Definitely agree. In addition to the value of the gold, it has intrinsic value. Even the low-grade would still be worth more than it’s gold weight. Thanks for sharing.
The intrinsic value is of course , the gold. Intrinsic value is not in addition to the gold, that value is in the gold. Do you mean, in addition to the gold value, to the intrinsic value, it has numanistic value? thanks for clearing that up. cheers.

I purchase many for low premiums & at spot price. Me personally won’t purchase any graded coins the premiums our way to high & not big fan of slab coins. I love to put my Raw Pre-33 Gold coins in capsules to touch & hold in my hands.

I do have almost 20oz of Gold, including a few ounces of Pre-33. I love the stuff, and the history. I don't do slabs, all I care about is if they are in good condition. Like you, mine will not be for sale, and that is mostly what I will buy in the future, outside of British Tudor Beasts, and other interesting coins.
I have a couple of pre 33 but I have been looking more into them as of late I don't think you can go wrong with them and if the price is right I grab them.
Obviously, the price must be right as of today or no one would be buying them at all. Why are you waiting for the price to inevitably increase? Thanks for explaining your strategy. cheers.
Most of my gold is pre 33, love those designs, and the history behind it is just wonderful! Most of mine I have purchased from large dealers, and since I have purchased it, it has done nothing but go up in value. I did not worry about the premium, and now they are worth a lot more than the price I paid. Started in 2009 buying for a little over spot, because there wasn't much premium then. When crunch time comes, if it does, the higher grade coins will not trade for more value, the gold will just be gold, so the lower grades will work as well as the really classy stuff. I have some of all, but my favorite is the 20 dollar double eagles!

Before 1933, a lot of American gold coins went overseas as part of financial transactions; a lot has been coming back from Europe in recent decades. Eminent dealer and author Dave Bowers writes that he went to a Swiss bank seeking American $20 gold coins. The banker told him, Yes, we have them, but if you want more than 100,000 of them, I'll have to get my supervisor!
Pre 33 is pretty special stuff. It's the one bullion category I end up busting the budget on. What do you think the best pre 33 coin is for weight stacking?
great video on Pre-1933 Gold. I stumbled onto your channel. Subscribed to your channel cause I'm addicted to anything about Precious Metals. I have mostly Pre - 1933 gold in my precious metals stack. only one foreign gold coin with Napoleon from1813 and two modern gold coins that I wear as rings. My most favorite gold coin in my precious metals stack my 1915 Saint Gaudens Gold Double Eagle that I put on layaway.
That coin is beautiful. That exact coin is my ultimate bucket list coin. I'd buy that coin right now if the price was right. The reverse is the best on those than any other coin.
