Ferrari doing 280+ minimum speed through Raidillon wow
I heard somewhere that Ferrari may contend in high-speed circuits I can see that, this lap was about 4 seconds faster than yesterday's Toyota, I know it is a 24-hour difference but still, and in this lap Ferrari was going about 8 km/h faster than Toyota at Raidillon. For me, this is motorsport, Ferrari is not doing great at F1 and they most likely not win at Spa, but they are still giving it, fighting two battles at the same weekend just because.
Ferrari and Toyota seem to have more high speed grip than the rest, and more top speed at Kemmel straight
All the manufacturers build their cars for Le Mans. Ferrari has the pace. I just hope they dont fuck up strategy again.
In all the onboard laps, uploaded here, the Ferrari was the only one going through there without lifting the throttle. Even Toyota had to.

Antonio was excellent at race starts in F1. He almost always would make up multiple positions on the first lap.

yeah, i have a feeling that endurance racing may be his calling. however, if leclerc uses his exit clause to leave ferrari, id feel insulted in giovinazzi's favor if he dosnt get a ferrari f1 drive for at least 2 years
@@derekbrunette222if I remember correctly he had a Haas test last year and crashed the car in a few laps, that's probably what's holding him back.

the actual engine sound is not brutal, its total crap. the hybrid system is stupid noisy though.

The speed it carries through Eau Rouge/Raidillon and onto the back straight is ridiculous, far faster than the Toyota or supposedly "low drag" 9X8.

@@essayibcs8528 on the onboard Hartley was redlining it in 6th gear through Raidillon. Not sure that’s sandbagging.
@@elizacevert4017 definitely not. Would bog down too much in 7th gear, which you would probably do if you were sandbagging, but not ideal for ultimate lap time.
All cars have the same drag, the 9X8 just generates aero load in a different way without rear wing. Still Toyota and Ferrari seem to have an edge over the rest

Gearbox is set up a very interesting way, he uses 7th gear for 3s a lap, it would be good to compare with others to see if they had a similar ideas.
They might use it more when using more energy, and when they get a good slipstream.
I think they only get to have 1 set of gear ratios. So the 7th gear is chosen for LeMans.

Pity seventh gear isn't used properly. I suspect a compromise to have lower gears operate more efficient through the field.
This is ratio for Lemans track. Effectively rules does not allow multiple gear ratios.

Yeah that was the Cadillac, it's just practice though, could have been worse.
This is a difficult Le Mans to process.
On the one hand, I'm a Porsche fan, through and through, and my first dream car I bought was a Ferrari 348.
To see them back in Le Mans is an incredibly exciting thing.
But to think they only came under the condition Toyota would have it's wings clipped is a difficult feeling - is this the genuine spirit of competition?
If we can't defeat Toyota, it would be an absolute embarrassment, but if we beat Toyota by a narrow margin, it would be a bit of a travesty because TGR would have essentially been beaten by the ACO and FIA as punishment for all the years of testing and development they did while they were the only works team keeping the top class alive....

It's the amount of energy a car can use over the duration of a stint. That includes the hybrid as well as the ICE engine.

Energy, supposedly is the use of energy. But I find it strange that it doesn't move.
@@alanpenaloza2642 It's a mixture of the fuel and the electricity use during a stint, not purely the battery level. Draining it from 100 to 0 is about 40 minutes of driving, so 1 lap doesn't make much of a dent in it. It's basically to indicate where in it's stint a car is. If you think if it as the fuel gauge you are very close to the truth.

Yes it's a race car but the class of cars that these racecars battle each other is called "Hypercar". Then there's lmp2 and gte. It's the name of the categories of racecars.
