This sounds like my maternal grandfather’s funeral. All he did was fuss, fuss and fuss: Get off my grass, get off the driveway, get out of the street and blah, blah, blah...He would even “show out” when guests came to his house and my grandma was a pastor! He loved my grandma and was a good provider for my mom and her siblings, but nobody was really THAT torn up at the funeral. I was so glad when I became old enough to be a latchkey kid so I didn’t have to go to my grandparents’ home anymore while my mom worked. I was in college when he passed away and thought: “Now, we can have some peace and quiet!” People become hypocritical at funerals, but it is what it is ! 😁
He wasn’t just drinking the wine and talking to sinners, he was teaching them and influencing them to turn their lives around. He didn’t accept their sin while they continued to sin. He made them aware of their sin, and according to the works of his father so they could turn from their sin.
