Honda FG110 Mini Tiller Primer Bulb Replacement

  • Recently, I needed to use my tiller to prepare a fall gardening bed. When priming the fuel, there was a noticeable fuel leak, and I determined the primer bulb had failed. Fortunately, I keep these on hand, so just a matter of replacing it.
I thought it would be a quick removal of four screws, replace the primer bulb, and be back in business. Turns out the tiller had other plans, and I end up having to take more parts off than I had planned to. I just go ahead, and leave in mishaps along the way, as I'm not perfect. First time working on this tiller, but in the end, I successfully repaired it! Turns out the carburetor is still in good condition, just needed a healthy spray of B12 to clean out some debris. If i can do it, anyone can. Just be patient, pay attention to how everything comes apart, take reference pictures as needed, then reassemble, checking work along the way.
Thanks for stopping by to watch, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell!

Excellent job, love the rebuild process along the way, so easy! Looks like it was a very straightforward repair. Now you just have to wait for 50 more comments to come in telling you that you did it wrong, because they've been in the Honda tiller repair business for the last 70 years and unless you use a #2 Philips and strip the screws out, it will leak, start a fire, and burn down the shed. I had an A/C twerp today tell me that I shouldn't use an A/C that has R22 because it pollutes the environment. It's just as easy as taking the flow restrictor out.

Thank you! Indeed, I'm sure I did it all wrong. It didn't work when I began, but does work, after I got done. I once had an upholstery dick say a 1984 Chevy truck didn't have the same seat fabric as my 1981, because he'd been in upholstery for 50 years, and his service book wasn't ever wrong. I proceeded to find as many original 1984's for sale, and they had the same seat fabric as my 81. Eventually got the point across that there was a mid-year change in fabric.
That is hilarious about the AC twerp, and R22! As long as the system stays sealed, it's fine. Send it! Did the AC twerp offer to buy you new systems for upstairs, downstairs, and a garage AC? I bet not!

@@dynatrak Certainly not! Also claimed that running the unit on low saved electricity. No, the pressure within the system rises, consequently the compressor pulls more current, negating the current you saved by switching down the fan speed to low. Fortunately he didn't get on the Energy Saver=Energy Waster video yet.

Of course! Every time I ask them to pay up, I never get another comment.
Yep, that would be a fine experiment to prove true! Also, there is a greater chance that liquid refrigerant can flood back and slug the compressor on low faen speed, due to not being fully evaporated. Absolutely that will cause the compressor to pull more amps! I have a window unit, with low, and high, and a watt meter. I can do that. That reminds me, I also need to record debunking microwave power levels are useless. I have it all worked out in my head, just need to get it done, of course, that requires a roundtuit.

@@dynatrak Yeah if you have a window unit, go for it! Give it a test for yourself, back up your facts with numbers, and still receive the comments that low is better than high! But serious, go and make that video, and get a piece of the pie. And yes, I definitely want to see that microwave video. I have a hew roundtuits laying around, I'll send them your way. Need an extra can of elbow grease too?

Honda saves a penny per engine by using the cheapest hose clamps ever manufactured. That and their ass backward 18 layer air filter/gasket/fuel valve/gasket/Carb/gasket/head shield/gasket/intake boot assembly is some sort of vindictive payback for WW2. They need to get over it.
