All those 3 are very wonderful. But i think those 3 are not "starter" base, it's more like "small" base.
The waterfall and raft are my favorite base types in this video.

what keys do you press if you're mid air and placing those blocks at 1:42 ?
Hold down Space at the same time as crouch, you'll be able to place blocks as if you're crouching, but you won't fly downards.
