While I think her mother was wrong to pressure marriage and probably did not lead by example, there are plenty of parents that successfully encourage morals and values . Values that if were followed, would make shows like this obsolete. I am very grateful that my parents encouraged values for me. It saved me from a lot of problems.

It is possible to follow no religion and even to not believe in God or eternal life to be a good person and to possess strong moral principles, to know right from wrong and to live accordingly.

As a general rule, yes. My daughter did say, "Mama," first. At one year old, she does recognize people.
