    After comparing prices and seeing what’s out there, I went back to a jewelry shop that I first went to with a great vibe and sense of how much things would cost. I got helped by a different person and I told them what I wanted. They kept responding with “why?” and it got frustrating because they kept throwing other things at me and trying to convince me to not get what I had my heart set on. Our max was $6000 and the lady told me to walk around the shop to talk to my boyfriend without me which I thought was weird. We already agreed and had a budget that was realistic but the sales person was on a different page. My boyfriend was insisting on me staying and having in the loop because we were there together. She made me feel so terrible I’ll never go back. Worse experience ever!

      I’m so so sorry to hear that! The place I went was so different so I’m heartbroken that was your experience. The thing I loved most about mine was that they never tried to upsell me and listened to me. When I talked about what I was looking for she actually recommended something that was $300 less. So sorry to hear this was your experience.

      Spending $6,000 is unnecessary. In today’s environment of Social Media, a person has to choose one end of the spectrum or the other. Either get a simple gold band without a stone or wait until your budget reaches half the average cost of a new car. Your $6k budget is so 1970s. Today’s average new car is $50,000.

    • @Button607
      @Button607 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sjay149 Yeah, my ring ended up being less than the budget. I got an emerald engagement ring because I really like that gemstone. I never really liked diamonds much. I also didn’t want to spend $50k on any kind ring because I thought that was overkill for me personally. The diamond market is so overpriced I can see how engagement rings can become so expensive. I have a round 1.44 ct GIA certified emerald ring with an infinity band. I liked the gemstone size on my hand and I didn’t want anything bigger. I don’t think I would “upgrade” if anything I would just get a different shape around the same size. I work in healthcare so my gloves fit pretty well with the size.

    Hello! Can you do reviews or suggestions for male engagement rings? My partner and I are getting married, and of course, the ring talk is happening. Unfortunately, there is very limited information since men's engagement ring is relatively new. There are zero articles on "engagement ring and wedding band set" for men, etc., and the designs are usually the same (clue: tiffany's bezel set). Anyway, I hope a conversation on this starts as I want to get myself the perfect ring. (Also, yup, I'm the only one getting the ring - lol- my partner did not grow up watching Disney like I did. 🤭)

  • @cuprunnethover2509
    @cuprunnethover2509 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think that you need to know the budget before you can figure out the carat. I say this because what if he can only afford $xyz but you have chosen the carat weight that you wanted. Well, let's say that the carat that you wanted is not in his budget. Now, #1) he feels all bad because he can't afford the 2 carat ring that you wanted. #2) he is stressing about how can he get you this ring that you really want #3) he feels like he has let you down because he can't afford what you want
    All that is unnecessary stress on him that shouldn't be. Of course, he is going to say buy what you want. Shopping for a ring should be stressful for him not for yourself.
    I would suggest know what amount can be afforded to pay for a ring and then you can see what size carat fits into that price range. Don't stress him out or make him feel bad because he may not be able to get you what you wish. That's just my opinion!

    A partner needs to set their engagement ring budget a low as possible. Even Crackerjack Box level, because the partnership is something expected by Society and Society knows it’s going to fail. The ring has become an accessory to the party and parties end.
