so after watching your video it appears that the guy i got my saw from tried to install new piston without a ring clamp piston and jug do not appear damaged but both rings broken in half i assume this will require a new piston, correct?
@@RLFinch33 Did the saw get run with broken rings? If so, more than likely they damaged the cylinder. You might not notice damage on the piston if they were seated. The only way to know for sure is to take the cylinder off the piston and inspect it. If nothing is damaged then you can just put new rings on the piston.
Man I just burnt out my saw- thing wont start,, one tank of gas I ran thru it that wasn’t mixed with oil…. Messed me all up - I hope I can salvage it… things brand new practically … this video gives me hope!
I usually recalibrate. Anytime you work on the fuel system or carb it should be done as well. It is a simple process of idling the saw, running full throttle till the high end for about 30 seconds till it drops off then letting the saw idle.
@@rayblaszczak8922 you don’t need a MDG to do the carb recalibration. It is very simple to do. This will walk you step by step how to do it. blog.stihl.co.uk/perform-m-tronic-reset/
Great video. Very helpful and informative.
Has the block been modified under the piston?

Does that saw need to be recalibrated being it is a Mtronic ?

Thank you very much! I do not have one of those MDG machines and have no plans on buying one either, lol
