Sacrificing for your loved ones and not telling them is sooo old school. You talk about it and face it together instead of keeping it all in yourself and hurting the one you're protecting. I mean, does that measure your love? Sacrificing for someone and hurting them in the end means it's one true love?
Anyway, I'm watching this for the drama so.. 😅😅😅 But Shanggu and Yuanqi are such cuties.. Bai Jue is missing a lot by keeping them away from him.

I honestly think I would also go to the ends of the world to protect the one I love even if it means hurting them emotionally because having them alive and blocking all forces against them meant there'll always be a chance to explain and try again although his character here is unlikable but I have to say he is one hell of a strong man to be able to see his lover be hurt right in front of his eyes with every power to protect her... and we have to understand these were ancient times where gender equality was rarely taken into consideration 'as long as you're protected and safe all will be well'' I may be wrong though.
to all people who dont like bai jue i know your hatred and i do feel it as well before but if you are already jumping to the conclusion you will not understand on why bai jue did this and what will be the effect if bai jue tell it to shanggu i watch ancient love poetry 4 times actually bai jue for me is the strongest in their relationship as he did so many sacrifice and hide his hatred himself for treating shaggu this way but he fight it for shanggus protection.
