This Artist Retreat on 200 acres is even wilder and I will tell you why. First of all, you are only 10 min to Berea Kentucky. It is an arts and crafts town. A lot of artists live here, of course. So you're right on the edge of Appalachia - so it's got all that kind of interesting stuff and then the arts community. So it's like 10 min. away and then another 5 min. and you are at the I-75 interstate. Now how interesting is that so you've got two interstate exits on I-75 you are close to Richmond which is the home of Eastern Kentucky University. I'm in this place and I'm thinking its an Artist Retreat, log cabin for sale all on 200 acres this would be a perfect family compound. So if you have an extended family. Maybe this is like a hunting camp. First of all, let me begin at the beginning. And I am not going to make this one long-winded I promise. But there is so much to tell about this property - I am excited. 200 acres and you are about smack dab in the middle. So isn't that everybody's dream. I know certainly it was my dream. I wanted to have a hundred acres put the house in the middle and tell everyone to keep out. Right? Well this is 200 hundred acres and the house is right in the middle of the property. So you come up this long driveway. It's all blocked off and you come all the way in the back on this ridge there are picnic tables out that way and there is 6 foot tall cyclone fence all around about 5 acres here it is masked with these trees. So I ask the seller what's the deal with the fence. Was it to keep the puppies in was it to keep the kids in well you know what he says it was multiple reasons and it was to keep the puppy in or keep the kids in keep the deer out so the deer don't eat all of the flowers.
So you've got a lot of flowers you are up here you got a lot of deer also a lot of turkeys and turkeys can fly right over top of that fence that's nothing. Anyway you got beautiful evergreen trees and this great entrance gate and all the trees are amazing. So you've got a beech here and you've got Maple and you've got Oak and you've got shagbark hickory and you've got sassafras and there some pine here. So anyway it's all beautiful gorgeous hardwoods and of course there's some poplar. In fact, these two are poplar this V is poplar trees - big, beautiful blooms in the spring. Can you imagine the colors in the fall? This is a special Artist Retreat, log cabin for sale on 200 acres.
[00:23:10] All electric place for your mowers and whatnot. And then wood splitter, they cut their own wood here. You don't have to have to cut wood. I mean you only have to burn wood. Right. But if you wanted to you've got certainly got enough was a two hundred acres. I guarantee you got enough trees that fall down and branches that break and stuff like that over throughout the year you'd never have to cut a life tree. So brick on the floor here. Lot of recycled, reclaimed stuff. Which one only is that a green thing to do? But also a nice thing to do. Also inexpensive and also usually much sturdier. And that's what this house is about in this great barn, about 36, 36, 40 by 40. Something like that. There's your riding trails. How cool is that? Beautiful, beautifully groomed riding trails again.

I'm a wood lover and this house is candyland. In my own house when I discovered there was hardwood under the carpet I ripped it up. All of it. Easier to clean and lasts FOREVER. Carpet wears, wood ages. BIG difference.

Love this house. I lived once for 18 years in a house by a sweetish builder. But never did the electric properly. But the house was great. Other than this warm and Casey. But Dad did my electric properly.. Every nook and cranny was used.
That would've been my dream property back in 1991 when I was starting my family. I had 6 kids under one roof at one point, but not for long. But, if I had a property like this, it probably would have been hard to get rid of them.

Downstairs where the stone flooring is that is would be the best place for everyone take their shoes off during the summer and take off they snowshoes during the winter that would be a great area they would be at the game room wanting to come in from the snow so they wouldn't mess up that beautiful flooring throughout the house

I really LOVE this home! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after watching your tour! Little surprises kept popping up out of nowhere. Since it's located near an artist community, I think that I would turn that extra space into a performance area/ practice room. You could also put in a small bar area where the bed is. It would be perfect for getting together with family or friends for a jam session and having a drink.

Brad, you are VERY talented and extraordinarily dedicated to your skill of showing properties. You sure bring out the dreams in a lot of us. I doubt I'll ever have a place this big, though it does increase my determination to have the house of my dreams, bringing the many designs into play on a smaller and more affordable scale.
Do you find good deals on old farm house and barn with land at great prices? I am looking now, but won't be ready for about six months. I'm downsizing and raising the money, while looking and dreaming. I'm in Georgia, but looking TN, KY, North Georgia or North Carolina Mountains. I'm gusessing it will be Tennessee as I can get more for my money there.

I love this house...but, please slow the camera movement down some so we could enjoy viewing your video. Absolutely gorgeous house but I would want my house 1/4 of the way up in the land not in the middle. That way i would have the rest of the land out back to play, hunt, whatever.. I would change a few things to suit my taste. Since I don't have kids, the grand kids room would become a theater. The garage would house my truck & my Harleys. Etc...

I thought I’d seen everything until this one ☝️. Brad I would have flown over immediately to view something like this. It’s an incredible home and lots of land to do just about anything you could dream of. I wish there was more video available for the exterior features and land usage. Despite being a little on the large side I’d just have to invite the family from Sweden 🇸🇪 and have a blast.
Obviously it’s worth considering air b&b and the possibility of a retreat. I think, given enough room for the downstairs semi bedroom I’d like to install a commercial kitchen or facility for the making of special creams that we currently sell in Europe. It’s so full of potential if only….😉🥂💫

I would rather have a tiny log cabin, facing one of the Great Lakes from a distance, and then have the time to do as I pleased instead of cleaning house all day long.

Here is a lengthy (sorry) reply I give to folks who ask about storms, weather, etc. Hope you benefit from it:
Couple things - 1st - we are nowhere near tornado alley - you can look that up. We do get some wind, but take a look at all those rickety tobacco barns on the tops of hills - they have been there 100 yrs - and still standing... Secondly, July and August are our hottest months - in the 80s. But everything is air conditioned, so it is 60s in the morning and night - and 80s in the peak of the day.
3rd - we came from NJ 30 yrs ago - here we enjoy two things that I like: it stays lighter, later - 9:30, its still light out - because we are so close to the next time zone - we like that.
4th - we also enjoy about 3 extra weeks of spring - and 3 extra weeks of fall. Which equates to 6 weeks less winter for me - I'm happy.
5th - we also enjoy average of 3.55" of rain per month - which keeps the grass green and the lakes and reservoirs full.

Lastly - a good, honest answer about snow…. Now some years, we get nothing. 2 times in the last 30 yrs I’ve been here, we’ve gotten 12” - but the average honest answer is: we get 2”-3”, 2-3 times per year and its gone in 2-3 days.

How do you keep it dusted and clean?
I've been wondering who is doing the pre cleanings for these properties. Whoever it is is doing a good job. They fold the towels perfectly and make the beds properly. Floors nicely polished too.
