Hey bro! Amazing video ive learned alot from you. The other foil stamping video with resin pront was great too! What is the name of this machine called ? Ive tried to find it for so long, tried "foil press" without luck. Thank you!
My machine tolerances are not accurate enough to create the male and female dies. I would say most hobby machines wouldn't be able to do it, especially intricate shapes like letters
@@ThisDesignedThat Ah ok I have pretty good tolerances on mine so will give it a go. I really appreciate the reply thank you again for the great video !!!!
Hi Paul, Really, it's fascinating Could you please advise for these three questions? 1- How much time spent to hardened the epoxy? @ 2:20 2- Does the heat will affect to expedite the process? 3- And there is any side effect on the surface of the counter-part or its composition due to use of heat? Thanks
1 - I leave it overnight but your epoxy brand will give you a specific cure time, its usually 6-24 hours 2 - Heat will speed up the epoxy cure time I believe 3 - Not sure I understand your question
@@ThisDesignedThat I would like to thank you for your interest & respected reply And if you don't mind to send your email, I'll be grateful to you Because I already sent you an email on that one that's exist in description But may doesn't work
Hi John. Its polyurethane resin with a shore D rating of 72. Its incredibly tough. No reason why you couldn't use cheaper epoxy or polyester resin to do this though.
Hi Paul, wondering if you would be able provide your email, I’d be interested in having a die made to emboss our company presentation folders. Thanks, Joel
Amazing job like always !!!!
Thankyou!
amazing job! I've been following your progress for quite some time now.
Thank you very much!
3:30 - Me: How on earth could one possibly align those two parts in a press so they line up properly?
You: Hold my beer. LOL
Lol
😁
Could you share what epoxy you are using? Thanks
What's the benefit of going in two steps here, instead of just making the negative in metal? Is the metal unsuitable for the press?
It's very difficult to get the tolerances tight enough on a low cost CNC machine that will produce an accurate positive and negative

Hot Foil Platen Press 👍
Great tutorial. But what if someone wanted am intricate artwork to be embossed on paper ? Will the same process ?
generally, yes, it is the same process
Are you able to share what kind of CNC setup you're using here to cut the aluminium? (assuming it's aluminium and not steel!)
Take a look at my CNC playlist, should cover most things - th-cam.com/play/PLThNZEmqjs3kP6h8Ynm7TI6QWgbg4NCqK.html
Hi great video, I am about to make one on the cnc but was wondering why not cut out the male part out of alu as well? Cheers!

Would it be possible to use that clamping jig for die cutting small boxes?
Im not sure you could make something sharp enough with this method to cut card. Usually you lay a blade in a groove to make the die cutter
Paul, quick question - how hard is the polyurethane used for the counter-die? Is it in the rubbery Shore A range or a more rigid Shore D? Thanks.

Hi! What was sprayed on the metal plate? Also, what type of epoxy was used?
Mould release spray, link is in description
I used polyurethane resin, but epoxy or polyester resin will also work fine
@@ThisDesignedThat thanks for replying, will check out the mould release spray. Will this work on small details or small text?
@@alvint4944 Yes it will work very well with small text, get a good quality mould release spray, it really helps!
@@ThisDesignedThat thanks for the tip!
