Offhand slot: Totem/shield/torches depending on the situation. Mainly totem though. 1st slot: Sword 2nd slot: Silk touch Pickaxe 3rd slot: Axe 4th slot: Shovel 5th slot: Bow 6th slot: Usually a riptide trident 7th slot: empty 8th slot: Rockets 9th slot: Food (I use steak because someone on the server I play on has a crazy fast cow farm.) (I have my 1st and 9th slots with hot keys Q and F respectively from playing Bedwars, and it lets me swap to my sword or food very quickly when in combat.) Inventory: I keep my chest plate in the very top left slot, so I can switch between that and elytra. I keep an ender chest right next to that. I keep arrows in the top right. Right above my pickaxe I keep a fortune pick just in case. Ender chest: I keep an extra elytra, a stack of rockets, food, a maxed out crossbow and rocket ammo for the crossbow. I keep a shulker box of backup gear, with fully enchanted diamond armor (I have a good trading hall), tools and weapons, and some torches, food, and blocks. I also keep multiple other shulker boxes of miscellaneous items and blocks and some slots for any diamonds that I find while exploring. And that’s it. :)
almost the same here, except I keep my bow in slot 2 cos I use it a lot, Silky Steve and Lucky Larry (pickaxes) in 3 and 4, then a shovel (with the other shovel ie fortune vs silk) in the slot above it, then a slot which changes depending on what Im doing, sometimes its blocks, sometimes its a bucket of water, then rockets, then food in 9. top row of e-chest is all shulkers, one full of building stuff, one for torches and arrows, one for potions, one for alternate weapons and armour, one for misc things like beacon and conduit stuff, scaffolding, a couple of totems, spare buckets of water, emergency food etc. mid and bottom row of e-chest is axes (I used to have an axe on the hotbar but I realised i very rarely wanted to switch to it quickly, I usually harvest a load of wood then put it away again. exploring mineshafts I will sometimes put it back on the hotbar tho), hoes & trident, gapples, bed, a stack of obby and a flint and steel etc. ofc I use different hotbar arrangement for special things like dragon, raids, ocean monument etc

Since I play hardcore, it is really useful to have my chestplate in my toolbar so that I can use a hotkey to instantly put it on in dangerous situations. A live saver!
It is! I actually do it the other way so most of the time i wear my chestplate cause its way stronger but when i wanna fly its an easy swap, the other way around is also really good.
let me share my one : 1. Chestplate/Elytra (whichever I am not wearing) 2. Sword 3. Ender pearls (or sometimes Bow or Crossbow or even trident) 4. Water Bucket (or sometimes laval bucket or potion in the nether) 5. [Insert Random item here] 6. [Insert Random Item here] 7. Food 8. Shovel 9. Pickaxe Offhand: Totem of undying stays there normally, but if I am using crossbow are my ranged weapon, fire works rockets or even harming arrows (thanks to Gustoff the fletcher). I don't remember anything I did according to the situation I am in, so that's it
off hand: food (if im mining it will change into torches) slot 1: sword slot 2: bow slot 3: pick slot 4: miscellaneous slot 5: miscellaneous slot 6: miscellaneous slot 7: bucket slot 8: extra food slot 9: rockets *Tip: i use the side buttons on my mouse to be slot 1 and 3 so i can easily switch between the two if im in a rough situation
I put my chestplate in one of the easy access slots and switch between elytra by aiming it my chest and press the button chosen its very useful on switching to fight mood faster
This was very helpful! I recently changed my setup a little bit, and this is the one below. I used to have food in 4, water in 5, torches in 6, and the rest depended on the situation. Then I maxed out my bow and needed a spot for it lol. My current hotbar setup: - Offhand: Totem, shield, or riptide trident (if I’m really late game and not playing hardcore.) - 1: Sword - 2: Pickaxe (usually silk touch) - 3: Axe - 4: Shovel - 5: Bow (Infinity) - 6: Food (Golden Carrots) - 7: Rockets - 8: Depends on the situation. Torches usually. - 9: Depends on situation. Blocks usually.
This was great!! I usually do it in a slightly different way: -Offhand: Totem/Shield (based on how early or late into the game I am) -1 Slot: Sword -2 Slot: Silk Touch Pick (Fortune Pick is above it in inventory) -3 Slot: Shovel -4 Slot: Axe -5 Slot: Bow/Trident (It switches randomly, one is always above the other in inventory) -6 Slot: Food -7 Slot: Scaffolding Blocks (usually cobblestone) -8 Slot: Either torches, rockets, or nothing -9 Slot: Water Bucket (This has saved my life multiple times) I’ve mapped my 1 and 9 hotbar slot keys to my side mouse buttons to access the sword and water bucket easier. In the inventory, I usually place arrows in the top left, with either chest plate or elytra to the right of it. Top right is always wood, so I can quickly make a crafting table or sticks or anything else on the go. I always keep a flint and steel above my food and a hoe above my shovel. My ender chest always goes above my sword, and the rest of the space is miscellaneous. My ender chest’s organization is always different depending on the world I’m on. I always put things in different places and they stay there, usually in shulker boxes once I get enough. This was a great video, thank you!
off hand: totem slot 1: sword slot 2: pick slot 3: axe slot 4: shovel slot 5: bow slot 6: water bucket slot 7: spyglass (im on bedrock btw) slot 8: rockets or torches slot 9: food i rebinded my 1 and 5 keys to my mouse side buttons so its way quicker to switch to my sword and bow
It’s remarkable how close this is to my default, except that i have a Riptide 3 Trident i keep in the third slot, so the Axe is in 4 and the shovel is 5. 6 is usually empty or a Bow, 7 is torches, 8 is food, 9 is ender chest
I've personally been using this hotbar for almost 2 years: Off-hand: Food 1: Sword/Trident 2: Bow 3: Pickaxe 4: Axe/Shovel 5, 6 and 7: Free slot for whatever I'm doing 8: Ender Pearls 9: Rockets
Seems pretty solid i just prefer not having food in my offhand since it is really important but still u dont have to use it yoo fast and ur able to just go to the slot and then a totem would save you and a shield would do a amazing job at protecting you if you pay attention
let me share my one : 1. Food 8. Shovel 9. @@vixheap I barely die once or twice a year in my survival so a totem is not that necessary, and even if I die most of the times getting my items back isn't that hard
You should also know about the middle *inventory* slot, if if you keep a shield in your off hand and a totem in the middle inventory slot, you can quickly press E F E to swap to totem Edit: the mouse pointed ends up on the middle slot if you have crafting recipe off
You can simply just press F without opening ur inventory huh, since as long as u have that item in your hand, it’s binded to « Swap to offhand » by default
I think for the offhand-slot flint and steel would be quite useful as well. If you are killing cows for food you can just right klick and light them on fire without having a cooldown on your axe and you can easily crit them.
Offhand: Totem, shield or torches 1- Pickaxe 2- Sword 3- Axe 4- Blocks to place 5- Water Bucket 6- Anything u like 7- Anything u like 8- Bow ow anything 9- Food
I want to say that everyone has different hotbar settings so they keep different things like I keep my elytra at 1st slot so that I when I am falling from high place I could quickly open inventory go to the chestplate and press 1
Yes thats a life saver man any hardcore player should do that. I get so pissed when hardcore players walk around without an chestplate on cause its less convenient and yep, they die
Mmm I always have my elytra on so I only keep a spare one in my inventory in case it breaks while flying. I keep my chestplate in my inventory too if I need extra protection and I can't fly in that situation
My hotbar: 1: pickaxe, 2: building block, 3: sword, 4: torch, 5-7: rarely used items as these slots are the hardest to select in my opinion, 8: fireworks, 9: food, offhand: shield. Possibly far from best, but i like it :) i'm still a newbie, started a month ago. my ender chest is usually full of shulker boxes with supplies and several empty, i also have anvil, diamonds, coal, iron and logs too. Thanks for the video!
For controller players, since you need to move horizontally along the hotbar, I like grouping it towards function: Mining: 9. Spade 1. Pickaxe with fortune III 2. Pickaxe with silk touch 3. Axe 4. Torches Exploring 5. Rockets Fighting: (Offhand shield) 6. Food 7. Sword 8. Bow Keeping torches, rockets and food in the centre, as they come in handy for all three: mining, exploring and fighting. I don’t leave open slots in the hotbar as they get clogged by anything you pick up. I also keep arrow(s), bucket of water, an ender chest and a shulker box in my inventory at all times. Each to their own of course, but thought I’d add as the console layout is quite different. Thanks yet again for the inspiring video❤️
I often keep my bow in my offhand as if you have a looting sword in your main hand, the effect counts even if you kill it with the bow. Also extra defense. Can be semi dangerous in the nether
For me, it's sword, bow, axe, pickaxe, shovel, blocks, water bucket, food, torch in the hot bar. In the actual inventory, it's minerals, stones, wood , extra food and extra torches. The three inventory slots on the far right is reserved for arrows
Offhand: Totem, shield Slot 1: Golden carrots Slot 2: Sword Slot 3: Pickaxe Slot 4: Bow Slot 5: Axe Slot 6: Shovel Slot 7: Water bucket Slot 8: Compass (loaded compass) Slot 9: Fireworks/Empty Ender Chest: Full netherite backup armor and tools Trident Backup totem Backup elytra Hoe Nether loaded Compass 9 diff. shulker boxes with various stuff I hope ur not gonna hate me by leaving shovel and having no space at main hotbar:)
@@vixheap well im using compass because wth coords its actually a little but confusing, although loaded compass is showing the way directly to my base area. And yes, i have 9 shulkers in my enderchest:D
I recommend to have a fire resistance potion and an extra totem. Well the totem can be optional but the potion is really necessary for many situations.
For late game in hardcore, I usually go: Offhand: totem 1: gaps 2: empty/current block 3: fortune pick 4: silk pick 5: sharp sword 6: smite axe 7: bow/trident 8: shovel/pearls 9: hoe/fireworks/food I keep the enderchest fillled with color coded shulkers, and usually keep several in my main inventory filled with pots, obi/flint & steel, fireworks etc
Remarkably similar to my layout. I usually go Sword, Pick, Axe, Shovel/bow, Food, Rockets, and leave the last three slots open for whatever I happen to need. Great video!
Off-hand Shield/Elytra 1) Bow/Trident=Primary missile 2)Sword=Primary Melee (Smite generally) 3)Axe=Secondary Melee (BoA/Silk Touch) 4) Shovel=(Silk Touch) 5)Pickaxe=(Fortune/Silk Touch) 6) Open/Block/Hoe (Fortune) 7)Open/Torches/Block 8) Food 9) Water Bucket/Rockets I like this set-up as you can scroll quickly to what is needed most next to your current selection. Your Sword is next to your Bow and Axe, and your Pickaxe is next to Blocks. Food=Eight=Ate, and you can easily switch from your Water Bucket/Rockets to Food or Missile Weapon.
My hotbar: Offhand - shield 1st - sword 2nd - bow 3rd - pickaxe 4th - axe 5th - / (Building) 6th - / (Building) 7th - / (Building) 8th - dirt or sometimes water bucket 9th - food Btw I am a redstoner who likes building and often plays bedwars. For building I generally only use middle click.
Pre-ender dragon i like a riptide trident in offhand, and after the dragon I use my totems Edit: In my ender chest, I usually have shulkers full of totems, rockets and food, along with bulk items like stone and dirt. I also have less used tools like hoe and shears.
My messy inventory: Offhand: varies, shield early game, torches when mining, most often food, sometimes rockets late game. 1st slot: axe 2nd & 3rd slot: pickaxes (1 fortune 1 silk touch) 4th: switches between bow, hoe, trident, sword, shovel etc 5th & 6th: usually empty 7th: typically torches food or rockets, whatever isn't in my off-hand 8th: water bucket 9th: riptide trident my armor consists of a turtle shellmet, leather boots, and an elytra and my ender chest is mostly full of shulker boxes my inventroy is near empty if im going exploring (to save room for loot) and if im building its typically full of all kinds of building blocks, possibly shulkers of them.
Mine is something like this: Offhand: shields (in early game or normal survival), totem (in hardcore) and torch(while exploring caves) 1st slot: pickaxe 2nd slot: sword 3rd slot: axe 4th slot: bow 5th slot: firework rockets 6th slot: temporary blocks 7th slot: food 8th slot: a shulker box 9th slot: random things lol Not the best but im used to it
My inventory is messed up and i never ever care to clean it Because I know what i dont need Now my hotbar is fixed af Off hand-shield Diamond armor not enchanted 1. Axe for weapon 2. Water bucket for mlg 3. Blocks-cobblestone 4. Pickaxe/shovel 5. Crossbow or bow 6.flint and steel/lava bucket 7.totem/random/ender pearls 8.as u told anything usful or handy such as golden apples? 9. What I use in my 1600 day hardcore Offhand: Totem Hot bar: silk touch pick, sword, shovel, bow, food, two empty spaces, fireworks, water. (I have 8 and 9 bound to my mouse side buttons) Inventory: left side, wonder chest, arrows, golden apples, chestplate, fortune pick, axe, trident, shield and then wonder pearls. Everything else is just miscellaneous
I love your content ShulkerCraft! You have everything anyone needs for Minecraft and your tutorials are really helpful and easy to understand and follow. I am so thankful for your helpful channel!
Mojang should add a feature in which even if we have chestplate equipped right clickig with elytra selected in the hotbar should swipe them. This will make switching between chestplate and elytra so lot easier and finally no death in the void my friends
I play bedrock edition and It's like that there it's so good. I have elytra/Chestplate on hotbar. Fall in Lava/Group of enemies? Put on Chestplate quickly. Fall from great hight/into void? Put on elytra really fast. It saved me so many times.
Offhand: food, shield or torch First slot: sword Second:pickaxe Third: bow Fourth: Water bucket Fifth: Axe Sixth: Shovel Seventh, eighth, and ninth: a combination of food, blocks, torches, or just a miscellaneous item
Instead of the left side of the main inventory being the armor, tools or other spare stuff like fireworks, I keep labeled shulkers across the top 9 slots, that hold everything I could ever want. Anything below that line or above the hotbar, is a temporary slot, and when using lots of materials for big builds, I fill those up with shulkers as well, but undyed to signify it's still temporary. Top 9 slots in order is (roughly): 1) tools/armor/elytra spares, 2) weapons/shield spares, 3) fireworks/totems/arrows/potions, 4) crafting stations/necessary blocks for those items (like crafting mats for them, or bookshelves for enchant table), 5) chest/shulker shells for spare shulker storage on demand, 6) valuables like ores/ingots/blocks and a stack of ender chests to help store more items, 7) food items, 8) rare items (like end crystals, enchanted gapples, mob heads, or rare enchant books like soul speed or the new sneak book), 9) and lastly, resources used in building the most common items needed, like wood or cobble. In my end chest, I usually just keep a copy of my 9 personal shulkers I carry everywhere, and a spare for any inventory items I might need to replace in the event of a death. Which still leaves plenty of room for storing stuff when I'm exploring and run out of space, which I usually fill with empty shulkers outside of 1 or 2 slots in case I need to store my valuables, or rares very quickly. Call me OCD but ever since shulkers came out, this is how I've organized. Saves so much time when sorting and I know where everything is at all times
Mine is wierd i am used to it Offhand: Totem 1st slot: Sword 2nd slot: bow 3rd slot: shield 4th slot: water bucket 5th slot: shovel 6th slot: pickaxe 7th slot: rockets 8th slot: golden apples 9th slot: food
Off-hand: Shield Slot 1: Food (torches if mining) Slot 2: Bow Slot 3: Sword Slot 4: Axe (because axe goes before pick in the creative menu) Slot 5: Shovel Slot 6: Anything Slot 7: Anything Slot 8: Anything Slot 9: Torches if mining or fireworks when flying And if the bundle gets added than axe, pick, shovel, hoe, arrow and spare armour and anything important that does not stack
I swap my axe for a shovel, I don’t find my self mining wood often: offhand: totem no shield only in early game 1: sword 2: silk pick 3: shovel 4: depends 5: depends 6: depends 7: depends 8: Rockets 9: Gold carrots Top right of inventory is my echests
I put my sword in echest, take hoe instead. I get why you use a sword but for me it's not that useful as a hoe (use mobswich) but never take more than one. I once lost 4 netherite hoes due to falling into the void and my monitor was off :(
My offhand is torches when I'm mining and shield any other time. My hotbar goes as follows: Sword, Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Bow, Water Bucket, Empty, Torches, Food. Usually, I switch torches with blocks in the 8th slot.
Like this I can switch easily from sword to bow : Left hand: Shield / Torches / Blocks (very useful when mining in the Nether and lava flows) 1. Sword 2. Pickaxe 3. Shovel 4. Axe / Free slot 5. Blocks 6. Blocks 7. Water Bucket / Rockets 8. Food 9. Bow
My layout: 1:sword 2:pickaxe 3:axe/shovel/fortune pick 4:bow/trident/food(bedrock edition) 5:empty 6:empty(in nether )/water bucket 7:blocks 8:rockets 9:food/elytra(bedrock edition because you can swap elytra and chestplate) I put totem in my off hand
My Inventory arrangement: 1st slot Sword 2nd slot Pickaxe (Silk touch) 3rd Slot Axe 4th Slot Bow 5th Slot Rockets (If I have elytra otherwise Shovel) 6th Idk (Anything I want to keep) Btw its the most unused slot for me ;) 7th Blocks (mostly netherrack) 8th Food (mostly golden carrot) 9th Water Off Hand: Riptide Trident (always) No totems cuz I never die :D Note: I've set my 9th slot on alt which allows me to instantly switch to my water bucket when needed. It really helps me to do sudden mlgs :D I keep my silk touch pick in the hotbar bcoz maximum blocks are good to break with silk touch and even if I find some ores I just use my silk pick bcoz I can mine the ore whenever I want later with fortune but if in case i need my fortune pick I just keep it right above my silk pick so that I can switch faster And now after watching this vid maybe I'll keep my ender chest in the 6th slot. I dont like any slot to be empty :) And I keep Shulker boxes in my ender chest and also some extra totems and most of the things are in my shulker box like extra rockets, food, blocks etc. I dont carry extra elytra or tools cuz I never need em. Whenever their durability is low I go to my enderman farm and repair them and I never actually die also so I dont need extra tools and armor :D
as a hardcore player I like to keep my chestplate/elytra in my nine slot, which is F, so when I quickly need to switch I can just hover over my current armor piece and switch back and forth by using F. its super helpful when fighting large amounts of mobs and/or when you jump of a cliff without your eyltra on
Interesting u have the chestplate in slot 1, ive been experimenting with this lately. I assume you use 1 to swap it with ur elytra when needed. I found it extra usefull when looting end cities since u wanna be able to put ur elytra on fast of u fall or wanna fly
My Hotbar: 1 sword 2 Tool ( the others in inventory) 3 food 4 waterbucket 5 blocks 6 for new items 7 Rockets 8 Trident with riptide 9 elytra or chestplate for fast switch
Offhand: Shield Slot 1: Water Bucket (R key) Slot 2: Sword (MB 4) Slot 3: Pickaxe (MB 5) Slot 4: Axe (G key) Rest of the slots: All depends on where I am or where I am going Slot 9: Torches (C key) I personally have a special key binding set for these which is really helpful and you can switch between them while mining/exploring caves real quick which has saved me from dying and falling to my death so many times.
in my opinion (and with my hotkeys) this is the best: 1: weapon 2:pickaxe 3:any other tool 4:blocks (every kind of blocks) 5:food 6(Q): water bucket 7(R):shield 8(V):rockets 9(B): Elytra or chestplate so i can quickly switch between them offhand: totem (gamma 999.0 so i can see everything without torches) inventory sorting: divided into 9 rows above each hotbar slot 1:another weapon, spare armor 2:other pickaxe (fortune/silk touch), spare armor 3:other tools 4:more blocks 5:more food, blocks 6:another water bucket and blocks or food 7:more totems or shields depends on if i died before or used them 8:more rockets 9:idk everything else if i don't have enough space
My hotbar: Offhand: Shield or torches. Sometimes blocks. Slot 1: Sword Slot 2: Pickaxe Slot 3: Axe Slot 4: Shovel Slot 5: Food Slot 6: Torches (if they aren't in my offhand). Slot 7: N/A Slot 8: N/A Slot 9: N/A My inventory layout changes sometimes after the shovel but it mostly changes after the food the most. I'm more of a builder and play on a specific server so I think that influences it.
My inventory layout is bit different Off hand- totem 1st slot- sword 2nd slot-axe 3rd slot-pick 4th slot-bow 5th slot-water bucket 6th slot-food 7th slot-blocks 8th slot-rockets 9th slot-empty (because i can have this free slot for some quick switching of any item as per need). And uh for inventory, top row is for least used items like rocket shulker, potions, extra totems. The on the row above the hotbar, i got my trident and shovel and my chestplate and some extra blocks so I can manage the most used items quickly and the rest. and my hotbar changes a bit in PvP cases
I do Sword/trident, Shovel/shears, Hoe/rod, Bow/crossbow, Food, Blocks, Axe, Pickaxe, Bucket/rockets/torches. I use thumb buttons on the mouse for the first and last slot, and 1,3,4,5,F,C,V for 2~8 slots. When a slot can be used for multiple different items, the replacement items are put on top of the slot in the inventory.
I think when starting out you should carry a boat for when you can’t fly over oceans or if you’re looking for shipwrecks. Also, a milk bucket could be a really good add-in if you are hunting witches, husks, the arctic skeletons that give you slowness, or even going to an ocean monument. For a midgame layout, put your chestplate in one of the two misc slots so you can switch between it and your elytra quickly when in need.
Great video! Looks like after about 9 years of this game I came to quite the same layout as the whole community) But i also found it slow and difficult to scroll to items in hotbar, so I always change keys to access hotbar slots after 4th. I have numbers 1-3 for tools and weapons, 4 for chestplate or elytra to switch quickly, then 5 to switch item in off-hand (instead of F). Then goes R for food, F for water bucket or fire res potion, X for blocks and V for rockets or trident. 9th slot contains torches and is usually accessed by pressing 1 and short scrolling up. In the right side of inventory i keep some wood and coal. Also I have extra items and tools over the slots they belong to. Offhand is for totem, I carry shield under off hand slot, but rarely use it. The rest of inventory is just mess) Enderchest has shulkers with extra rockets, redstone components, food, tools, totems, elytras and armor. And some empty ones to carry extra stuff. Btw, I think X key is the most used hotbar key for me, I am really surprised how handy it is, you guys should really try it. I place all the blocks that need to be placed just by this key, as I can press it with my thumb.
Offhand: Totem/Shield 1st slot:Sword 2nd slot:Pickaxe(I often switch between Fortune and SIlk Touch whenever I need one) 3rd slot: Blocks(For climbing and better movements) 4th slot:Water Bucket 5th slot:Shovel 6th Slot:Ender Pearl (`) 7th:Food (R) 8th:Bow (F) 9th:Other stuff (torches, firework, lava bucket, axe,...) My hotbar habit comes from playing PvP in 1.8 since I need to hotbar quickly enough for different situations. So there are some unexpected items in the hotbar but they are actually pretty useful ingame ngl.
I like this layout and I do have the same general thing, except I usually have the sword in 2 and the pickaxe in 1, with torches in 9 so I can quickly scroll between them
Inventory management is important, some people just don't care how their inventorys are, don't rush it and find out what you want in your hotbar and inventory
Mine hotbar for everyday stuff is: 1. Sword 2. Pickaxe or axe 3. Pickaxe or axe ( what ever I didn’t use for slot 2) 3. Shovel or bow 5. Food 9. Rockets or water bucket
Inventory management is something not many people focus on but is very important ty :D

top row of e-chest is all shulkers, one full of building stuff, one for torches and arrows, one for potions, one for alternate weapons and armour, one for misc things like beacon and conduit stuff, scaffolding, a couple of totems, spare buckets of water, emergency food etc. mid and bottom row of e-chest is axes (I used to have an axe on the hotbar but I realised i very rarely wanted to switch to it quickly, I usually harvest a load of wood then put it away again. exploring mineshafts I will sometimes put it back on the hotbar tho), hoes & trident, gapples, bed, a stack of obby and a flint and steel etc.

This was very helpful! I recently changed my setup a little bit, and this is the one below. I used to have food in 4, water in 5, torches in 6, and the rest depended on the situation. Then I maxed out my bow and needed a spot for it lol.
My current hotbar setup:
- Offhand: Totem, shield, or riptide trident (if I’m really late game and not playing hardcore.)
- 1: Sword
- 2: Pickaxe (usually silk touch)
- 3: Axe
- 4: Shovel
- 5: Bow (Infinity)
- 6: Food (Golden Carrots)
- 7: Rockets
- 8: Depends on the situation. Torches usually.
- 9: Depends on situation. Blocks usually.
Water bucket?
This was great!! I usually do it in a slightly different way:
-Offhand: Totem/Shield (based on how early or late into the game I am)
-1 Slot: Sword
-2 Slot: Silk Touch Pick (Fortune Pick is above it in inventory)
-3 Slot: Shovel
-4 Slot: Axe
-5 Slot: Bow/Trident (It switches randomly, one is always above the other in inventory)
-6 Slot: Food
-7 Slot: Scaffolding Blocks (usually cobblestone)
-8 Slot: Either torches, rockets, or nothing
-9 Slot: Water Bucket (This has saved my life multiple times)
I’ve mapped my 1 and 9 hotbar slot keys to my side mouse buttons to access the sword and water bucket easier.

You guys are my motivation to continue building my Minecraft map
Instead of the left side of the main inventory being the armor, tools or other spare stuff like fireworks, I keep labeled shulkers across the top 9 slots, that hold everything I could ever want. Anything below that line or above the hotbar, is a temporary slot, and when using lots of materials for big builds, I fill those up with shulkers as well, but undyed to signify it's still temporary. Top 9 slots in order is (roughly):
1) tools/armor/elytra spares,
2) weapons/shield spares,
3) fireworks/totems/arrows/potions,
4) crafting stations/necessary blocks for those items (like crafting mats for them, or bookshelves for enchant table),
5) chest/shulker shells for spare shulker storage on demand,
6) valuables like ores/ingots/blocks and a stack of ender chests to help store more items,
7) food items,
8) rare items (like end crystals, enchanted gapples, mob heads, or rare enchant books like soul speed or the new sneak book),
9) and lastly, resources used in building the most common items needed, like wood or cobble.
Saves so much time when sorting and I know where everything is at all times

as a hardcore player I like to keep my chestplate/elytra in my nine slot, which is F, so when I quickly need to switch I can just hover over my current armor piece and switch back and forth by using F. its super helpful when fighting large amounts of mobs and/or when you jump of a cliff without your eyltra on
I like to set first 4 slots like this
Slot 1: sword
Slot 2: bow
Slot 3: axe
Slot 4: pickaxe
yeahh i do the same but i'll jst swap the 3 nd 4
Offhand: totem
Slot 1: chestplate
Slot 2: sword
Slot 3: bow
Slot 4: pickaxe
Slot 7: fireworks
Slot 8: golden carrots
Slot 9: golden apples
Interesting u have the chestplate in slot 1, ive been experimenting with this lately. I assume you use 1 to swap it with ur elytra when needed. I found it extra usefull when looting end cities since u wanna be able to put ur elytra on fast of u fall or wanna fly
Yeah that’s actually what I use chestplate/elytra in slot one is so useful and the others can be easily reached with keybinds
Offhand : Lantern
Slot 1 Bow
Slot 2 Sword
Slot 3 Pick
Slot 4 Axe
Slot 5 Shovel
Slot 6 Ender Pearl
Slot 7 Food
Slot 8 Water Bucket
Slot 9 Extra Blocks
I loved the helpful tips about controls at the end. It’s something I could’ve really used when I was starting out in Minecraft.
Philza's inventory layout is actually impressive even his enderchest layout. you should check his videos to see how creative he is
My Hotbar: 1 sword 2 Tool ( the others in inventory) 3 food 4 waterbucket 5 blocks 6 for new items 7 Rockets 8 Trident with riptide 9 elytra or chestplate for fast switch
Am I the only one who has food in the second hand
Not the only one but only 2 😂
I put mine in the fourth
I put a tudum
Me 2
*screams in bedrock*
Offhand: Shield
Slot 1: Water Bucket (R key)
Slot 2: Sword (MB 4)
Slot 3: Pickaxe (MB 5)
Slot 4: Axe (G key)
Rest of the slots: All depends on where I am or where I am going
Slot 9: Torches (C key)
I personally have a special key binding set for these which is really helpful and you can switch between them while mining/exploring caves real quick which has saved me from dying and falling to my death so many times.
in my opinion (and with my hotkeys) this is the best:
1: weapon
2:pickaxe
3:any other tool
4:blocks (every kind of blocks)
5:food
6(Q): water bucket
7(R):shield
8(V):rockets
9(B): Elytra or chestplate so i can quickly switch between them
offhand: totem (gamma 999.0 so i can see everything without torches)
inventory sorting:
divided into 9 rows above each hotbar slot
1:another weapon, spare armor
2:other pickaxe (fortune/silk touch), spare armor
3:other tools
4:more blocks
5:more food, blocks
6:another water bucket and blocks or food
7:more totems or shields depends on if i died before or used them
8:more rockets
9:idk everything else if i don't have enough space
Let's take the moment to appreciate how effort he puts into the content for us😀
My hotbar:
Offhand: Shield or torches. Sometimes blocks.
Slot 1: Sword
Slot 2: Pickaxe
Slot 3: Axe
Slot 4: Shovel
Slot 5: Food
Slot 6: Torches (if they aren't in my offhand).
Slot 7: N/A
Slot 8: N/A
Slot 9: N/A
My inventory layout changes sometimes after the shovel but it mostly changes after the food the most. I'm more of a builder and play on a specific server so I think that influences it.
I really like the content of this channel :)
great video guys!
I'm proud that this layout is exactly what I'm using when I'm playing mcpe🤩🤩
My inventory layout is bit different
Off hand- totem
1st slot- sword
2nd slot-axe
3rd slot-pick
4th slot-bow
5th slot-water bucket
6th slot-food
7th slot-blocks
8th slot-rockets
9th slot-empty (because i can have this free slot for some quick switching of any item as per need).
Looks like after about 9 years of this game I came to quite the same layout as the whole community)
But i also found it slow and difficult to scroll to items in hotbar, so I always change keys to access hotbar slots after 4th.
The rest of inventory is just mess)
Enderchest has shulkers with extra rockets, redstone components, food, tools, totems, elytras and armor. And some empty ones to carry extra stuff.
Btw, I think X key is the most used hotbar key for me, I am really surprised how handy it is, you guys should really try it. I place all the blocks that need to be placed just by this key, as I can press it with my thumb.
What number/ function is your X key?
@@sluin 7th hotbar slot
Offhand: Totem/Shield
1st slot:Sword
2nd slot:Pickaxe(I often switch between Fortune and SIlk Touch whenever I need one)
3rd slot: Blocks(For climbing and better movements)
4th slot:Water Bucket
5th slot:Shovel
6th Slot:Ender Pearl (`)
7th:Food (R)
8th:Bow (F)
9th:Other stuff (torches, firework, lava bucket, axe,...)
My hotbar habit comes from playing PvP in 1.8 since I need to hotbar quickly enough for different situations. So there are some unexpected items in the hotbar but they are actually pretty useful ingame ngl.
My pvp kit:
Offhand: shield or totem
1: sword
2: axe
3: gapple
4: crossbow/bow
5: obsidian (g)
6: crystal (v)
7: e-pearl (z)
8: totem/potion
9: totem/potion
interesting set
you use g with your thumb or with the index finger?
@@Gius_Valentine index
I use the last two hotbar slots to put any item I need in the situation, and all the others to put my tools and food
:)
Pretty great layout!
I should (maybe) use that layout as well!
@@monikabaack7950 Maybe I will remove the hoe from my layout, its not so important
@@eu9887 For me a hoe is important. :)
In my world i always carry a netherite hoe with me.
(No joke)
:)
I like this layout and I do have the same general thing, except I usually have the sword in 2 and the pickaxe in 1, with torches in 9 so I can quickly scroll between them
I also have the pickaxe in the first slot!
