I love his voice so much. He's a six octave vocal god that doesn't get enough recognition for the shit he can do. Only Mike Patton can scat thru a vintage gas mask retrofitted with an antique mic lol (see tomahawk - God hates a coward live ) live version is better and HEAVIER. fucking love it.
@Queen Kitty - Kat Little yep! He is the man!! As he aged, his voice only got more powerful and it reflects in talking voice. I was just surprised how uch through the years he changed. As you watch it happen it doesn't seem as extreme but side by side its extreme. I mean, I'm 44 and my 20 year old voice was still close to the same. His voice got much deeper and stronger in the mid 90s
When Mike Patton was just coming into national/international fame, his whole sarcastic shtick in interviews seemed, partially, to stem from his disdain for all the music industry superficiality and lameness; but, maybe to an equal extent, it may have also been his coping mechanism. Early on, he seemed unsure of what his public voice was going to/should be, so being a contrarian, and saying bizarre and shocking things, sort of kept interviewers & others at an arm's distance. He obviously tried to project confidence, but whenever I see his earlier interviews, I get a serious 'babe in the woods' vibe.
Totally agree. It's uncomfortable to watch. But then you see him talk about I am Legend, and you see he's found peace with discussing his talent. Also, we should note - he was so young in those earlier interviews, 20 years old?
Ben, by Michael Jackson is a soundtrack song about Ben a rat who hates humans, for obvious reasons. Ben starts a rat revolt against mean humans . Made in the 70s and later remade with Crispin Glover as the star human rat lover. Patton does the song justice 😊
I dont think jim ever liked mike. Jim was an old school metal guy. He was big into metallica. This whole rapping thing, the wacky personality with the constant sarcasm and goofing around, jim never seemed like he wanted anything to do with mike. Seemed like he couldnt put up with it for very long.
*cough-cough It's called "nervous-energy"... *tuts and that's what a sound-booth is for... I belted some chit over at RavenWood... poor fella who came around the bend to my belting it out with the scenery... nothing like public humiliation to keep you humble. right.
@@madeleinecallister3521 You heard what I said. Want me to amp it up for the hearing-impaired? I can't hear it, so it's not going to bother me. Loud is a 4letter word.
They are all equally the best, it’s hard to choose a favorite. But I’ll choose the clip where he mentions hotel doors and how the light switch is on the outside. I have the same reaction every time, so this one is a funny relatable thing. This compilation is well put together, unique. 🤘There are so many out there. Thanks for sharing it. 🏆 🥰🤮Mike Patton🫠🫠🫠 🌟Danielle/PlaidCashew

How can one man be so incredibly talented, humble , hilarious, handsome , absurdly eccentric and UNDERRATED? Love Mike Patton.
I never realized how much his talking voice has changed through the years. He sounds like a totally different person talking
Well shit he was still a wet behind the ears kid when The Real Thing album came out in 88. So was I lol
@Queen Kitty - Kat Little I had to go through year by year interviews to see. The biggest voice change was like 95 97 ish...

I was into Mr. Bungle before I was into Faith No More
@@ThatGuyJeremy I just love bungle not really faith no more as much. I feel crazy but I just can't seem to get into them.
@@Spectre-kf2td I felt the same way for a long time. I recommend listening to Angel Dust.
@@ThatGuyJeremy alright then I might. If I become a mega fan then I'll have you to credit.

I do need to listen to them some more
missed opportunity to put that drone footage in
True, I saw that one after I made this

Yes!!!
The return of Mike
6:12, he looks more like Mike Myers from Waynes World than Mike Patton himself lol
Love the music, but Mike Patton was born to do voice over work in video games.
Ben is legitimately a good song
What a fuck at 7:54 😂😂 actually what is he singing there?
