The chemistry between you two (glaze pun intended) is amazing. Matthew is so effervescent around you! I love hearing you two figure out all of the variations between different cones, clay bodies, and using each other’s glazes.
I started making clay objects about a decade ago. I have found potters to be the most grounded,(pun intended), generous, open, kind humans on the planet. Even if I fell out of love with clay - I'd still do it because I love clay people so much. Seeing you two guys playing/working together the last few videos has been straight up joy!
Honestly depends on region seen many very secretive not so open and friendly potters. Then their is guys these that I love too meet who are friendly open and love spreading. Their craft with other artists. My teacher always taught me to be open to people
Wish I could hit like a dozen times! This was great. You guys need to do this yearly. Would love to see what Coyote glazes do at 10...know they don’t sponsor you, but hey..they could!
I’m new here and I just started pottery 8 months ago. You both are very inspiring and I’m enjoying you both! Beautiful pieces! I’ve been watching quite a few videos the last 2 days....soooo I have a long ways to go!!
I've only been potting for a few months, and the studio limits the glazes we beginners can use. I can't wait to get to the point where I can play with more colors! The bottom layer is my favorite! That deep purple! The bowls and mugs with the little drips!
Enjoyed both of you together. Not saying you should “give away” all expertise. Some things just fine to remain proprietary- earned through a lot of work. That said, I find most potters genuinely helpful with well thought out questions and challenges. Thx for posting and all best regards.
Love the vid. Especially the camaraderie between clay-buds. Very cool drone shot of the chimney! Same question as Mary LeMieux below: is the "B" clay and the glazes Mayco sent mid-fire or hi-fire formulations?
I don't know. I'm thinking this has become a legendary paring Jon and Mat. Pretty dang enjoyable entertainment. Potters, on your mark, get set, for the re-stocking sales GO.
That lavender glaze looks like something has a higher level of potassium. Cottonwood did this to celadon (which is usually green) in a wood firing. [Edit..this is just an opinion...from 1 wood firing]
Hi nice to meet you. Im love your work so much. Please can you tell me how this kiln work and how its made please i will be thankfull .just any diagram for it or any thing please. And thank you so much 🌹🌹
Hi. May i ask you a question. Why the cercular shape change to oval during glaze firing. After biscuit firing the shape was perfect cercular (a mug or a ball) thank you in advance
Is that red glaze iron or copper? Great that these premixed glazes and clays are available. Ceramic chemistry can be baffling, I had a lot of heartbreak, testing and failing over the years.

Really loved watching this live...you two are so inspiring to so many people. Thank you for sharing!!
Watching your wood firing and now a gas firing has been wonderful to follow. Thank you very much.
I'm glad it was good results and a fun collaboration for you both. That shot of fire caressing it's surrounding at the end is marvellous!
I've watched several Japanese videos on wood firing and have become a real fan of wood fired pottery.
WOW!!! These pots are all absolutely amazing!!! Love this!!! Can’t wait for the other unloading.

That was amazing! I wish I was there to look at every single combination in person. Love you guys, and both together was such a treat!
spectacular two seledrity of the world of ceramics enchants me
Nice results but you’re correct, it’s good to pack the kiln tight to the ceiling for reduction.
Helo! I'm Brazilian and I'm a fan of both, I always imagined this video. I admire your work.
Nice work, great colors. Opening the kiln after a glaze fire is the best part about pottery for me!!
Frog skin and floating blue make awesome combo

Wholesome video
Love the bunnies. 💕🐇
Wow, those crystals thoopo
I wish the mugs werent $90
Maybe the extra heat took some of the color you get at cone 6
To clarify, Mayco glazes are rated for Cone 5/6? Fired to Cone 10-11 in the gas kiln? OR are these glazes Cone 10?
Oh also, high fire clay bodies, correct?
Japanese potters are laughing 😂😂😂
EPICALLY EPIC
Mantap bang
