- The PT-76-57 in War Thunder is a Light Tank with a 57mm autocannon that's got a laser range finder and a VERY fast reload. What makes the PT-76-57 special is that it fires an armor piercing high explosive. Where most autocannon tanks fire a solid projectile the PT only needs on good penetrating hit to cause colossal damage.
The 57mm autocannon also has INSANE zoom and when you're not zoomed in you have an excellent FOV. That makes it good for brawling as well as long range combat.
The mobility of the PT-76-57 is pretty good, too. The only thing letting it down is the poor armour, which isn't really an issue since everything else more than makes up for it.
Basically, imagine a ZSU-57-2 but you have one fully stabilized cannon! Insane! :)

Funny how Gaijin keeps increasing it's BR to the point where the tanks it faces are less armored than the WWII to post-WWII super heavy tanks that it used to face.
honestly I think it should either go up to 9.0 where armor is heavily angled and composite armor, or lower it to 7.3 to facing heavy armoured ww2 tanks, tho the laser range finder and stab need to be removed
Yeah I had it since shekelpass and it got easier to kill stuff as they raised it LOL
But I don't like over BR6 so hardly play it.
@Simon-tr9hv its a modernisation program so removing stabiliser and laser ranger finder would be entirely idiotic.
It basically is a 2S38 give it APFSDS and move it up to 10.0
its not the BR that is the problem. Its the rank. A br 8.0 at rank 5 (even used to be rank 4) simply nerfs how much you can grind with it. Its just nerfs the vehicles premium status.
If 1 cannon of a ZSU-57 can destroy the whole server, only god can imagine how it is with 2...
It only gets 4 round clips though. The PT-76 is belt fed/auto loaded

@@noahross6563it’s not the loading time that’s the issue, it’s the lack of stabilizer and zoom quality of the scope that make this deadly, plus the ZSU-57 scope bi-sects it’s firing pattern, ie: scope in middle- cannons surrounding it. Makes for difficult shots close up
thats a fair point. tbh ive never had a problem with it but i agree the lack of a stabilizer hampers its ability sometimes@@nmspy
@@noahross6563I have ~350-400 kills with the ZSU-57-2. It’s a great sniper if you can find a good spot, but also does extremely well in urban maps where you can easily catch people off guard. Firing on the move only works when the target is extremely close due to the guns extreme instability, and the heavy recoil can make fast firing at range extremely inaccurate. Even though it’s can be shot fully automatic, it’s better to use it bolt action style to keep the guns on target. It gets a belt of APHE very similar to the PT-76-57, and with often two rounds penetrating at once you get plenty of post pen damage.

You must not hear many accents. I grew up hearing a few different accents and don't have a hard time with them. I guess if you grow up with lots of accents around you your brain just gets used to different ones, like learning languages when you are young. I have never had a problem understanding Odd.

I don’t even mention of 14.5mm where lightly armoured tanks survive whole belts with one crew member is slightly yellow.
Whereas in reality it breaks down houses/walls/concrete and armoured trucks (e.g. one from the banks)/APCs in no time.

The main problem of this tank is that even if your halfway decent at flanking it can just rip through the opposing team
Here's some British (And the rest of the Commonwealth) things from WWII that can still be added to WT, IMO: The Coventry Armored Car (Plus it can go to France), The Centaur (Cromwell with a different engine, suspension, gun, and more.), The Deacon, The Sexton, The Bishop, The Humber Armored Car (The Mark III & IV specifically, as they have the 37mm gun from the Stuart.), The Cruiser Mk. V Covenanter, The Grizzly I (An M4A1 licensed-built by Canada.), The AC III (An AC I with a 25-pounder gun.), and The Light Tank Mk. VIII "Harry Hopkin" (An intended successor to the Tetrarch).

The first game was absolutely nasty, that 8 kill flank was one of the best things I've seen, you had free reign and they weren't able to do a thing.

Dumb thing used to be 7.7 I still think out of this, Type 87RCV and Puma that the RCV caused more chaos on release. 5 of them in your spawn in 15 seconds granted they rarely lived more than another 15s where as Puma's never died and PT's took out 6 people before dying.

I had to go and watch that initial flank again just for the sheer audacity of it!, as someone said in the comments one tank i don't regret the BP for.
I lost all 3 of my spawns to one of these things camping my team yesterday. Nothing you can really do to stop them from taking your tracks and barrel within seconds . Filthy good tank for someone with the bare minimum amount of game sense.
Ahh my favorite vehicle. Increasing its BR was actually a buff. At 7.3 there were more heavies it had trouble penning.😂

I’m so glad I was able to get this. It absolutely claps now that they’ve moved it up from fighting heavies to mostly light tanks. Been playing a ton of 8.3 with it, T-55, and the derp boat gun tank. Great SL printing lineup.
First time ive seen the nuke ending with a kill cam that was awesome!
Must be the easiest way to do the challenge: Get 30 kills in a light tank while going over 30kph. Automatic, stabilizer, Russian premium, fast.

The gun is a derivative of 1960 57mm AA
The engine is the same mid 60s engine BMP-1 uses
The most modern parts it uses is FCS, stabilization system and sights but good half of what makes all of this "modern" is not modeled in the game. And if you take a look at inside pictures it all look like ~60-70s soviet tech with analog switches and nixie tube displays.

A 60s gun fireing 60s ammo from a 60s chassis with a 60s engine. The only modern things it had is the laser range finder and stabiliser both of which appeared in the 70s.
@@seasuper3402 Let me be specific, M47G and Turm III versus IS-2, 3, 4M or 6, even T-10s. Yeah, HEATFS doesn't do much damage, but against a clumsy heavy tanks with a concentrated crew? More than enough. Everyone has their own pain, except wallet worriors

The PT-76B is not one of the worst.
When getting in to a game, it's a full up-tier, and seeing this vehicle as well as the T-55AMD-1 in the kill feed..
I often think to myself "do I really want to be bothered respawning?".
I do spawn another vehicle and just try to make the best of it, because 1 death leavers annoy me, but I still have the thought.
Crazy how low a BR this was when it was released. Still a great vehicle now!
not as crazy as 75mm EBR, i used to ride it around 6.3 when it was still 4.3

Oh ya I remember when this wreaked havoc when they first let it out on the Battle pass and I can't say I didn't take advantage of it 😁 I play it every now and then but its just up-tiers when I do.
I absolutely love this tank, it’s one of my favorite vehicles in the game. Even when bringing it up to higher tiers it preforms very well

Kugelblitz hit you hard , but as usuall on Russian premiums you only lost your barrel . You have zero armour and still survived a twin Mk103 and .50cal from behind . Just insanly OP premium .

I have it and I have avoided playing it like the plague. I remember when it first came out, it was so ridiculously undertiered it felt gross playing it. Push it to a higher BR, it still feels like cheating. What a ridiculous vehicle.
Oh, and it's amphibious, if you feel like being a little cheeky on the right map.
Unfortunately i didnt have this when it was 7.3 by the time i got it it was 8.3 (or 8.0 i cant remember) and hair under half what it cost now. But its easily my second favorite ground vehicle behind the bmd4. I dont even bother using it at 8.3, i just bring it to 9.0 with the bmd4, bmp2 and btr80

I kind of regret cashing this thing out. I don’t play enough USSR cause I don’t like it, so as a result I don’t use this vehicle often enough. Should have sold it for the $150+ it’s worth now.

I wonder why this is better than le olde ZSU 57, if the 57 has twice the guns, the same armor, but it has no stab or laser rangefinder or smoke, but its like 1 whole BR lower, it seems equal.

The average player is getting worse. Lately I've been driving rat vehicles or even just normal tanks, not firing at enemies, someone will drive past, then multiple others and not even check/notice. Not firing, hiding in a travel path seems to be top strat atm lol. Then I can kill most/all of them from behind... it's bizarre.

Honestly mate, 9k RP for 13 kills and a nuke with premium account and premium vehicle is not good at all. Even worse when you consider that people without a premium vehicle and premium account, will only get 3k RP. Plus 13 kills is not a common thing for the average player.
You may not have a spare 2000$ for the IS-7, but maybe gaijin will spare a good deed just for you, and give a week test drive of the IS-7 to you for a video.

All you need to know about this game. Conq killing 1 crew with gigantic cannon is just so painfull to watch and even more painfull to play, minor nations are punching bags with no real benefits and this is just tragedy.
To be fair apds is bad against light armour irl, militaries train their crews to shoot HEAT at light vehicles which the game also encourages.
This tank is absolutely broken!! It 1 shots tanks with ease and if it doesn’t it can shoot until the enemy blows up

I've gotten one in a 3min game total, including flying and dropping the bomb. Did a flank with the ZA-35 early game
very easy to balance. Send it to 7.3 and it's done. It'll be fighting tanks with REAL armor like tiger2h, jagdtiger annd there's nothing it can do to them uless they leave flanks unnprotected. Kida funny vehicle where you buff it by sending it higher in BR.

I'm in a 'tough' spot. I have 33K GE and can't decide what to spend it on. I don't play top tier anything except Naval, so I don't want an airplane over rank V or ground over rank IV. I do the War Bonds so I get two vehicles with the battle pass, but I don't want to _buy_ a battle pass. If I wait for half price season, I can literally buy every rank I through III ground in the game. But then there will not be anything to get from War Bonds. What I am left with is buying premium time, but it's about the worst way to spend them.
Does anyone have a better idea?
