He spent thousands of hours reading since he was a little kid. Books on different topics helped me develop an open mind and the way he thinks. He himself mentioned reading molded him to the person he is today.
I was amazed at the ideas and opinions from Naval about what the future landscape could look like for not just money, but also identity, social networks, democracy and so many other things that he mentioned. Awesome content.
One unnecessary note: "The future is here is here, it's just unevenly distributed" is a quote belonging to William Gibson and not Paul Graham. However, like naval, I do sometimes mixup Paul Graham with William Gibson, for some weird reason. (Place: 20:15)
Sin el SBBC del MI* no es posible la verdadera descentralizacion que evite el control de actores económicos específicos, toda vez que es una norma de mercado. ok?
What about sopa if isp’s block all network connections but the ones they approve wouldn’t that make blockchain technology’s impossible for the mass’s to adopt
Not particularly. Sans Covid, Trump would have won. But even so, if you look at some of Biden's policies, they are a weird mix of Trump's and Sanders's.
I guess I need to learn more about blockchain. But here is my question: Of course blockchain tech is democratic, but people won’t use pure blockchain. There will be a layer of software or usability on top of it. Those are the layers that get managed. Won’t it just result in the same walled garden ecosystem we find ourselves in now?
Super talk, Naval rules this land! Ryan and Muneeb many thanks to you guys. Interesting to note that decentralized money appeared in Turkey (as well as first gold coins 3000 yrs ago) about 40 yrs ago in the form of an analog (paper) blockchain currency. Here is my article from July 2015: medium.com/block-chain/we-had-paper-blockchains-for-decades-13ac29c4efd0 p.s. "Futıre is already here, it's just not evenly distributed" is by William Gibson and not Paul Graham. Thank you Naval.
Naval really fell hook, line and sinker for the 'blockchain/decentralise everything' meme in 2017... Hopefully this bear market teaches him not everything needs a blockchain and some pause in future.

The future blockchain that is going to make this happen is actually not a blockchain at all! It's a TANGLE! And it's already here. The coin is called $IOTA. It would be wise for Blockstack to begin developing its platform on top of TANGLE as soon as possible! Cheers
Wow! He maybe one of the greatest visionaries of the digital age. Lucky are those who are able to work next to this man.
Watching this in 2024, crazy how well everything naval spoke stands. True visionary
Naval is a visionary. I am deeply learning from his vision of the future of blockchain. Thank you.
Agreed! Not many people with such imagination on this planet.
Truth has been spoken.

Thanks for the amazing content. A minor feedback: the repeated drinking of water and wine by Ryan is distracting.
Naval spoke of George Gilder who is on the Board and co-founded Rivetz which is currently in ICO. #HiddenGem
