Relaxing Uphill Skiing to Ambient Music

- Ambient music by @LittleAmbientMachine to uphill skiing. Ever wonder what it feels like to ski tour up a mountain? 95% of backcountry skiing is hiking up the mountain. This video shows you what it is like. In this video I filmed myself ski touring uphill. The experience is peaceful, beautiful, quiet. The sights and sounds are unmatched, you can hear the falling of the snow, you see the wildlife if you are lucky, and you get a huge sense of accomplishment when you reach the summit. The ski down is wonderful as well, pure powder after a good storm. I hope this video gives you a taste of what it feels like to travel uphill on skis. This was all filmed in the Idaho backcountry.

Hey dan, how do you avoid avalanches in the backcountry, seeing that you go on most tours alone and don't have a partner to help you out in case something goes wrong?
I avoid avalanche terrain if the danger is high.

That burn area from the 4 corners fire might ski real nice. Mufasa once said to Simba, "anywhere the light touches is yours." You can apply that to backcountry, "anywhere there is snow, it is skiable."No real beta in these parts. Just go up and you will find it. Cascade area looks awesome near the peaks. I would just look out your window and decide what you want to ski that day and do it.
