      I watch these videos BEFORE I buy a phone. Though the repairability scores are similar between the Pixel 6A and Samsung A53, don't you think the A53 should get a better score since you don't have to risk cracking the screen for the eventual battery replacement and also the fact that the USB-C port (also often a wear item) is not soldered to the main board?

    • @ksull72487
      @ksull72487 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Cost saving measure by Google. You ruin that port most shops will refuse the phone. Although some of these smaller skilled shops may do the work without much of a warranty.
      Always use good clean USB cables. Keep a can of compressed air on hand for cable and port. Dust and debris will kill it eventually but you'll likely be on your next phone before then.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what you mean by the plastic brim, but was it for sure a pixel 6a? maybe there might be a slight difference in the mmWave version which would be for verizon but doubt it should have any difference aside from an extra antenna assembly.

  • @grindfi

    Assuming that the space for the wireless charging coil is actually for that, i wonder if there are contact points on the board which allow power input, in which case it should be possible to build a wireless charging pcb, and add it to the phine

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I checked, the main board doesn't have any additional pins or slots for pins to be installed for more contact points. There is a resistor there in the middle of the 2 pins so there is no solder points there for anything to possibly have been installed. Not sure why they have such a large cutout for the NFC, maybe they originally planed for wireless charging but scrapped it down the line when the frames were already made or maybe some other thing no clue.

    I have a doubt for a longtime.
    Many devices that come with IP ratings such as IP67 , IP68 . What about the situation of these ratings once the device is opened up for any repair?
    Will they still provide the same protection as per their IP rating even after they are opened up and repaired?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, well once the device has been opened, you lose the protection because the adhesive seal has been opened. Unless you install a new original pre cut adhesive which is made for that phone, you wont have an IP rated device anymore. Usually for many phones the original pre cut adhesive is sold by itself or on replacement back plates/covers. But for ones which are not and you use your own adhesive to install, then you wont have the protection.

      Try doing network reset in the settings (this would erase your wifi stored passwords and such as well) and if that doesn't work then try backing up your data and doing a factory reset (will erase all your stuff on the phone). If still no luck, then would be a hardware issue on the main board which would require a professional repair shop to be able to fix or sending it in to samsung.

    Google phones are starting to look sexy inside just like apple, 👍 keep it up Google.
    We need to push companies to also make mobiles internally appealing because that's also important.
    By the way I used my Pixel 6A to write this message.
    This phone performs great and it's only 6a
    Imagine pixel 8 and 9 in few years
    Apple may have a fight on its hands as Googles android is starting to feel butter smooth, and battery life is prefect also..
    I still use the iPhone as my main device, but love my android for the things I can't do on my iPhone out the box 😉

    Sadly in my country just like a lot of region in the world pixel phones do not lunch officially and only available with very unfair prices and almost you should pay pro model version to get usual one so buying a pixel device have no sence in here but being a true Google fan boy any way still there are very interesting devices.

      The import taxes in some of those countries and probably yours too, are steep on Google. So that money has to be made up via higher prices. If you were to order it, you'd probably still have to pay hefty import taxes too so it just is what it is. Not "unfair" prices at all....

    Does the FPS looks larger than on the standard 6 series models? That's how all batteries should be removed. No balls in lower speaker? No wireless; FAIL. Not impressed.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not sure what you mean by the FPS, but yes batteries should all be easy to remove like this. The bottom speaker might have the foam balls, I didn't peel back that thin strip of graphite film but looks like it does.

    this guy needs to slow down. .with the accent . .some of the words are completely jumbled and non-sense. What the are "white foam balls" near the charge port. When he intros the repair times. . I cannot make out the "repair I give this a 7 out of 10" . .huh?

      Not sure what you mean by "what the are" white foam balls but we can all slow down I guess in typing and speaking lol :). I try to slow down but sometimes it sounds too robotic for me. Can't help it I guess, just the way I'm built. As for the repair part, I said repairability score. 7 out of 10 so not sure what part of that you weren't understanding, let me know so I can clarify.

      Yep. People prefer entertainment. Unfortunately I don't have that type of personality to pull it off and don't want to be fake and act like something I'm not. Maybe one day I will be able to incorporate more entertainment in the videos but a lot of people who watch these videos for actual repair purposes dont care for the entertainment and want the straight to the point video to get their repairs done.
