i love how players can tinker around with builds and post them so other players can give them a try. especially with that neat note feature! really allows for noobs to figure things out and (hopefully) learn a lot faster.
Honestly I've seen mixed comments about buying 500 items. Some people say to buy as few as you can to get thru lane so you don't delay on bigger items, others say to try and fill out your slots with 500 items because they're the most cost effective power increases because of the flat bonus they give to Wep damage, health, and spirit. If I'm farming well and ahead of my lane i'll usually not max my slots out entirely but i usually get at least 3 of each color item before moving onto anything in the 3000 soul range.
I think this will definitely evolve as people spend more time with the game. Right now in higher MMR games people don't seem to buy more than 5-6 tier 1 items. I think the passives on tier 2 and 3 items are just too good a lot of the time
Thanks for the guide! Watched your other Lady Geist game and I really like and appreciate your humble vibe and reasoning! Your videos helped me a lot to understand her gameplay and how my own gameplay style fit into her kit, and so I took great inspirations from your build and made one of my own. Last night I had some of the best games ever and it was amazingly fun. THanks again Eskie!!
IMO the best Geist is Gun Geist. Get headhunter, get sharpshooter, get something for a bit of fire rate, then use your maxed out 1 kinda as an alch fire by buying bullet resist shredder and mythic slow.
Can you address the absence of Healing Rite? In the previous version you described it as borderline mandatory for Geist and now it's not only absent but didn't merit a mention. Thanks for the supremely informative content, I'm really trying to move into being an intermediate player and your videos have been a big help.
I thought I had addressed that in the video my bad. If you have a hard lane where you need extra sustain, I think Restorative Shot, Extra Regen, and standing near the healing minion should be enough sustain to get you through lane. Extra Regen gives you more stats than Healing Rite which is why I prefer it.
Noticed you posted this build the day after i had made that copy lol! Been using yours since you dropped it. I will delete the copy i made right now 💯 Stoked its up! Thank you!
I’ve been maining Geist lately and I think that Phantom Strike is definitely my favorite item on her, yes it’s expensive but with bomb max you get it very very early. It changes your entire game. Using your ult with just warp and stamina is super telegraphed and is very obvious. Having phantom strike makes things very hard for enemies to deal with. Also Geist can get kited and this helps with that too edit: just wanted to say, doing this build brought me to around a 73% winrate in around 50 games. And yes I think that PS is better than leech
I enjoy building Phantom Strike on lady geist it tends to give a good blink in that disarms and pairs well with her T3 on drain. The person essentially gets stuck watching you shoot them in the face or popping unstoppable late game just for you. Leech is good as a rush item but if you are very ahead of the enemy Phantom strike can net you a lot of kills before they buy unstoppable and/or debuff remover
I've seen a lot of people imbue Mystic Reverb on Malice, and it doesn't make sense to me. If I buy MR, I imbue it on the bomb. It makes the MR proc do more damage. Especially if you hit the enemy with Malice before the bomb goes off. And since MR is a late game item. Your bomb is usually on a 6 second cooldown by then anyways. Maybe I'm missing something, but this makes sense to me.
reverb on malice is more reliable on getting it on the target you actually wish to slow, more often allowing you to secure a kill - it comes out super fast, can reliably hit enemies in the air, and since its not a massive aoe it actually lets you pick the exact target you want. good luck trying to hit a lash flying around the map with one of your bombs.
and can also hit people across the map, if your teammate is going for a gank on somebody you're super far away from, that slow from the reverb malice is so good to secure that kill, and you would never be able to get that reliable range from a bomb
@@dogobgynz This makes sense I guess. I just feel like your wasting the damage proc off of MR if you Imbue on Malice. If you're just using MR for the slow. Why not just purchase Mystic Slow for a cheaper price? Applies a slow and reduces firerate on all abilities.
I agree with the previous replies and should of mentioned it in the video. Malice is more reliable at range and helps you deal with heroes in the air such as Vindicta or Grey Talon.
@@eskie-gaming To help deal with the above mentioned heroes and Lash. Do you think Mystic Reverb is more helpful or Mystic Slow? I feel like Mystic Slow would be better since it also helps the above mentioned heroes plus other high firerate heroes. Regardless this is a good discussion. Not trying to argue to be annoying.
I just want to know how tf people's builds are so clean looking, when I tried to save and edit my own build for McGinnis and Vindicta I was able to figure out how to add items and name sections but beyond that yall have these shapes and sections and notes and I'm gonna need to know how to do that 😂
I just used this build and it was the best time yet that I've had on Geist. Everything made sense. It's a great build for someone learning Geist and shooter mobas in general. Great job! What do you think of Metal Skin to counter Haze/Wraith instead of Return Fire?
Id argue swapping enduring spirit with regen is not a good idea unless your lane is super bad (like you have to hide behind a wall constantly). The spirit lifesteal from enduring spirit heals you for about 5 seconds worth of regen per enemy hit if you also have mystic burst, so if you hit 3 creeps + 1 champ you leech 20 seconds worth of regen instantly. Im not saying this is strictly better, but people seem to wildly overlook this fact. I almost always leech my way out of a bad lane, rarely ever regen my way out. Also, the 500 cost items far outshine any other item in terms of stats per soul spent. So you should never buy a 1250 item if you plan on buying another 500 item still. If you skip it and never buy it, it might make sense if you then get to your big item faster, but only if that one is truly build enabling.
Ya I only buy Extra Regen in really tough lanes with lots of harass. I definitely agree that Tier 1 outshine other items stat wise, but I think the passives on Tier 2 and above items are what makes them better.
Quick Question, how exactly do i know what to sell when buying situational items? There is only 1 free flex slot when using the build and it leaves no room to buy anything else for counters
Great question. You'll want to sell tier 1 items first to make room. After that it's a bit more difficult and depends a lot on the situation. Since this is mainly a spirit build, you could cut a tier 2 weapon item. I think most of the green items are pretty core
Do you also have the mystic reverb tooltip bug with lifesteal? If you already have spirit lifesteal, it says that it goes from x-->19% which is obviously wrong if you already have leech
Tried last Geist for first time now with your build and haha wtf, the dmg is insane. I dont even know how I do it, like 2 malice and 1 bomb and couple of attacks and most people melt wtf :O and been getting 4-5 kills directly at lane: I guess it’s much harder va people knowing how to counter it since I am low hp all the time :P
@@eskie-gaming I usually am able to get them low enough to execute with my bomb early game (first like 1:30/2mins), but i'll try levelling 3 first and see how it goes!
Nice, I was looking to try out Lady Geist but didn't really know where to start. Thanks! Do you ever go for Improved Spirit? I noticed it'll bump Malice over the 125 damage threshold to proc Improved Burst, which seems like it could be a nice option to have, especially for confirming kills at longer range.
Why don't you get extra/superior stamina? I feel like it's good on all builds, and on Geist specifically I feel it helps tremendously to get within range for ult.
I think it's ultimately down to personal preference between stamina and Enduring Speed. I like the speed because it helps me move around the map faster and has slow reduction resistance
Thanks for the guide. I've been looking to pick up geist. Is there any chance of a gameplay guide video? It would really help with understanding how to play her.
I'm only a handful of games in on geist but malice seems like really good inevitability, do you think there's ever a world or a build where imbuing cooldown on malice would be better than bomb? maybe vs mobile heroes?
I'd be curious what the actual cooldown reduction is for imbuing malic (I haven't looked). I imagine there's a small difference between imbued vs not. I think that's why it's probably not worth it.
@@eskie-gaming that makes sense, I'd also be curious to see how that affects the time to get 2, 3, 4, and 5 stacks since (for example) a 0.2s reduction to malice cd would mean you could get to 5 stacks 0.8s sooner
Ya I've moved away from Boundless Spirit because it's pretty expensive, and I think there are other items that are more efficient buys souls-wise. I think Boundless Spirit is still viable just not the most optimal item.
I think the patch and bomb buffs make this build even better. I just put out a post patch Geist match video. Basically you don't have to build a lot to spirit items to have your bombs deal a lot of damage now
Improved Reach should be in the Situational/Luxury items. I think it's a fine item, but I prefer to buy other items before it. I'd buy it in really late game
I dont understand the emphasis on cooldown reduction, since spamming abilities brings your health so low. Im usually more interestes in getting more bang for my hp cost. Also reach + reverb on bomb is hilarious. You can get absolute nukes that cover the width of a lane and is the only way ive found to have Geist compete with game changing ults that other heroes have. Otherwise good guide. Id suggest maybe adding magic carpet. Like you said, Geist lacks mobility, and since she likes 1v1 and can split push, having carpet as an escape plan is super nice.
Going low HP is a scenario that's already included into your kit. That's why you have 2 to heal back up some more or 4 to flip the table on your opponent. Losing HP is an important part of your kit IMO.
Spirit Lifesteal, Healing Booster, and Leech will sustain you through your self damage. You can always buy those earlier than what I have in the build order if you find yourself low on health.
i love how players can tinker around with builds and post them so other players can give them a try. especially with that neat note feature! really allows for noobs to figure things out and (hopefully) learn a lot faster.
Thank you for having the situational items on the build itself! No more hunting for them in the shop.
