There economy has major issues and with Americans locking their horns with them ,China is really suffering...there is massive unemployment in china as well .. The major economic sector of China is Construction and real estate which is suffering badly ... Also the subsidised goods they used to dump in countries are under strict scrutiny of WTO so they are laying low...
All banks in China is state owned that's why they are able to sustain till now ....US paralysed there 20 billion$ semiconductor industry over night with sanctions...
China you see is CCP propaganda version , which only shows european copied cityscape and buildings... There 10 provinces are super cash straped due to such massive debts accumulated due to overspending on such projects...
China's only USP is stealing American, Japanese tech and selling its knock off... which not gonna sustain now...
China can never compete with America in tech they are innovators and are leaps ahead from any other nation...
Just like whole of subcontinent majority of money in China is stuck in real estate as well.. in Pakistan you buy files, in china they buy flats in ghost cities where no one lives in hope that there will be a day when due to population that apartment complex will be sold out and they could make massive gains...

While I agree with whatever you said but I think China learnt a lot from stealing tech but now they are finally developing their indigenous tech especially in HSR , green energy and space , they have carefully and silently developed most of the lithium mining technology and own the cobalt mines in Africa , whilst I also agree that China ain’t a behemoth what people think it is but it can’t be taken lightly , just as you said US sanctions and Japan pumping money again into high tech manufacturing and R&D , has taken a toll on the Chinese economy apart from their own CCP government policies
America is becoming a shit hole day by day run by people who focus more on feelings rather than education.
