me of Tower Knight, from Demon's Souls. And you aren't the only person to struggle with this map, don't worry. XD The Centipriestess is a cool boss.
There is cave where the map is for this area. But how you get to it is water look like water)(water cave in the middle. I don't want give to much away. But you cant get to map from here.
I think the audible "pain" sounds are crits? I think you get crit a lot more often in this DLC then the main game? I don't remember this character making that much noise before.
I hated this boss fight so much, mostly because it felt completely out of place. It's like some half baked Sekiro boss that they never made use of, so they stuck scarlet rot on it and called it a day.
