This pair brought me back to buying shoes. I saw a guy walking by my parents’ house with these and I was taken aback by the audacity of them. And they had the Nike Air on the back. That did it for me. I bought a new pair below retail and have enjoyed them ever since.

And its not even close. There are a few who have more subscribers who absolutely suck. Theyre loud and seem to say a lot without actually saying anything of substance. They use titles such as “dont buy until” to bait you. But the best part of their review are the images of the shoes.

These are my favourite Js, got them a month ago, best colourway in my opinion and the tongue just works perfectly with the right amount of purple to break up the dominant black…I wouldn’t change anything on this shoe at all
Sat on these for a bit but they just showed up again today in footlocker Australia , didn’t sit this time ! Great review U2 and sorry guys but I love that combo and that grape tongue, so different 👌🏼 stay safe.

They should have given it the teal “Nike air” on the back from the grapes to really tie it together properly.

At first the purple looked wrong but it looks different and it’s not overwhelming to look at. I like that they’re not too loud and bright

Pass for me, doubled on the Fire Reds and with the Bel Air's, Oregons, and supposedly alternate Grapes coming out this year, I have too many 5s on my radar to be concerned about this one.

Agreed ... I'm picking one (with backup obviously) and probably going with the Bel Air's this year. Love the "Nike Air" logo on these, but the color contrast on these with the grape tongue just ain't cutting it for me.

People are hating the purple tongue, but that's what makes the shoe unique.. how are the grapes so great with a purple tongue, but these are not? hmm right..? Just to make it short, and simple, I was debating between these and the Jordan 6 Hare, and man these "top 3" smoke the hare! Real Talk
Giovanni Echavarria definitely worth it in my opinion, worn them solidly for a month now, no creases, I clean them every week and they are hella comfy imo.

I’m floating between these the 12 low easters and the 13 Chinese New Years but I’m almost positive these are gonna be my next pick ups.

The most guys are taking about ugly tongue but for me that’s the best part of the shoe, it’s pop and make the shoe unique .👌
Facts
This is one of the three Jordan 5s I own. I call it my wild card shoe, somewhat out there and eclectic but very cool. My fave is the Oregon colorway editions because I am an oregon alumn and that apple green is fire.
I will go with the black laces, all In all it's still a good looking shoe.
Great review as always! I feel like there's just a middle ground here that they had to settle with in terms of representing colorways vs. making something they felt was clean. I personally don't think adding white anywhere on the upper would've looked good, but I agree that it would've been given the Grapes more love.
I'm cool on these personally. Looking at them just makes me want another Black Metallic retro with the 3M Fire Red shape.
The metallics that came out in eaither 05 or 06 had the 23 on the side
so did the 07 and 11's. OG's didn't.

I feel like you gave some relief to the shoe with the white laces. It gives me more “grape” feeling. I like them better with the white but never would’ve thought of it.

Imagine if they did it right. Like the actual "what the" line. A white shoe Laney tongue, grape mid sole, throw the Tokyo in there somewhere black shoe metallic based, fire red, 3 lab 5, would grey. Make it funky.

Gives me the same vibes that the Concord / bred lows. Colorway mashups that don't look right together even though they're fire when separate.

I remember reading somewhere that the prices for all Jordan products (at least the retros) were inflated to stifle resale markets. Super desirable colour ways or limited releases would drop and people would cop a bunch of pairs with the intention of reselling them and jack up prices. If the prices were already high, in a sense, at least Jordan brand would be the one to profit.

It doesn't make sense to me why they won't throw a phylon midsole or zoom stroble on a colorway like this! You're already jacking up the price and straying far enough away from the original idea of the shoe that you might as well make them comfortable. I don't think any collector is buying these to keep deadstock. Leave the polyurethane for the OG colorways but make the new stuff more wearable if you want it to sell!

I love the Top 3's. Got a fresh pair still wrapped in that black plastic in the box. My girl won't let me have them until my b-day on June 20th. That's ok because it gives me time to find the perfect matching outfit. I bought 2 shirts that are matched perfectly to my Top 3s. I really need to get my channel up and running. I show ya how to match your clothes down to the socks for any retro Jordan. Amazon is not the spot to get matching clothes. By matching I mean every color down to the smallest detail. I can't wait to show you all my selections collection with the perfect gear to match. Jus makes you feel like a boss👟🦶🏾💪🏾💯

I was handling one of my rep pairs of Jordan 5s while you made the comment "Polyurethane is a little firm.." at that moment I noticed how they have soft springy PU compared to retail. I wonder if that makes a difference on foot to the comfort of those comparatively.

Caught these sitting at Champs when they initially came out, I just wanted some all black fives with Nike Air on the back, I figure its the closest I'm going to get to the metallic 5's.
