Ah good memories. DD-AR (and SGM) was/were my default every day train I took whilst going to high school. This was between the mid 2000s and early 10’s on the Hoofddorp-Almere line, where it would share consists with Mat 64 ‘stoptrein’ and the very occasional VIRM/ICM
Apparently, operating them as Sprinters like NS did, and still service them as Intercities the brakes wore the wheels and axles down much faster than expected.
WE NEED MORE NS VIDEOS! Btw, this design is so beautiful. I hope there is a H0 gauge model for my layout. I just love the idea of EMU's. The only ones here in Germany that you really see (as in being popular) are ICE's and they are a bit too pointy for me.
As a traindriver in can say that the updated ddz cab’s are shite. Lost vision because the side windows are gone. The large main windown is badly installed, a lot of wind noise during driving. The old cabs were better
Nice to see someone talking about the dutch railways or NS
Well done on the Dutch pronunciation of the mammals. Really well done. Also nice to see a documentary on Dutch trains. Thanks for posting.

I'll gladly watch more NS videos
The refurbished DDZs have a nice couch seeting arrangement at either side of the carriage, on the lower deck. Imo the best place to sit!
Please cover more Dutch trains or locomotives

6:23 i was there when that event happened with the br 23 :O
After the refurbishment the ddz are terrible. When i travel with the ddz everytime they are defect. And many problems.
They’re nice trains, though one thing I’ve noticed is that the sound of the accelerating mDDM is... unsettling, to a degree.
Nah that sound is beautiful
@@KaaimanProductions It's beautiful, but also unnerving.
any plans to cover Dutch stoomtrams in the future?
Not really- The spectrum of small passenger tank engines is usually "an ocean wide, a puddle deep".
@@FlyingScott yeah, not too exicting
Thoughts on doing a tank engine for this show in future?
Does the Kitson hybrid count?
@@FlyingScott Maybe.
Any plans to cover other country's trains?
