    Brilliant . Thank you for the upload. It is interesting that to get to the up line from platforms 1 & 2 of Blackpool North takes you almost to Devonshire Road bridge. So you could say the station throat starts there .

    • @silverviking33
      @silverviking33 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it normally takes several years of training before a driver is passed out for a route. it is not just a question of learning the route, he has to know it off by heart because every situation needs to be known in case of an emergency.

    Blackpool station at last looks a clean modern station with it's new electrifcation system installed? It took long enough ? Next the complicion of the waverly rought from Edingbourgh to Carlisle? They have this section started from Edingbourgh Waverly to to tweedmouth finished now finish it off to Carlisle ? Or what's the point? Or is just another waste of taxpayers money 💰 also a good divirinary if needed

    I do hope a few pacers are spared could be ideal for branch lines heritage lines etc ? rough riding at times but ideal for certain routes? On the rail network why scrap ? just mothball some . For further use ? Rail buses reliable ? What's the problem?

    • @paulwilkinson9393
      @paulwilkinson9393  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      70humdinger
      EMU are scheduled to start May 20th, a cascade process will then happen until the CL142 units are redundant and then scrapped. The old branch line at Poulton is the old Fleetwood docks branch, been closed as long as I can remember

    • @dpallant
      @dpallant 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The junction to Fleetwood at that point hadnt been used since around 1999 and was then relaid quite a few years ago. The new junction was never used and then was completely removed last year. There is a heritage railway that wants to run trains on the Fleetwood to Poulton le Fylde tracks but they will probably now require a third platform at Poulton le Fylde and a new link onto the main line would have to be built if necessary.

    • @johnhardman3
      @johnhardman3 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dpallant The realignment for high-speed running of the curved track through Poulton at the former junction means it's unlikely that points will be reinstated there: whatever happens, the former Fleetwood "branch" will have to remain isolated from the Preston-Bkackpool North line.
