All berry distribution maps in this video are accurate for the contiguous United States to at least the county level, Canada/Mexico/Alaska to at least the province/state level, and all other countries to at least the country level. The two main sources used for these distribution maps are (1) Elbert L. Little Jr.'s many volumes of "Atlas of United States Trees" for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and (2) the North American Plant Atlas (NAPA) from Biota of North America Project (BONAP) which can be found at bonap.net
Varieties were included and excluded based on distribution. Some species and subspecies with very small distributions or those that are extinct in the wild were excluded. All non-native species and subspecies were excluded. Some lesser known and poorly researched species without good map data were excluded. These maps are limited to the data available and are not perfect. Yes there are berries in your backyard that are not on these maps. They may not be native or they may not be included in readily available data
Please note that many species of berry are colloquially referred to with different names (i.e. many subspecies of the Rubus species are called both dewberry and blackberry, depending on locale). This is why the Alaska blueberry, Vaccinium _ovalifolium_, was included with huckleberries; it is also known as the oval-leaf huckleberry. It probably should have been included with blueberries, but it's not the end of the world. There is no central authority on berry naming so it's up to each and every one of us to decide for ourselves what should be a huckleberry and what should be a blueberry
All berry facts were gleaned from each berry's wikipedia page
Berry town data from (city-data.com), accurate to the 2020 census
All information for persons named Berry were similarly lifted from their wikipedia pages, accurate as of October 2022. The depiction of Erick Berry in this video was created based on her likeness in the one known photo of her. Locations for Berry persons are their place of birth

This kind of video is right up my alley, but some commentary would be awesome! Maybe stuff you’ve learned about these berries or fun facts, idk. But great visuals! Great Reddit post too

Original video idea was for it to be commentated, but it was too much work so the information cards were added instead.

Bravo, do you have a list of all the berries? (I want to go on a quest to try as many as possible)

The raspberry was referenced several times in the descriptions of other berries, but was not included itself. What's up? And, what about the mayberry? Any others you missed?

Beautiful, beautiful infographic ! Quick tip for the next one : If you want to talk about multiple species, you can use spp. as in Vaccinium spp. for exemple
