Ive worked for a CNH dealer for 2.5 years specializing in macdon headers and hay equipment. I used to work under a veteran guy that had been working on the same kinds of equipment for 35 years, and now I've been the lead guy in that role for about 9 months. Sometimes "fake it til you make it" doesn't do things justice. I watch this channel to see how a master tech works/thinks/diagnoses and I try to apply it to my job. I know I'm not the only one that sees you as a mentor, and I hope you keep putting videos out because we'll watch every one of them
Glad my videos are helping you learn!
Great to see a true professional who knows what he’s doing. This video is a great advert for the agricultural repair industry professionalism. Another thing that makes watching your videos enjoyable is that you come across as a decent bloke. You got my respect, great video thank you.
Gratulation zum 90.000 Abonnenten, immer weiter so Zeth und danke für deine interessanten Beiträge 🇨🇭😇
Great job ZETH .well done video. ALWAYS LOVE YOUR CONTENT. I HAVE BEEN A SELF EMPLOYED Ag mobile mechanic for 42 years here in Ontario Canada.I have learned from youThank you sir Glenn MacPherson Lancaster ontario canada
Glad you enjoyed it!
The check valve fix was a game-changer! Seeing that one-finger steering at the end was so satisfying. 🚜🙌
Great video! I liked hearing you answer those questions, this episode explained a lot about you and who you are. I fall into the older side of mechanic's while I was still working on my own and other people's vehicles, the electronic side of things haven't been anything I've really wanted to learn, though I enjoy watching you figure things out for some reason. When I was a little kid in the early 70's some of my best memories were helping my dad as soon as I learned to hand him what he was asking for and holding the flashlight in the right place so he could see what he was doing after dark. I liked the memories just making this comment brought back to me about those times, it's like a Christmas gift!
Man you are a rockstar with diagnostics. I'd kill to find a guy like you local to me lol. Nice work
Thank you Sir! You and your great family have a Wonderful Christmas.
I also think the videos help customers understand the price of the repair // they can watch what was done / the labor required /the skill and the knowledge required and feel the price of the repair was justified
Another awesome vid! Keep the deere's running!
Thank you.
May the Force be with You

Thanks Zeth for the content. I’m a 2nd year apprentice at a JD dealer in West Australia. You’ve made the transition into this job way easier. And taught me many great tips
Would Sloan Implement take an Aussie tech for a 12-month “working holiday”?
Thanks! Glad you're doing well working at the dealer and that my videos helped you!
Thank´s for a great video 🙂!

The Iowa farm boy.
Your a great mechanic , thanks for the videos 🙏🏻
Good to see you Zeth
I’m worried for that 21 year old that asked three questions. If he’s having that much trouble with motivation and feeling overwhelmed, oh boy. We all sometimes feel unmotivated or overwhelmed and we just have to fight through it. Zeth’s answer was great. Other than that, have a purpose and vision for yourself and all that gets easier.
I just got my John Deere capstone for 1234 series tractors I like working on them am going for capstone for golf for Deere also soon it’s in Arizona am full 3 certified now am not sher I want get into the big units like you do am 54 yrs old and my body’s getting old I also and going capstone for skid steer and excavators your great tech good job man
Had a problem on a Joskin slurry tanker behind a 927 fendt. The customer complaint was that the hydraulic functions on the tanker were slow/not operating at all. They were on their last day of spreading and needed to get it done. Right off the bat I told the guy to stall an SCV and see if that works. It did, and they could finish. I did go out and checked the LS filter on the tractors valve bank, it was indeed gunked up with stuff, cleaned it, but didnt help. Checked the valve bank on the tanker, couldnt find anything wrong with it, other than the weird readings on the LS side. Told the guys to finish their spreading. Went out there again, took the valve bank off the tanker, pulled it apart in the workshop, hoping to find a leak in the LS circuit. Found nothing. Cleaned everything, put the valve bank back together, installed it on the machine, and it worked fine now. The only theory I had, is that it was a wee bit chilly outside (-10 c) and there was some condensation in the valve bank that froze something in there. Also, found that there was some dirt that came out from the valve bank. But no smoking gun whatsoever. Its really fun to have these kind of problems (especially hydraulic or electrical), where you fix the thing without knowing what fixed it.
That LS problem you had reminded me of all that. Thanks again for the video. Cheers mate.!
Zeth glad to see your back ,I have a restored 212 HD lookin for a 870 or 670 ect ,have you done a video on your compact yet ,merry Christmas to an family.
Thanks! I haven't done a video on that yet.
if i ever had a $300,000 tractor act up...I'd want this guy to diagnose the issue.
Great video!
My questions are…
1. Do you have a full double set of tools? I.E. in the truck and in the shop? Or perhaps triple with a set at home?
2. How do you insurance all that hardware?
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Yes. One set for the truck, one set for the shop, and tools at home. Tools are insured through my home insurance.

Like you said…
It’s a big investment!
I’m a small engine mechanic and my one set has been a pretty significant investment and still keeps growing bit by bit now and then.
Thanks for the video. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family
Hey ZK! I'm considering getting into this through Hutson Inc. but I'm wondering what do the technicians do during winter months? Thx
don’t you have by any chance the DTAC number for the check valve installation?
Just search hard steering and it comes right up.
On John Deere track tractors do you think you should talc the tracks to keep them from wearing out faster?
Good day Sir, how are you doing today?
I just want to ask you if you don’t mind. Where is the engine heater plug on a JD6120.
I want to leave and use it outside for this days coming with the snow, pulling a blade to scrape the snow. Do you mind to help me please.
Kind regards
Jan
I'm always fascinated by the size and number of tools you need to do your work. Do you maintain separate tools in your service truck and in the shop? Do you have a round number estimate in how many dollars you've invested in tools? I see a lot of Snap-On and Matco, so I know you've made a significant investment. Thanks!
👏👏👏

Good morning, I would like to ask for your help in making a diagnosis on a 9520R, the tractor has the code FDH 517467.02 the tractor falls to neutral and has no rotation command it does not engage forward or reverse, the fault is intermittent the axle sensor, FDH controller pins and connector have already been replaced and the problem persists.
Auto Steer would not engage with the xsc code active
I like the customers I work on road and in shop but I do a lot of John Deere golf on rd warranty work and have many customers here in northern Ontario
When do we get a concert?
Check my Facebook
It doesn’t matter if you’re a diyer or whatever you fix it requires expensive tools and good information
lol… JD quality doesn’t even extend to running spell-check on their software.
“..deteced..”?
Hey Zk Master Tech u ever had a problem with a 9870 John deere Combine mine has a transmission pro drive code 524242.18 any idea how to fix it I can only drive 3 miles per hour
Probably something wrong with the transmission supply pressure sensor. The park brake pressure sensor is the same part number and you can swap them to see if the problem follows.
I already swap them and it was still the same I put new ones in and doesn't change nothing any more ideas
Mason doesn’t look like a Lego mini-fig. At all.
I have a new question not involving John Deere. What was the spread on that huge buck? (I guess that's still Deere related).
It has a 22" spread
Too many damn sensors for things that there shouldn't be sensors for. If I was the farmer, I might trade it off on an older tractor and then give in a 90 hp boost. Or trade for CASEIH
Do you have any female techs working at Sloan? If not, why not?
why in the hell would they make it where that valve can not be re build damn stupid on their part for sure
first!
i think John Deere design techs need to spend 1 year in a shop on the tools before they can design equipment
Who buys all your tools
I do
John Deere better learn to spell "detected" correctly.
A missing T wouldn't crack the E&E top 25 list.
Zeth,if you come across a870 compact can you contact me, thank you .
