This is a great assortment, but I need to know what trees have non-invasive roots. I live in S. Nevada in an HOA, small lot, and a brick fence. We need shade. Any suggestions?
It is a beautiful tree when in bloom that is for sure, Cleveland is stronger than its cousin the Bradford Pear, but the Cleveland Pear is still susceptible to branch weakness due to its fast-growth, so high winds and storms can cause damage. I see it grows to only 20' wide which may provide some shade in a courtyard or patio setting

maybe they are the best trees for where he is but will they grow into health trees everywhere, probably not. in urban areas trees with shallow root systems cause no end of problems for the property owner. you need to look at how well they can stand heat and humidity, long dry periods, how tall they get and what kind of canopy they have. know what zone you live in and how the level of cold you get will effect the tree. Also does it have messy seed pods, the Southern Magnolia is a good looking tree but has shallow roots, needs a lot of water, and drops large seed pods that have to be picked up to prevent seedlings all over the yard. Ash trees look nice but have very brittle limbs which can't handle high winds. I do like the Texas American Elm which is immune to dutch elm disease and are not being exported to the norther states to replace the ones that were wiped out by disease. My first suggestion would be contact your local Ag-extension agent to see what trees are recommended in your area.

Which one of these shade trees will do well in Californian heat?
Depends on which plant zone you live, but most of these in my list are good for zones up to 8 and 9
im looking for a flowering shade tree for Arizona but not to big and not alot of water. that don't drop leaves any ideas ?
Have you looked into the Jacaranda or Crape Myrtles?
