I would love to see a video series showing your current top 10 coloring pencils (and where-what they are best used for. Top 5 watercolor products (inktense, pallette, neos, etc.) And top supplies like this, but up to date.
I got a blue Afmat sharpener and I LOVE it! I appreciate it handling my Brut squares with ease. I use it for my cheap graphite pencils and let it go until it auto stops because they're cheap pencils and the perfectly sharp tip makes me so happy.
Yea the auto stop works but it actually gets to the sharp point sooner. So I just have it go around 3 times, check and go from there but I even run expensive pencils in it
Hi, Kori. I'm a new subscriber and relatively new colorist and I appreciated this video so much! I bought the Amfat sharpener and the Brutfuner pencils on your recommendation. Love, love, love the sharpener. It's by far the best one I've tried. Haven't used the pencils yet but am looking forward to trying them out. Loving your videos, learning so much!!! Thank you for your channel.
Thank you so much Kori! Great video! Also I enjoyed being able to put a face with the hands!!! Well done! I am not yet used to pencils so I have some learning and playing to do. But that is part of the fun! Happy New Year! You are precious! Thank you so much!
Kori I highly recommend the white cutting board from dollar tree it’s the same as the Caran d’ache palette and a bit bigger. It does have a rough and smooth side too. I still like my Caran d’ache more for travel though
@@ColorfullyOptimistic was it the white one? I could have sworn that it had a smooth side? I can’t check it though because I’m in Mexico was here for a wedding on nY eve now we are sick 😷 so sad, that’s why we didn’t want tp go but the groom forced me stayed on the phone with me until I bought my ticket 🤣anyway. Loved your picks for 2021! Agreed with all except copic-I can’t justify the price. It’s good to know about arteza though I just thought they were same generic markers as ohuhu
Afmat also has the same sharpener that is rechargeable so you don’t have to it have it plugged in. I do find that the auto stop feature on the one you plug in is better than the rechargeable one though. I have both, one I use on the couch and the other I keeper plugged in on my desk
I love my Brut squares too ❣️ I’m very tempted by several of your faves! The Paul Ruben colors look wonderful. I’d love to see you do a pan pastel tutorial! Happy New Year, Kori 🥰
I loved your list!! Mine would have my pablos by caran dache as my number one purchase cuz I got them on sale for $185 andthe holbeins I snagged off the Japanese Amazon website for another great deal. But I also got the prismacolors for $85 and I built up my art collection big time this year so my list would be mainly pencils lol I did buy some ohuhu markers that I love and the 120 square brutfuners are awesome pencils I got as an early Christmas present. I'd say besides that it would be my Camilla derrico coloring books, my couple Kerby rosanes coloring books and johanna basford coloring books would probably fill in the other slots...oh and my metallic set of gelattos and 180 shuttle art gel pen set. I cant believe I got all that this year lol technically the pablos were a birthday present to myself at the end of last year so they might not count but they did kick off this art obsession I have into full gear lol before that I had a few prismacolors left from my boyfriends art supplies from college, some crayolas and crazy arts to color with and I didn't have enough of the prismacolors to do them justice (like 5 half size pencils left over) lol so going from that to the caran dache pablos, was like a dream. They are amazing pencils and hopefully you get more time to play with the supracolors cuz I did also get those and they are so fun to play with. Makes it easy to have time to paint! Although I didn't get any metallic paints or the neocolors which im dying to get my hands on sometime here soon lol my husband is going to hate me lol But thanks for the great video and can't wait to see next week's!
I did get Pablos, but they aren't my favorite this year just because I haven't really played with them much. Awesome Christmas gifts! I did a video on my favorite 10 books this year too.
Hm, favourite art supply this year? I think it might be the Inktense. I bought the Bruts this year too though and enjoy using them Happy New Year to you and your family and dogs
I am very tempted to get a second paint puck to clean my makeup brushes, I think it is a great product to help with dexterity issues. Emily contact at arteza said they are working on refills for there markers. I am in love with the new brush nibs they came out with! Just need lighter colors!
Yes I know they're working on it. They and Ohuhu have said this awhile now. But the reality is until they release them I don't see it 😆. Also Arteza needs to add some more colors to balance out and get rid of the stupid sets they have
Thanks for sharing, just started last yr, mostly my tops..my no regrets are FS-Polychromos Duhrer Pablo Luminance + Neopastel 96 Derwent LF Inktense Colorsoft Prisma Kohinor Holbein
I have agree with the Brutfuner 120 .... as of now 🤣 I haven't played wit all of my sets but I do keep going back to the 120 cause I feel they fit my style of coloring the best. 🥰 Thank you for sharing❤
Very nice and curated selection, all my supplies were basically bought this year, so my absolute favorite purchase are the Inktense and then the Graphitint, and the Caran d’Ache portrait Luminance. Wishing you the best for the New Year!
What is your favorite pencil set of all you have? I must have missed it😄 My favorite for 2021 was the 520 brutfuner set and the 144 of black widow. Waiting for the new dragon set to be available here.
So, I use ink brushes and stencil brushes. Stencil brushes are a little rougher, while the inking brushes are softer, but I feel the color is more concentrated with the stencil brush. Just depends on the look you want. Here are the stencil brushes: amzn.to/347cpwP, and here are the inking brushes I use: amzn.to/3IIZhNz
Hi Kori, great video as always even if it ends up costing me money. Lol. This is going to sound strange, but will you check your green Copic YG99? The cap looked like it was separated in your video. By the way, congratulations on getting 98% of the set. They are definitely worth the investment.
The paint puck cups are $34 on Amazon right now. I was looking at getting one and passed because it was so expensive. 😫 I just cannot get over how expensive Copics are as well. I just got the 216 set of Ohuhus for Christmas from my husband. I’ve ordered a couple other brands of alcohol markers to compare. I’m planning to buy a small set of Copics to add to my comparison. I went to purchase the small Copic set this week and it was $54 for SIX markers. 😳 I just couldn’t do it. 😂
So Copics are expensive, but they have the best nib and ink I've seen so far, and I've looked at quite a few now. They are an upfront investment, but over time, they even out. The nib on an Ohuhu is nothing like a Copic, and right now you can't refill them (though supposedly they will add it but even then the range and nib are issues). But yeah, totally understand cost is an issue, which is why I initially had purchased just 10 a month.
@@ColorfullyOptimistic I want to try them. The price just makes me cringe. lol Meanwhile, I’m spending the same amount of money on different sets of “budget” markers to compare! 🤣
Have you tried to buy a six pack of Copics from Amazon? The price is usually good. I think Hobby Lobby sell Copic six packs for $54. Avoid! Last year I bought the earth essentials six pack from Amazon for $25. If you do buy Copics and want them to last, it’s a good idea to use smooth paper. I used mixed media paper and it ruined one of my nibs. I replaced the nib and it’s good as new. If you love to use Copics refills are another expense, but the refills and nib replacement will make your markers last for years.
@@shadowguard3578 yes, I just checked Amazon today and they are cheaper. Blick has them pretty cheap as well. I use Neenah Exact Index 110lb cardstock, which is SUPER smooth, for markers. That’s the paper that will be in the new swatch book that I’m making for the marker swatch chart option. I have close to full sets of markers from 3 different brands, two of the three are purchased in sets which I find annoying, and Copic refills would technically make them cheaper than any of those brands since the refills contain 25 refills. The Copics are just so cost prohibitive to obtain a large range of colors all at once compared to these other sets. Anyway, I’ll hopefully be able to do a video soon comparing the 3 “budget” sets that I have with the Copics. I might go to Blick this weekend and get a set of Copics. 😁
There’s a marker brand called Ink Lily which say they use a very similar nib and ink to Copic… it is their selling point and they are super expensive to buy the whole set…not as expensive as Copic…I have a few and I’m not sure I believe the hype…A basic case and number system same as Ohuhu…very odd…🥰
@@ColorfullyOptimistic …they are apparently refillable and sold in sets. They were launched on Create and Craft and they still have them and a few refills…I’m not convinced they are as good as Copics are supposed to be but if you look on here there maybe some videos…🥰

I may need a 2nd. Caran D'ache pallet. I 💜 my pallet also
I never thought I'd use it as much as I do
Great favorites.I have most of them as well.I have to add the sharpener to my list.🌸

I have the Paul Rubens but didn't realize the interior came out.... Amazed 🤯. That has potential galore
