I was listening to Westwood back in 1985. He introduced public enemy ll cool j, Eric b and rakim 1987 in Hammersmith (my first hip hop concert). He has definitely pushed hip hop into Britain. As a dj he is not good. As a promoter of hip hop he has been excellent 😜

I was listening to Westwood back in 1985. He introduced public enemy ll cool j, Eric b and rakim 1987 in Hammersmith (my first hip hop concert). He has definitely pushed hip hop into Britain. As a dj he is not good. As a promoter of hip hop he has been excellent 😜

Turn of the 90s had Busta and LONS on his show. You knew even then that Busta was gonna be big... on another note Run DMC were pretty big pre Westwood via Walk This Way with Aerosmith.

You had no idea how much of an impact Westwood had to us outside of London.I remember in 94 when there was no proper Hip Hop (or internet) on the radio (it had been nearly 10 years since National Fresh) and we had Funk Flex cutting up super new Hip Hop,it was fuckin ace.

I Remember tuning in to Westwood in 95 when biggie came on. Name me a person bar 2pac that Westwood has not had links with or on his show. Charlie sloth is a baby compared to Westwood. Regardless of his persona or love or hate him he has done more for the culture then anyone in the UK.
