Really helpful information. We’ve been to Old Key West with a couple of our grandkids a couple of times when they were little and now they’re in college. It’s a great place to stay when the kids are any age. We now have more grandkids that are little that just stayed at OKW. They had so much fun 😊
I’d like to eventually add on about 25-50 points direct so I’m not restricted with which DVC resorts like I currently am with my resale contract. It’s tough to move forward when seeing the direct vs resale price differences though lol!
Hi Monique it’s great to hear from you again. Yes there is a huge price difference between direct and resale. Unfortunately to get direct benefits a buyer has to buy 150 points. That makes it even harder to achieve getting benefits and justifying the price. As always thanks for watching and commenting.
I feel the annual dues are in line with OKW due to the fact that it is a large resort with the largest rooms for a deluxe resort. Also it has the boat service to Disney Springs and not just bus transportation. Not to mention that your points go further because of the low number of points needed to book a room. Do you know which type of screwdriver is needed to unscrew the battery lid on the Tiki Torch lamp? I noticed you have the Polynesian Tiki Torch Lamp on the shelf behind you. I have that same lamp but when the battery died on mine I tried to unscrew the lid with several different screwdrivers but none of mine worked. I thought perhaps you had better luck than me.

But the dues there are really high. This has really turned me off DVC, not just this one. Probably why the resales are so cheap now.

On the bottom battery cover I used a phillips pocket sized screwdriver because of the extremely small screw head. That worked for me.

I think it's the best opportunity to buy direct we'll get we bought 150 points to get the "blue card"
