Braun is expensive because its German and lasts very long. Dawlance Anex etc are chinese made so okay for the price. If you can afford go for braun otherwise dawlance. Keep an eye on Braun facebook page and website and they provide discount offers time to time.

Can't say anything about dawlance as i haven't used it. Braun is good so far.

Yes you can use it in making a batter for cake, the whisker attachment is quite good in making cream frostings and beating up eggs.
