My grandmother did and also my mom. Totally sucks but they were all I haf. Im sure Sofia watched the kids when Kobe & V went out on date nights, their charity events, tv shows etc. Maybe Sofia had plans and had to cancel them sometimes due to Kobes schedule. If Vanessa Bryant’s mother loses the case, I think she will probably declare bankruptcy so she doesn’t have to pay legal fees. The mother does not have a leg to stand on unless she can produce a contract of employment.
@@angiehier I’m guessing she never really had a good relationship with her mother which is why there is all this tension. If I had the means to help, my mother would not ever be financially strapped. In fact if I were in Vanessa’s shoes and my husband had passed away unexpectedly, I would have asked my mother to move in with me. It would be great emotional support and make the mourning process easier. I just don’t think their relationship is healthy.

All grandparents babysit their grandchildren. Sometimes the grandchildren even live with them, not the other way around where the grandma lives with the grandchildren. The fact that Vanessa has been taking care of her mother for 20 years oh, and letting her live financially free, is wonderful and kind. I'd like to know what the real problem is. Nobody gets paid $96 an hour to babysit their own grandchildren. She sounds terrible is a grandma by even saying that. The kids are not going to want to be around their grandma because of what she's doing to Vanessa Vanessa has recently become a widow and lost a child in addition. Now her mother is doing this? Maybe it's time for her mother to go her own way an order for them to be able to someday come back together. I don't see why she would be owed any money under any circumstances. I'm about the same age as Vanessa's mother and no one has taken care of me my entire life except myself. No man, not the government, not even my parents as I moved out at 17. I worked hard and bought my own home on my own money. Had a child and raised him by myself what no child support. To me it wasn't a big deal I was happy to do it myself. The "whatever reasons" you refer to have been widely reported on over the years and go back to his parents being against the marriage from the beginning. I didn't hear anything about his siblings response. They did not want him to marry someone of another race. It's not funny at all. Kobe Bryant money is also Vanessa's money as his wife and mother of his children so the emphasis on his parents isn't really appropriate here. The "whatever reasons" you refer to have been widely reported on over the years and go back to his parents being against the marriage from the beginning. I didn't hear anything about his siblings response. They did not want him to marry someone of another race. They didn't go to the wedding., didn't show for first grand daughter's birth, etc. Some years later he sued them over an attempt to auction some of his memorabilia (supported by one of his sisters). @@divinediva_ agreed. Kobe's wife Vanessa and his children by far comes first. Personally I do have reservations and concerns how poorly Kobes family are treated as if he was fallen from out of the skies by a stalk and became a legend. If we can forgive others that treated us unjustly, then we surely can forgive and do the same for our family members. We cannot have peace unless we clear our conscience and do the right thing. Money cannot buy happiness. Speaking truth is never popular is it.? How ironic that Kobe had promised his mother in law as she expressed to take care of her until the end? We never know when it's our time therefore we ALL must try our hardest to live as righteously as possible and do the right thing. May God protect Vanessa lead her down the path of righteousness and give her peace knowing that her beautiful husband lives through each of them.
@@divinediva_ following up to my previous response. Kobe's family didn't wanted him married to Vanessa, she was from a different race, they were both too young. There were no doubt some issues , no difference from any other family of mexican, caucasian, chinese, indian etc. It started out rocky but did not and should not had taken so long for reconciliation. About his memorabilia his family should have check with him first before selling his personal items. Again no difference from any other families. They're still his family and should be acknowledged in all ways. We are great people and even stronger together. The sooner we recognize it, society will be slower to judge and see us as the ills of society.

A lot of cultures put that obligation on their child and it's engrained in their head. Parents literally live their lives expecting their children to be successful so that their children can take care of them. At 65 years of age NO ONE needs $5mil and a Mercedes to survive.

Unbelievable! A real mother wouldn’t do that. If something like that happened to my daughter, I would walk a cross a fire if it would lessen the heartache for my kid! Gosh, the betrayal Vanessa must feel on top of her unimaginable grief is an unimaginable!! Heartbreaking at so many level!

As a soon to be grandma myself. I could never never even remotely think about charging my son and daughter-in-law so that I may have the blessing of wanting & watching my grandma!!! I’ve raised my kids now it’s time for me to enjoy them!! Love them take care of them & spoil them!! I’m a ashamed of that women who dare calls herself a grandma!!

Years ago when Sofia was married to her first husband, Mr. Cornejo. Sofia was an illegal immigrant from T.J. And lived with Vanessa and her father in a house in Pomona.
Sofia worked for a factory Tubbs and Cordage in the city of Orange. I went with my husband a 1st cousin of Mr. Cornejo. They were having a birthday party/barbecue and the whole family was there. The house was immaculate and Sofia was doing all the cooking, prepping of the entire party.
This party Sofia had completely blew me away because Sofia was not walking upright, she was bent over in a 90 angle! I was amazed at her tenacity because she told us she is suing Tubbs and Cordage for her back injury and has been injured for years.
I felt so bad for her injury and I asked her if she does all the housework, she responded she can do everything.
As the party was going on Sofia was talking about her injury to some relatives but Vanessa being a little girl opened her mouth and said “Mommy walks like me, Moms okay not hurt”
Nobody said a thing, people had there suspicions but just said nothing.
Two months after the party my husband got a call from his cousin and said that Sofia left him after Tubs and Cordage paid Sofia $600,000 for her back injury, the next day she won the lawsuit she stood upright! There was never a injury, she fooled the court. Sofia wanted to divorce Vanessa dad, he was a truck driver and did not make much plus they lived in a bad area of Pomona. Sofia felt the money gave her freedom, but I guess she found another sucker, Vanessa’s step father Mr Laine.
When Vanessa initially met Kobe, I knew her mother pushed her to go with him, Sofia has always been about money, and Vanessa was raised by a snake and knows her mom, Sofia is still a money snake.
