Hello:) thanks for this comment. Thats really nice from you - and I promise to not stress about it. And I will bear you kind comment in mind. All the best:)
I'm so looking forward on your house project. I've always been interested in old wooden architecture. Be it stilt huts, pit houses, turf houses, roundhouses, half-timbered, traditional Japanese homes... There's so much ingenuity in the joinery and how they change with different materials and tools and regarding the local climate. And how in different regions they established different solutions for similar problems. There's so much to learn from even today.
How exciting! I am very eager to see your small viking house evolve as you get the opportunity to work with all your fun tools!!! Thank you for sharing your passion with all of us 😁
I'm very excited for you, I am also very envious of your home and the fact you have a stream and small woodland at the bottom of your garden! I can't wait to see what comes from this project!
Hello:) I the price of woodland and stream in the garden is a 30 year debt to the bank. Its great but there is always a compromise:) Im looking forward to start the project and to show you how it goes:) all the best
So excited to hear about your plans for a small viking house. This will be a wonderful set of videos for you to make and discuss building techniques, tools, and materials. Can't wait for you to show us and enjoy your tools! Great stuff Ramuni - continued success to you!
This channel is a gem. This reenactor is a gem. Love this guy, he inspires us living is cities to long for something better! Bookmarking this idea in my mind for a maybe-to-be future where I too, can do such crafts.
I admire your drive and enthusiasm, it is contagious. Nice to hear that your channel is doing so well. You deserve it. Hope all your plans come true. All the best to you all.
That house project made me really excited! I hope it comes along nicely! And as always, just listening to your voice is so calming and inspiring, once again, thank you for another awesome video!
Love that you've started a large project to showcase your talents and tools. This has been one of my new favorite channels as I binge watch your entire catalog of videos. Very excited for the falconry one as I've considered taking it up.
I've only just found your channel but enjoy the care you take in explaining the history (of whatever) as well as the 'doing'. You bring a realistic passion to your ideas/projects - and it is wonderful to share in this small way. Thank you. :)
Im happy to hear you found the channel - and thank you so much for these kind and supportive words. I means alot:) so thank you:) and you are most welcome
I am really looking forward to your new project. Scandinavian Houses and especially Ships where what brought me from just History into Archeology of the Viking Age
Hello Sallafar:) Thats great to hear. There is so much research and yet so many blank spaces in the understanding of viking houses. Unlike the ships the houses were poorly preserved - so there is more room for interpretation. I would love to try an make a small boat one day too - but thats a "long time into the future" project.
Well I have to say there is a glimmer in your eyes when you’re speaking about the new house project….as a carpenter and home builder I understand it all too well. Keep up the great work, your videos help transport me to another time , a time of contentment. Well done
Hello:) i guess real excitement is hard to hide:) great to hear from a carpenter. I makes a bit nervous haha. thanks for the kind and friendly comment. all the best
I am so happy I stumbled across your channel-it was your video about Viking bread and I found the whole video interesting. I am a 71 yr old reenactor living in Canada. My persona is 11th c. Hiberno-Norse living in Dublin so your videos are fascinating. Thank you for sharing with us.
Hello Bonnie:) Great to hear from you and good to hear yoy are a viking reenactor as well. I would love to visit Canada. Before I had kids our Band almost had a tour ready near Vancouver. Maybe some day:)
How lovely! I am looking forward to seeing your progress on the cabin. It'll turn out beautiful I am sure! And congrats on the growth of your channel! I have wanted to build my own little Viking cabin for a long time. But where I live there are a lot of strict rules about what you are and are not allowed to build on your property. My husband and I are also thinking about building one of those tiny houses on a trailer in the form of a Viking cabin to take along to the medieval festivals we participate in. That way we could show people even more about life in the early middle ages. We'll see...
Hello Vicky. Thank you so much. Yes local regulations can be tricky. I love the idea of a trailer with a viking cabin. I have been thinking about this too. maybe a project for when the kids are bigger. It would be cool. I imagine something you can wrench off the trailer and leave on the field and then pick it up with the wrench or something like that when the show is over. All the best.
It's a pleasure to have found you and your channel. Your passion and excitement for learning and doing is easily felt & seen. ...and might even be contagious! I look forward to sharing in whatever adventures your family might decide upon and I pray you all the best of luck.
Your bread video popped up in my recommended videos list, I really enjoyed so I followed your channel. I don’t comment on most that I watch (I’m a TH-camr and usually too busy) but I always 👍🏻 for those I enjoy. Looking forward to watching more…
Thank you:) They already call it the VIKING HOTEL as they believe they can have friends over to stay there in the future when its done. And of course they can:)
Oh no, TH-cam seems to have lost my first attempt at a post! Let me try again. 🙃 By the gods, what fantastic news! I'm so excited to hear about such an amazing project, and I can't wait to follow along with the build process! And I'm excited to see your tool collection too! 😄 It's a dream of mine to have enough space, time and resources for a project like this. I have so many questions! What style of construction are planning on using? Do you have any photos/building you're using as reference? Will you have a fire pit? I assume you're aiming for as historically accurate as you can? I have a lot more questions but I don't want to bore you with them all! 😂 Is there anything we can do to help or support you in this project? Have you considered selling t-shirts of your Three Vikings illustrations through red buble or something similar? Anyway, congratulations on your epic undertaking! Stay strong my brother, and remember you have an army of over six thousand of us cheering you on!! 😃
Hello Ingvar:) Im excited to hear about all your questions. Im not entirely done asking questions my self and not every thing is set in stone yet. I have been reading up on the archaelogical material and I will try and lean into the historical sources as much as possible. But there will be compromises and limitations. The size is dictated by the area and location and not sources. And then I will use a mix of techniques and building methods on the different walls to try them out and learn. So rather than building a replica of a certain house type I will use known ways and methods around the house to make it a living experiment with historical or archeaological backing. And not everything is planned yet and I assume I will have to make some of it up as I go. But i will explain the ideas and decisions and the sources as I go along. I have been thinking of making a website and be able to sell merchandize but I dont quiet fell im there yet. But maybe in the future:) Your kind and friendly support here on the channel and youe positive and enthusiastic comments is a really good support and motivation for me:) thank you my friend.
@@RAMUNI-Viking Ah, that's an interesting approach that I hadn't thought of. One section made of wooden planks, another section wattle-and-daub, etc, that kind of approach? Well, as I say, it sounds absolutely fantastic! I'm thrilled to be able to follow you along on the journey! All the very best of luck my friend! 😃
Ah, that will be great to watch a house build. Love it and can't wait. I jumped on the flour video when it came out because I thought it said bead, not bread. I thought, oh bead making would be interesting, I'm the at home baker and have a love for barley, so the video was a pleasant surprise. Your videos are always a joy to watch.
Hello Leif. Thanks jumping on board:) I would love to make a video on bead making too. Its good to hear that the video is enjoyable to a home baker - Im sure your family loves the fresh bread. thanks for the support
My daughter and I are really interested in the house project and hope it will be great!🎉 We will enjoy to continue watching your videos and maybe meet you at one of the many Danish Viking markets.

I think you use the most important tool you got your heart And as for making things I think you’re always making things memories with your children and your wife your family and from what I see you’re doing really really good job of it
What a great and exciting project! Looking forward to following the process. Keep up the good work my friend, bearhugs to the girls (all three of them 😊) and yourself!

Love this channel. I like learning about this side of vikings. I'm going to start making a few things soon. Maybe a bone hair comb. Love those drawings.
Hello Charles. Thanks for checking in. Great to hear you might start crafting as well. Im sure you will do great. If you need inspiration for the comb I have a video that might help if you scroll down through the channel. A few years ago I made a video on how to make an antler comb.
Your positive attitude si contagious. I love the project you have in mind, you are my inspiration to continue recreating the viking period. I send you a big hug from Argentina 😁
Thats a really Nice and friendly comment. Thank you so much. Im proud to know the videos Are inspirations and awesome to hear from Argentina. All the best:) hugs
What a great project building a house! Such a good idea and so useful (at least regarding my own long term projects). I can't wait to watch your tools collection.
I have been doing some research on Scandinavian houses and came across your video about building the work benches so you can get started building your own house. I immediately subscribed so that I can learn more through your research and work. Looking forward to this project.
Hey Ramundi, I love your videos and specialy your focus on creating memories with your family. It's the most important part in raising children and with reenactment you have the best opportunities to do so! I'm looking forward to see you little house grow and all of your tools too. Have a great time! Greetings from saxony
great video as always. can't wait to see you start the build, its going to be a very interesting set of videos watching you use the tools in an authentic way of building.
I'll be waiting for your videos 👍🏼. I have same kind of love for handmade tools as you said. And I try to learn many skills and crafts of the iron age. Your videos have been good for that🤟🏼
Hello:) thanks for cheking in. great to hear form another tool-freak haha:) i wish you the best of luck with your projects. Lets try together to not be too poor from buying tools all the time:) all the best.
What a great plan. I friend of mine moved several years ago to Norway and started to make a viking settlement in the forest where he lived. Unfortunately the dream came to an end this year as he moved back to the Netherlands. Great to see what they are doing in Ribe. Going to travel to Denamrk next week and are going to visit Ribe for sure.
Fun project ahead! I have been kicking around a similar project myself! Just not alot of structures from that Era over here! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Hello Ian:) We have almost on surviving structures here either. But what little there is has been very well documented so there is at least something to base interpretations off. all the best my friend
You are welcome:) it splits the waters so to speak - but Im happy you feel this way. Some people sadly give up on anything more than a few minutes. all the best:)
This is so cool and I can't wait to watch you build I've been watching since you made a viking hunter soup and you still are very underrated and need more subs

Hello:) I am happy you found the channel and that you like the videos - and awesome to hear you are brought back to reenactment. Thank you for this friendly and positive comment. all the best
Good conversation Ramuni, I can't wait for you to build your Viking house, but isn't 2.5 meters square a bit too small? My balcony is about that size 😂 And congratulations, you suddenly have a lot of new subscribers, I'm so happy for you, you deserve it my friend. I told you your channel is going to grow, better slow and well rooted than fast and a gust of wind blows you over 💪
Hello Rein. 2,5x2,5 is what i have space for, can afford materials for that I can manage in my head:) I think im carefull to start to big and not be able to succeed for some reason. So i would rather make this smaller house that for now fits my need of a place to do small projects and film, and a space to camp out with the kids. And then learn from it and maybe in the future build something bigger somewhere else:) thanks for all the support my friend
@@RAMUNI-Viking Tekst vertalen met je camera If things don't go the way they should, then it has to be the way it goes. It will certainly be a beautiful Viking house, large or small. I forgot, bigger means more wood and more expensive.
Recently found your channel and love the relaxed craft work and all the b-roll. I've been doing re-enactment festivals in the UK for just over a year now and can't get enough of it.

I have been doing some research on Scandinavian houses and came across your video about building the work benches so you can get started building your own house. I immediately subscribed so that I can learn more through your research and work. Looking forward to this project.

Hello:) Maybe we will meet in Ribe:)

Thank you for vernturing into longer videos when you could've make a lot of smaller ones. I really appreciate it because I prefer that style a lot!
You are welcome:) it splits the waters so to speak - but Im happy you feel this way. Some people sadly give up on anything more than a few minutes. all the best:)
I'd love to see as much detail as possible for the house, I also want to attempt to make one or just something that I can do living history there
Im happy to hear that you are interested in the project. Looking forward to get into all the details.

@RAMUNI-Viking Thank you so much. It has been a slow process thus far, with the weather and all. I just do the things I can on any given day.
Thats the way to go forward. Small steps at the time
I like your videos very much .Can't wate to see the house.
thank you:)
Love the videos. Please keep up the great work 😊
Thank you. I promise i will:)

If things don't go the way they should, then it has to be the way it goes. It will certainly be a beautiful Viking house, large or small. I forgot, bigger means more wood and more expensive.
Your doing a great job! Your vidoes are fun to watch and your so real and relatable. Its refreshing. Keep up the good hard work (;
thank you:)
Loving the content brother keep it up
Thank you:) I Will:)
Recently found your channel and love the relaxed craft work and all the b-roll. I've been doing re-enactment festivals in the UK for just over a year now and can't get enough of it. I've become the designated tablet weaver in our little group but I also want to get more into the woodwork side of things. Well, I want to do everything but there's never enough time is there? :)
Hello Stewart. Im happy you found the channel. Thanks for the kinds words about my videos. Great to hear from another craftsman - and you hit the nail right on the head: there is never enough time:) best of luck with your projects
