Nice vid. The Sandy 887 looking good on the trail. BTW Guys Gals I really hope your new front disc rotors are not drilled but just slotted, Saleem. The reason is that drilled rotors are subject to stress-raisers at the circumference of the holes - ie. each hole is a stress-concentration point which leads to cracking of the rotors. Exacerbated by the thermal cycling of hot brakes from any long or hard braking coupled with cold water quenching during rainy season. So the disc rotors really should be slotted ( milled grooves with rounded bottoms) not drilled holes. Cheers !
Aye! I've never heard about Paragrant Bay before so i googled it to learn more. I'm admitting now that its a very beautiful area and its on my bucket list...let's say my 'rugged ride' list (lol). About the truck, amm! it's 'Peanut' I think. -An idea now is for the fabricator to build a wicked looking angry eyes along the top width of the grill to complete the front. U all have the creativity and working skills to do it. Excuse me for expressing my thoughts but i think beyond the factory. Another top of the line all round video ... Safe!

Build looking good, I have some questions, was the van in low range ? And is the stock radiator transmission cooler still connected, if so is it before or after the upgrade transmission cooler ?
The van was in 4H coming up
The stock tranny cooler is still connected. This new cooler just adds additional cooling after the stock cooler
So I know that even a stock hilux overheats the transmission when climbing Paragrant if you stay in 4H, I would say the problem was more improper driving. Low range significantly reduces the stress on the transmission at those low speeds and gives you real good engine braking for down hill. Still tho, a fan wouldn't hurt.
@@ChevaishRoop normally we would be in 4L. But just for testing we had it in 4h to see if the light would turn on
Alright, well then you genuinely push it as a test. Wire up a temperature triggered fan, would be more quiet until it's needed would save a little fuel when driving normally

I've been on this trail with a stock 3.0L hilux with a/t or suv tires and the Temp light never came on
Smaller tyres will put less stress on the drivetrain :)

what was causing the trans temp to get too high?
the added weight of the bumpers and bigger tyres put strain on the drivetrain
