Awesome results! Personally, extreme realism does not matter. Personal satisfaction and pursuing our own ideas on how a model should look matter. Your technique is flawless and inspirational. Thanks for another great video.
In the last week I’ve watched a whole bunch of videos on this subject, and yours was the easiest to understand. Very good demonstration and narration. Thanks.
Perfect timing for TH-cam to pop this video into my feed, I have heard of this techniqe and wanted to try it. Currently I am sanding joints on a 1/72 Lancaster, then the plan is to splash black stynilrez primer over the kit to use as black base. My paint mule will get some workout to dial in thinner/paint ratio and pressure before I tackle the Lanc though.
@@arewethereyetmodeling2196 1/48 b26 marauder. Special edition monogram 1998. It has resin upgrades for turret, cockpit, and nose gear bay. I opened all doors and going to scratch build rear bomb bay. Some hate this kit for fit issue's but I had none with my kit. In fact the cockpit glass is so nice I won't glue it in so you can examine the great detail this kit has. Cheers!!
Hey, so I have 50 airbrushes. Don’t focus on the airbrush, you can use pretty much use any decent airbrush for this. It’s the technique that’s most important. For the compressor, I use a Sil-20a. It’s an oil compressor, which makes it so quiet that I forget it is on. It is whisper level, but it is pricey. However, if you take care of it. It will last a long time. I’ve had mine for 15 years.

I take it that black basing starts by laying down a coat of black primer? Great tutorial.
@@smellyfella5077 you are correct! Either black primer or black paint. But the background must be black for it to work.
