A tip on getting all the condiment out of a squeeze bottle if you don't have an extra bottle. Put the lid on, hold the bottle at the bottom (upside down) and swing your arm in a circle (like a softball pitcher) the centrifugal force will push the thick liquid outward toward the lid.
You can also use a strong set of scissors (like Cutco's) to cut the plastic bottle in half through the middle section. Then you can just use a spatula to get everything out. I do this with shampoo and hand lotion plastic bottles since we can no longer remove the tops easily. I miss the screw top lids of yesterday!

Great job. Y you must have asbest fingers because you can grab that thing so good. I've been canning for awhile and still need a rag to hand the jar. Thanks
Could you have added a little additional ACV to the Dijon mustard jar and shaken it to dislodge the remaining mustard instead of opening a fresh jar since you were going to ph test? And could you have used a different type of mustard, say stone ground? Thanks. Pixie
Hi. If this has been asked, I apologize but how do you determine how much can sauce is equal to what's listed in the recipe? For example, if ball says use 24lb tomato or about 72 medium, how do you determine how much sauce that is? Thank you so much
Though it varies, a rough estimate is 5 lbs of tomatoes will yield about 1 quart of sauce. So if your recipe calls for 24 lbs tomatoes, you can use just shy of 5 quarts of sauce. Great tutorial for people just starting out canning. Solid information!
Love your starters. Love having something on the shelf.

Yes to both! 🙂
Where do you get this size of tomato sauce? Who sells it?
I ordered it online at Walmart.

@@foodprepguide Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I really appreciate it. 😊
Where do you get the #10 cans? Costco? And how about the ph testing strip? Thanks!
I ordered from Walmart online. Here are the pH strips that I now use! 🙂 amzn.to/3BhcoXS
@@foodprepguide Thanks!!
can you make this recipe using tomatoe paste converted into tomatoe sauce?
As long as the acidity is correct after diluting the paste to sauce it should be fine. Imo. You can check the proper ratios online.
I don’t see why not as long as it’s not too thick, and I’d use a pH strip to verify safe acidity before moving forward with the recipe.
Thank you
