I had no idea they lost 18 in the row. I for the most part only watch Kings games and when they played the kings last they had 3 wins and that was a month ago lol. In defense to Victor Wembanyama, I remember back when Igor was the coach of the Suns, the Suns lost 18 or 19 in a row with Devin Booker and finally got their first win against the 2019 Bucks who had the best record at the time.
@@Truth-time I have and my position stands. NOBODY never brings up Big Z unless they are trying to nullify LeBron success. Again.. 18 STRAIGHT losses is insane .
I am not surprised that the Spurs lost 18 games in a row. This is primarily due to their tough schedule (probably the toughest in the league). They have a very young team, and apart from Wemby, their defense is not strong (28th in the league). In addition, other than Wemby, they lack outstanding players. Furthermore, Wemby doesn't have a true point guard, except for Tre Jones. However, Pop has not started him with Wemby, which seems like a poor decision. In my opinion, all these negative factors combined can explain why they lost 18 times. Oh, and they're tanking for Nikola Topic, too.
We need a true point guard. We are missing so many lob opportunities. If we could get Russell Westbrook or Chris paul on cheaper deals for then end of their career would be nice. If we had one above average passer wemby would be averaging 26
Pop just wants to see wemby play. The roster around wemby isn't very good and aren't even looking for wemby to score. Spurs with 3rd most cap space and 17 first round picks aren't about rushing into anything and I'm here for it.
We’re talking 18 in a row. Do I expect him to carry them to the playoffs or even the play-in? No. But they’re saying you’re a better prospect than Lebron and KD and you can’t get one on your own to break the streak?
@@Truth-time there’s no generational talent in the history of the game that’s lost that many games in a row. I don’t care if the spurs go 10-72, 18 in a row is on your resume. @@Truth-time take your all caps ass on somewhere else. I said what I said and I stand on it. Hopefully he’ll catch the lakers lacking tonight, but if not as long as the tally on them loses run up it is what it is.
The Spurs need a point guard DESPERATELY. These other Spurs players don’t look at Wemby as the franchise, they are trying to get their own. Spurs need someone who’s going to get Wemby the ball.
I’ve watched a number of the Spurs games this year because Wemby was the most interesting player to watch coming into the season IMO. I said after the first game that what he needed more than anything else was a pure point guard. He has a bunch of guys on his team who literally don’t know how to use him or feed him the ball in ways where he can create for himself and for others. He has guys on his team that care more about getting their shots off then realizing that they have a guy on their team that is already so skilled as a teenager plus his size, that he can literally be a mismatch for 95-97% of the league if he was used right. Also, everybody’s favorite coach Gregg Popovich should not be let off the hook either. Since all his star players led by Tim Duncan have either retired or forced to trade in Kawhi Leonard‘s case, Popovich hasn’t looked like the all-time great coach that everyone says he is. Maybe HE’S more of the problem then most of us realize.
Totally agree. It's head scratching how wemby's teammate misses open looks or lobs to him . Don't know what's going on but gregg pop have to make plays for him . There's a reason why he's the number 1 pick and that should translate to him as the number 1 option.
@@gilberthamilton6370 Wemby would draw foul after foul after foul. The Spurs need 2 or 3 vets. They don’t have to be LBJ, Steph or KD level vets but someone that can get Wemby going early.
7'4" hanging out around the Logo..... Sorry, but his butt should always be within 10 ft of the rim because at that height, he can grab offensive rebounds, score and playmake and no one would be able to do a darn thing about it.
You seriously have to understand personal and player tendencies... For the majority of their games: His starting center was Zach collins who sits in the paint every possession because his 3s are horrid his pg was Sochan who lacks a reliant outside shot and defenders sag off and he dribbles with his head down which leads him to dribble into the paint without a plan. Keldon's most efficient and most taken shot is his drives/layups. Wemby sitting in the paint clogs the paint and basically has him being triple-teamed Thats wasting energy when defenders are allowed to push and be physical with you in the post position. Having him sitting in the paint basically makes every other player other than Vassell ineffective. And Branham gets zero attention on offense from defenses.
18 in a row for the spurs is crazy then you got the pistons on a 22 game losing streak. Check out the Magic though 16-7 third in the east they've managed to climb out the cellar.
If this was a Brotha Coach he would have been fired by now! Especially after running off your Star player years ago. The Duncan coaching bandage didn’t work Lol Lakers regrouped faster after Kobe than the Spurs with Duncan 🤔
While I am not a Pop fan, he has won more games than any coach in NBA history, had 22 seasons in a row in the playoffs, and has 5 rings for a franchise that didn't have much of a winning tradition before he got there. Wouldn't that have something to do with him not being fired?
Rob is right. 18 in a row from a generational prospect shouldnt be excused. Yes Chris its bad teams every year but how many all time bad teams. Its a difference 3 teams fighting for worse record maybe in history and season just started. Detriot can even up with a 35 game losing streak and finish 5 in 77. But besides that point. Rob is right. U can lose games as a rookie. But 18 straight is wild. U can lose 18 games but in a row is different. Thats almost 2 months of losing , we seen one player can take over a game and win it. If wemby that generational prospect u gotta stop this streak. Play all 40mins and go crazy on a bad team.
Rob is wrong, it is not Wemby's fault. Wemby is averaging 28 MPG. Bron had 40 MPG in his rookie season with 16.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists over his first 20 games. He also had his teammates trying to actively pass to him. This is no where near Wemby fault. It is hard to build rhythm and learn the game as a number one option on a poop team only playing 28 minutes.
@ijedmeer8528 it is wemby fault. Cause he can say something. Difference with lebron he was the leader since HS. Enter the league took over. He didn't care. He literally had teammates who didn't like him and talked bad about him when he got drafted. And lebron took over. Stop making excuses for a prospect who suppose to be the next greatest of all time. He can take over. He don't demand the ball. He don't get in his teammates face. He not going to pop telling him to keep me in a game to end this streak. He ain't making me noises. So stop it. He face of the league he can do that not to say everyone can. But faces of the league can get away with stuff others can't
im glad someone finally said something his stats are incredible but they need to translate that to wins ill give it some time obviously rome wasnt built in a day
We're tanking! If we were trying to win games, Pop wouldn't be playing Sochan at PG. The fact we're playing a forward at PG, even though its failing horribly means we're not aiming to win games. Pop isn't a fool. He obviously knows we'd win more games with Tre Jones at PG. He just isn't trying to win games and be a mid-table team cos we're trying to build around Wemby through the draft, like we did in the past.
Wemby needs to have that Kobe in him. He should be dogging his teammates in practice. Calling them bitches and everything. I don't care if they hate him. They are expendable and he is not.
@MartyMcFlyGuy he ain't built like that, but I do think he is trying way to hard to fit into the system Pop plays and be a team player but after losing 18 straight I would stop passing as much and be James Harden, I am the system 😂
@MartyMcFlyGuy he doesn't even need to dog his own teammates, he needs to dog the opposing team! His best game of the season by far was the last time they won which was against the Suns. Media hyped him up to much! We all seen this coming. And the one thing that is stoping him from being great , is his size and it’s not the height. He is definitely the best on his team but it’s not enough for the rest of the league. He will still get his on some games because of his height but he does not scare any teams.

He was never a good coach. He had great players like most mediocre white coaches
ive never said this but i agree with rob . give him that same criticism like yall gave him all that praise
Chris is tight! His Wemby Hype Train is on an 18 game losing street lol
I’m glad Rob calling Chris out his glazing of these players 😂
Chris starting a petty argument over nothing! I’m with Rob on that.
19 year old Wemby is allowing his HOF coach to coach, and that has resulted in 18 losses. Period.
You call that coaching 😂
Pop should have retired 5 years ago
Exactly. The early returns dont look good, but the actual results will come later. Think economics. Dig first, money later.
It's not just the coaching, his shooting efficiency is trash for a big man. His shot IQ is low. He's just a raw talent at this point. He ain't ready to affect wins like Luka did
That’s because they only give him the garbage shots. He needs to chuck those 3’s otherwise he’ll never get the ball back.
Media hype him up now there gonna bash him😂
That's what Devils do
I knew the Spurs would be bad but they shouldn’t be this bad.
Pop is like Belichek, time to go bud
Youngest roster and zero established vets.. They have zero players that display counters to what the scouting report says
@@SuperYoungjb I understand they are a bad team we all knew they would be but 18 straight loses is ridiculous unless they trying to tank. If this is what they are doing then they are doing a masterful job but I don’t think that’s the case because it’s no superstar prospect in college that I know of that’s tank worthy.
@@RonJP-pm7jp this is the most talented deep era in NBA history. Teams are loaded now.. especially in the west. And let people tell it this era of basketball is the most competitive era of basketball of all time. Looks like there are a lot of plumbers and firemen out there. Must be the expansion era out there.
Yeah, having 3 teams at expansion- level is pretty pathetic.
You can say that when the NBA created 6 teams put into the league right when Jordan hit his prime, and a lot of them were Eastern teams. The Mavs were created in 80-81, but obviously still building as Jordan came in. Right before he started winning titles, huh.

I come for the glib commentary, I stay for the crazy bickering 😂
I don’t think they’re not passing to Wemby cuz they don’t trust him I think cuz they’re all so young and unproven they’re selfishly wanting to display their own talents. There’s a competitive/jealousy factor. But Pop is to blame he needs to work out more plays to go to Wemby and stop just letting them play how they want
They trying to get bronny 😂😂
No one was calling Devin Booker the greatest prospect in NBA history, though.
Pop has the audacity to tell the crowd to stop booing leanard lol?
They should be cheering him considering he got the hell out of there.
U know robs mad when he says “cmon man”
These two are the best of all. Like an angry husband and wife. The funniest sports show
Aye yall got a lil spicy around the 10:40 mark 😂😂😂
Rob does have a point. Losing 18 for a GENERATIONAL talent is ridiculous no matter how you slice it.
@@Truth-time I have and my position stands. NOBODY never brings up Big Z unless they are trying to nullify LeBron success. Again.. 18 STRAIGHT losses is insane .
Great commentary 👌🏾
Is Rob seriously folding clothes on the pod? Bad enough dude on this phone half the time, now he doing laundry?

He is going to be cooking next too, He is taking the couple part literally
Seriously 😂. I never see him sit still lol

they are actually funny together
Pop just wants to see wemby play. The roster around wemby isn't very good and aren't even looking for wemby to score. Spurs with 3rd most cap space and 17 first round picks aren't about rushing into anything and I'm here for it.
10:38 LMAO! Nah Chris being petty and he knows it
We’re talking 18 in a row. Do I expect him to carry them to the playoffs or even the play-in? No. But they’re saying you’re a better prospect than Lebron and KD and you can’t get one on your own to break the streak?
@@Truth-time shut up all caps. 🤣
@@Truth-time there’s no generational talent in the history of the game that’s lost that many games in a row. I don’t care if the spurs go 10-72, 18 in a row is on your resume. If the spurs had won half of these games with the stats he’s putting up with the minutes he’s playing he’d be getting the credit, so he gotta take the hit too. Great things in his future for sure, but homie said yeah I agree with Bron I’m an alien and an alien can’t get you one game outta 18?!
@@Truth-time WTF that gotta do with my point. Show me the 18 game losing streak Lebron had in his rookie year then we can have a conversation dummy. Yall on this app aren’t about to make me think losing 18 games in a row and being called the best prospect in the history in game since Lebron, in some cases people were saying over Lebron and even Kareem, is what’s up. If you’re like that you gotta get one of those games even on a bum ass team
The media is scared to death to criticize Coach Pop lol
It is time for pop to take some heat
The ability to make a post entry pass is HIGHLY underrated!
Any idiot can jack up 3s
Chris was on the bandwagon of saying he will be one of the greatest players ever but u can't lose 18 in a row now the hype u can't even hear it
I swear if the Spurs just give Wemby the ball they’ll start winning games…
The point guard doesn’t even look for him .. like what???
@@gilberthamilton6370 Wemby would draw foul after foul after foul. The Spurs need 2 or 3 vets. They don’t have to be LBJ, Steph or KD level vets but someone that can get Wemby going early.
7'4" hanging out around the Logo..... Sorry, but his butt should always be within 10 ft of the rim because at that height, he can grab offensive rebounds, score and playmake and no one would be able to do a darn thing about it.
You seriously have to understand personal and player tendencies...
For the majority of their games:
His starting center was Zach collins who sits in the paint every possession because his 3s are horrid
his pg was Sochan who lacks a reliant outside shot and defenders sag off and he dribbles with his head down which leads him to dribble into the paint without a plan.
Keldon's most efficient and most taken shot is his drives/layups.
Wemby sitting in the paint clogs the paint and basically has him being triple-teamed
Thats wasting energy when defenders are allowed to push and be physical with you in the post position.
Magic are at the end of the rebuild like OKC. SA Det and DC are at the start
Stop it. Too many of our people looking for ways to be a victim. 🤦🏿♂️
@@oaktree1626 victim of what? Fact is Doc rivers get fired after bad seasons but Pop still here with no media push back or anything that’s funny to me
Damn Chris wiped the floor with Rob on this 1
Rob is right.

I guess just like Phil Jackson? What did Phil do without MJ Kobe Shaq or Pippen.
This is my thought as well. No reason to win so much. One more year of development and tanking

Nah its on the coaches and GM half the Spurs team rn should be in the g league.
@MartyMcFlyGuy he doesn't even need to dog his own teammates, he needs to dog the opposing team! His best game of the season by far was the last time they won which was against the Suns. The 5th game of the season he had 38 and 10 against the Suns and they won. That was his highest point total yet and 2nd highest fg%. He gotta step it up

If wembenyama has a team high average points at what 18? Then what the hell is the rest of the team doing??
Media hyped him up to much! We all seen this coming. And the one thing that is stoping him from being great , is his size and it’s not the height. He is definitely the best on his team but it’s not enough for the rest of the league. He will still get his on some games because of his height but he does not scare any teams.
He's really good but it's the coach fault and the PG. I have watched their games and wemby needs a PG to give him easy buckets. It's on coach and PG to make plays for him they rarely do.
Well he is a teenager of course he doesn't scare anybody. Imagine how great he can be with a decent supporting cast.
He already scares them defensively. He scares people from shooting within ten feet of him and averages 4+ blocks+steals.
