The Sultan had so many sons that they were basically interchangeable and replaceable, even setting aside the fact that they’re the only ones who could threaten his throne. But he only had one daughter so of course it makes sense that she would be comparatively more beloved.
Honestly it would have been best for everyone if Hurrem had mostly girls because if her oldest was a boy and the rest of them were girls, then when her son died of the plague there would be no rivalry and Mustafa would have been the next sultan.
