but foreigners never stopped anyone from opening their spaza shops. even now i can assist you free off charge with a place if you want to open your spaza shop. i know a lot of empty spazzas. but my Guy never ever think what these people are doing is easy. here in the cbd (Durban) there is no spaza shop cost less than 350 000!!! IM NOT CAPPING!!!! do you have that money? mind you you still need to pay rent every month , the cheapest rent i knw is 15k plus electricity and water. if you lucky to get one of those smallest shops inside ARCADES / PASSEGES then your rent might be less than that but not less than 5k a month. july 26 me and my man bought restaurant 700k rent is 22k every month . SO MR LOCAL ARE YOU READY TO START A BUSINESS ? Naaahhh i thought so

@shemseseid3791 in almost every country foreigners are allowed to apply for jobs where skills are scarce or critically needed. Spaza shops don't fall in this category. In SA these include ICT, Engineering, Healthcare specialists, STEM teachers, CAs, etc. The rest must be prioritized for citizens only. It's the basis of the working visa programme.

    • @general---777a

@jumasefu1648 no-one should stop them. They can do it if they want, but foreigners can't unless they have permits, are registered, operate in the correct zones and comply with health & safety standards.

When South African government allows kids with out any documents to attend school, is government not encouraging illegality in the country????
If a child doesn't have documents probably parents are illegal in the country.
Most of the kids in public schools here in Tembisa don't have legal documents and definitely their parents as well.
South African government is confused they can't allow kids to be illegal in the country with out their parents.
Allow illegal immigrants kids to go to school and also allow their parents to stay illegally in the country while their kids are attending school.

Why at the first place Home Affairs is not linked in the process of Spaza registration? A municipality can't register a foreign national without a confirmation of documents from Home Affairs. Home Affairs is silent and allow the process to go through without its involvement.

I think you missed he said that when foreign national get their documents at the first stage they do confirm what act they can do here in SA .
Like myself im a foreign national, when i came here was at my 16 by that time i had my asylums and my secondary activity was to study and work in RSA. I went school finished then i applied for proper permit at 2021 and i got my permit which allows me to permanently stay in RSA and secondary activity is business.
So when these spaza shop owner is registering they must use their legal documents which must allow them to own a business or study or work or sleep ❤️😁.

It's common sense! no country knows how many illegal immigrants exist in any given country. Even USA does not know. How do you then expect SA home affairs to know! They wouldn't know someone who jumped the border last night at Messina!!. I hope this comment helps you understand !!

I think a lot of us getting ut wrong. As thinking home affairs are doing nothing.
As he mentioned that when foreign national get their documents at the first stage they do confirm what act they can do here in SA .
Like myself im a foreign national, when i came here was at my 16 by that time i had my asylums and my secondary activity was to study and work in RSA. I went school finished then i applied for proper permit at 2021 and i got my permit which allows me to permanently stay in RSA and secondary activity is business.
So when these spaza shop owner is registering they must use their legal documents which must allow them to own a business or study or work
    Thank you 😊

This man is honest. This question of how many illegal immigrants are there in the country has been asked too many times and expecting Home Affairs to know. How can you know the number of people who are illegal in the country? That's a stupid expectation for home affairs to know. Illegal means the individual dodged the system. Can you know how many times you were cheated

    • @thamizama5904
      @thamizama5904 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Yes, to expect Dept of Home Affairs to know the number of illegal immigrants in the country is a dumb expectation. Many journalists like to ask this stupid question. DHA can only know the number of people coming into the country based on those who came through proper channels.

The law also clearly states that if you start a business in SA you have to employ South Africans FIRST, the bulk of all foreign owned shops in this country, legal or illegal, consist of fellow foreigner staff. A loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs that belong to South Africans.
