  • flysky-ia6b to 10 channel firmware mod. If using ia6b you can use ppm for 8 channels with the apm 2.6 and 2.5.2
    alex56ma Myasichev for pointing my error..
    according to github.com/pov...
    the instructions the ppm should only be able to do 6 channels , so I did a huge mistake and assumed the actually readme was correct. Regardless it works with 8 channels maybe even 10. ..but I've only confirmed the 8
    So with that if you have a ia6b receiver You don't have to get the 10 channel or the arduino if you are happy with just the 2 dip switches for flight modes and 2 variable dials....

    goo.gl/90xIFK // fs-i6 with ia6b
    goo.gl/aPvNnv //fs-i6 with ia6 .you need to get either ia6b or ia10 separately

      @@technicalhackeryt5770 hi are you running on apm2.6 or pixhawk.. and did you disable arming check if your in your house?.. Like can you still do radio calibration in mission planner? again if your using apm 2.5 ect..

      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      here is the arming check part.. in another video i show
      th-cam.com/video/mrBWEATUbus/w-d-xo.html
      also go to radio calibration and confirm it works when you turn on your transmitter.. if so do a calibration and also make sure to move the dip switches as well and make sure channel 5/6 move..on the right side.
      then try to disable arming check.. and also if you forgot you need to reverse channel 2 on the transmitter to work with apm.. other wise it wont arm.
      and also check to see if your in the right mode to arm it under flight modes.. you can move your dip switches in that screen to see if it working

    Hi ,
    Thanks you for your help .Finally I could calibrate ESC and spin motors. But there are problem which I am still facing. Please go through the problem I am facing in the below description.
    As you know I have pixhawk 2.4.8 and a hexa frame S550. I am facing some problem with it. Please help me
    1. Main out 3 of pixhawk seems to be the problem. Whatever ESC I connect I am not able to spin motor. It was working fine before. But with other Main out's I am able to spin. What could be the problem here? How do I resolve? I had flashed Hexa firmware, Octo firmware and quad firmware. None of these firmware worked for me on main out 3 .
    2. As I am not able to use main out 3, I had to flash octo firmware for the pixhawk on my hexa frame. So , I could use main out 7 and able to spin the motor. So all my 6 motors spins with octo firmware. Now I am able to arm the drone. But when I try fly , it leans or drifts towards left side. I am not able to control it and I have damaged my hexa frame. I am using FSi6 transmitter. Do I have to trim? or Do I have to calibrate compass. or Is it because of the Octo firmware flashed on hexa frame? How do I handle levelling issue? Please help me.

      i know on apm 2.6 i made special firmware to change motor outputs if one is bad.. .. and yes your leaning is because wrong firmware.. however you should be able to do it with pixhawk and set motor 3 to something else.. try to fallow these instructions .. before you change firmware look at the number for motor output 8 and set that number for motor output 3 ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-rcoutput-mapping.html

      also if your new to mission planner you have to go to "configtunning"-- "Planner" then change "Layout" to "Advanced" then you can see "full parameter tree" ect..

      @@ModItBetter As I am a beginner I was not aware of these. I could finally fly the drone with your help on pointing me to the problem and suggesting the solution. I am very thankful to you.
      One question in my mind is :
      Can I flash Hexa firmware and select quad frame? or flash quad firmware and select hexa frame and open up outputs?

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tharunjavalimn I am not sure if you can do that i've had issues where i had to force the frame in mission planner in param tree.
      so make sure your frame is hexa and the firmware is hexa..
      Also because your new .I would set these to this
      ANGLE_MAX,2200
      ANGLE_RATE_MAX,18000
      This will make your quad not so touchy and want to crash while going forward ect..
      I would also set failsafe .. to land.. until you got some good return to land.
      and if your in a open field I would also change return to land height from 1500 (50) feet to 424 .. about 13 feet. (RTL_ALT,1500)
      at least for your first few flights . while you test return to home ect..
      this way it wont go up 50 feet and if you did something wrong you wont loose it. Unless you are surrounded by tree's ect..
      However I would still set it to 424 for the first few test just make sure no tree's around.
      Your first return to home test should be this..
      Place hexa in front of you about 3 feet.
      arm it and bring it up in the air about 6 feet ..
      fly it about 20 feet in front of you in a straight line.
      Now flick the return to home. .what should happen is it should raise couple of feet and come straight back towards you.
      If for any reason at all it is not coming straight back towards you flip it out of return to home.. bring it down .. and call it a day and figure out what is wrong. If you have a fail safe to return to home, instead of "Land". You would of just lost your hexa..

    HA HA, I also never tried it and did the whole Arduino thing (what a ballache). The Arduino stuffs around with my failsafe so I'll be happy to turf and and use 8ch PPM. Thanks for shedding some light on the matter!

      Your welcome, It was all on alex being so polite in the other video comments . I was actually trying to reason with him that he was wrong some how.. I could not believe it actually worked with 8ch where the readme states the max is 6. . .. I took more time in the comments finding the quote from the readme to copy and paste that it took me to just try it out lol.. Honestly I don't like having another man in the middle from my receiver anyways ,I'm also just running ppm now.

    Bangs are the S1 and S2 ports on the bottom of the cx 20 now unusable , so i can un plug them and just use chanel 7 and 8 on the apm now ..
    Thanks Edit .. actual Fact could i not just plug those two bottom s1 s2 to chanel 7 and 8 so i can just plug n play with what servo i like ?
    just needing one for Payload Bait dropper ..... nothing else will be attached

      correct .. if you have 10 channels or even 8 showing when using ppm .. you need to setup mission planner like this if you are going to use a gimbal that is..
      and like you said you use channel 7 and 8 output on the apm. for the cx20 2 gimbal wires

    Have u mix mode channels(5&6) after 10ch firmware upgrade?
    Is mixing channels is essential ??for mode selection

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi my first video i had done mixing.. but i was screwing around and found that end points is just faster
      th-cam.com/video/Ir0OZmRPpyU/w-d-xo.html
      I show end points after i show the combining of channels..
      original way I had done it was like this.
      th-cam.com/video/Vyt2d8rXkws/w-d-xo.html again i show the mixing after I show the aux setup.
      Its up to you which way you want to do it..in fact you can do both if you really want to as well...
      to answer your question .No you don't need to mix but you need to set end points and combine the channels.

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      and I'll also add .. its really easier if you turn on your transmitter.. go into mission planner and go to flight modes. while you set your end points..or do the mixing you can see your progress in real time with the green box moving to each mode.

    can i upgrade fsi6x to 10channel ?because it shows content only for i6 in youtube
    and i having flysky data cable .itS not detecting my transmitter help me iam in urgent

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the fsi6x i think is already a 10 channel so you don't need to mod it you just need the receiver for it? for example 10 channel.
      I would not try the firmware on it it might brick it .. I Don't own one so my knowledge is pretty slim

    Hi,
    I have FSi6 Transmitter and FSi6B receiver. I see ppm/ch1 in my FSi6B receiver. I have enabled ppm on rx setup of receiver. And it is connected to RC port of pixhawk 2.4.8.
    I am not able to do ESC calibration through pixhawk for one motor which is connected.
    Do I need ppm encoder to connect from FSi6b receiver to pixhawk?
    Do I need to setup any parameters on the pixhawk using mission planner?
    Am I missing something here?

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you go into radio calibration does your transmitter work? for throttle and everything else.?
      if so .. pixhawk does have a calibration option or if your doing it the old way.. you need to arm the quad then go throttle up .. then plug in the battery. .. Keep in mind you will have to disable arming checks as well.

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      also i should of asked can you arm the pix and move the throttle up to make the motor turn.. if so you should be able to calibrate it then.

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      and to spam you a tad.. if everything works accept the calibration for some reason.. You can connect 1 motor at a time directly to the receiver channel 3 / Throttle .... Also i should note just in case you didn't you need to reverse channel 2 on your transmitter for the pix..

    • @ModItBetter
      @ModItBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      and the spam continues.. did you go to settings on your transmitter and change it to ppm output? ( 2:36 ) if you don't have that option you might have to update your transmitter with modded firmware. here is a video on that.. in the description I have a link to the cable that makes it way easier and you don't have to take anything apart..and can skip to the software section of the video.. th-cam.com/video/o-gEJ_U3GDI/w-d-xo.html or if you only need 6 channels ..then you can get a ppm encoder like you suggested for the pix

    • @tharunjavalimn
      @tharunjavalimn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your reply. Yes I have enabled ppm output using the transmitter and also I am able to calibrate ESC by directly connecting receiver channel 3 to ESC. I am able to spin motor. But through pixhawk I am not able to calibrate ESC. I have connected ppm/ch1 of receiver to pixhawk rc port and from pixhawk to esc. I don't have ppm encoder. Do I have to buy ppm encoder?
