I love how they keep screwing console players.. Since we don't hav mods, the least they could do is let us keep our option. Especially after tht "new" pirate game (Atlas, i think) they released, I'm very angry with Wildcard. I'm not paying money for a server either...

The slider has been removed from the game for unknow reasons. The only answer I found was for "serious but subtle" problems. What I have not found however, and I've looked everywhere, is a single person who has experienced these "problems." I've also not found an actual reason for its removal. What's more likely? The fact that they recently released payed private servers is more likely the "problem." Their refusal, time and again, to give a reason makes this plain. Also, someone from wildcard said the slider will NOT be returning in the future. My suggestion? Steer very clear of wildcard in the future. I know I certainly will.

They removed it for a reason mention in the comments from 2/3 years ago. Apparently,if the player was to far from host,they couldn't collect resources.

The developers removed it on Xbox, stating that it was never supposed to be released on Xbox in the first place and due to the possibility that it may hinder performance a lot on Xbox to host basically two games, they then removed it. They also stated that it will not be coming to Xbox anytime soon, if at all.
Keep in Mind > PS4 also counts for this.

Apparently it was never meant to be released on console, it was supposed to be only for PC. The developers feared it would cause problems for the Xbox and removed it completely.

No other multiplayer game on XBox has a tether. Look at the huge library of games that feature multiplayer and not a single one forces friends to stay close together. I refuse to believe that it's because of performance issues. There are games far more complicated in graphics and population that run perfectly fine without tying players together.
You need to make a server though it has costs like who creates it will not be able to play

Problem is I still can't enter caves without the host. In The center map I can't even touch the water without the host, as it will drag me to him instantly. How do I fix that?
You can't, they disabled the option to increase the distance from host so they can profit off their private server service.

Last time i tried this like a couple weeks ago it worked but my friends couldnt harvest or anything, just walk around. Has this been fixed yet? I really want to play ragnarok with my friends when it comes out.

Its not something that ark creators can just remove. It's because of xboxs not being able to handle 2 parts of the map at the same time. Maybe with the new ps5 and project Scarlett it would change.
I'm late a bit but the Xbox x can handle it I've tested on single player u can go to from one side of the map to the other as the guest or other player idk if it works on none dedicated server
there are other games that are higher quality and population and they work just fine.

Yeah you're the only one correct here. I did 99.0 and had zero issues. I did 10,000 and now my game got corrupted and I can't gain XP anymore. My brothers who did that with their game had nothing wrong.

Me and my friend tested out the host barrier limited and i put it to 1000.0 and my game was jacked up and couldn't start the game after I changed it. I uninstalled the whole game and installed it and it was all good. Then I changed the barrier limit to 100.0 and everything went perfectly and my game didnt show any issues so I recommend just putting the limit to 100.0 because putting too high I guess will mess up your game.

Tether distance is the dumbest feature in a video game ever. Can't play The Center without teleporting my fiancee to me. We like to build our bases far away from each other's. I think Wildcard is very anti-consumer and they will sure lose lots of fans if it's like this in Ark 2
The barrier thing is only on pc (steam) on xbox/ps4 it doesn't exist
