How about researching what was different at the Narendra Modi Stadium Coldplay concert and what lessons can other venues learn from the organizers of the concert.
I attended Coldplay ' concert in Navi Mumbai's DY Patil stadium on 19th Jan. The venue was impeccable with numerous entry gates, no crowding ample number of clean washrooms, with food being served on stands. The sound and view was good from all seats. The only bottlenecks I could find were payment gateway and beverage sales. But India certainly has venues worthy of big concerts. Diljeet paaji needs to choose venues properly.
Yes I was impressed with the planning too, no long queue, washrooms were clean, there were temporary washrooms as well and multiple gates, bms team did good job organising the mumbai show
It’s not only about venues it’s about the management by organisers as well. Why Coldplay show is hit in India but not Diljit or others. Moreover if they will be selling more tickets then they can support
I attended Coldplay concert in ahemdabad and it was smooth as butter, Clean washroom, perfect crowd management, perfect sound setup and amazing light show. This podcast discusses every problems which weren't present in my experience.
Well the Coldplay concert was well organised. There's always a scope of improvement, but I did not face any issues to attend this one! Very good management.
Went to ahemdabad comcert and it was perfect for me Easy entry, amazing crowd, clean washroom, exit was lil hard but ok no problem Overall best concert experience
Just came back from the Coldplay concert although most points you’ve said are correct, I would like to say things are already improving as the organisers have done a great job with Coldplay concert. Yes there were a few misses and scope of improvement specially in payments, but overall it was very well organised.
Interesting discussion. Along with all the requirements you listed, our people require civic sense. Our people don't know how to keep public places clean. We are truly backward in cleanliness. 😑😑
The lack of civic sense is one of the most disgraceful problems plaguing our country. There’s only so much the government can do when the people themselves refuse to act responsibly. Vimal gutkha stains defile our walls, footpaths, trains, and every other public space, turning India into a filthy hellhole. It’s not just disgusting-it’s a national shame!
Also the Hotels that have already been booked and paid for, the Hotel Adminstration simply threaten customers to pay 10x the amount if not it will be cancelled. There should be regulations in these as well.
I don't understand why but clean washroom is lowest priority in India which is actually basis need of any human. Businesses, government and many people don't want to spend money on clean washrooms. Most of the aggressively developing and developed countries in the world, people would have easy access to clean washroom in every other shop depending on location.
I am not referring to just availability of public toilets but also cleaning them hourly basis based on population density and tourist location. People who use the toilet will not clean it or refill the hand soap. Also the public toilets need to be available in big shops too like Malls have.

But sir the problem is that to build a stadium of that scale generally the government has to spend over 120 to 150 odd million dollars which is not economically viable since you cannot book the occupancy of stadium daily and instead of developing such a stadium for a specific event the government should build (my opinion only ) a multi sport stadium which has the capability to host concerts , shows etc which might be economically viable for both public and for revenue generation , what do you think about my perspective please share your opinion 😅

You will be pleased to know that. Government of India has started taking steps to build big Concert halls and infrastructures starting 2025. They will take 6 to 10 years to build. But it’s a start.
The Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad was exceptionally well-organized. One of the standout aspects was the absence of alcohol, which added to the overall positive experience. Although I do drink occasionally, I found myself enjoying the concert more actively and attentively without it. The lack of alcohol seemed to contribute to the event's smooth management. Additionally, free Bisleri water and cups were provided, which was a thoughtful touch for attendees. However, there were some challenges after the concert, particularly with transportation. Despite back-to-back Metro trains being available at the stadium station, they were insufficient to accommodate the large crowd. Auto-rickshaw drivers were charging exorbitant rates-₹1,500 for an 8-kilometer ride-which was unreasonable. Another issue was the lack of hotel availability. Even for those willing to pay inflated rates, finding a room was nearly impossible. That said, most other aspects of the event were commendable. There were no long food queues, and the washrooms were reasonably clean. However, female attendees faced some struggles with restroom facilities. The only other downside was the behavior of some police personnel, who appeared unhelpful and displayed a hint of bias toward people from other states. Overall, apart from a few logistical shortcomings, the concert was a well-executed and enjoyable experience.
Great video! I agree with most points, except for the one on alcohol. With the recent Coldplay concert, things seem to be improving and should continue evolving. Regarding alcohol and general behavior, I believe the real need for improvement lies with the Indian audience itself, particularly in terms of civic sense and responsible consumption. Another key aspect that was missed is India’s potential to attract international visitors for concerts, turning these events into tourism magnets. Just as Abu Dhabi draws global audiences, India can do the same-bringing in foreign earnings while also retaining the money that currently flows out for such experiences abroad.
Thanks for the great content . Its time for India to stop the 'jugad culture' for concert infrastructure & start priorising to fix these issues then no one can stop India to become next global leader .
A truly effective government should prioritize infrastructure development, such as constructing proper roads and modern stadiums to host concerts. This would attract international artists, generate revenue, and boost the economy. Instead, the current focus on freebies and religious agendas is hindering India's development, which is not merely slow, but stagnant.

I agree with you about the difference between concert venues in India and other countries like Wembley stadium. I have experienced numerous concerts in different countries and currently Indian events are no match for the events abroad. Although another major difference that you could have included is the difference between how the crowd behaves in both the places. The Indian crowd does not behave in an organized and civil manner at all. It gets borderline scary at times. The experience could be a whole lot better if the crowd also understands the importance of civic sense and cooperation. A lot of people might get offended by this comment but it's true, we all know that at some level. Take this delightful crowd at a concert from London for example: th-cam.com/video/TwC0Db7oerM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=l1o-h5QCcObc6M57 We Indians need to learn from them big time.
I remember when BTS held a concert in Sofi stadium in LA and crowd managment was hella bad but bts army took it to themself and we all stayed late for traffic managment through our light sticks and hopefully it went well.
"Instead of constantly comparing our country to others, shouldn’t we focus on improving what we already have? Yes, we know our sector is unorganized, but this is just the beginning. Comparing our concerts and stadiums to those in other countries is fine for inspiration, but we also need to consider our own resources and infrastructure. Let’s think about how these events can create opportunities for middle-class and lower-middle-class individuals in India. If done right, this could be a game changer for our economy. What are your thoughts?"
When comparing infrastructure in India with Western countries, it’s important to understand that there is ample land available there. In contrast, India’s dense population makes it challenging to build similar infrastructure within city limits. Such projects would need to be located on the outskirts of major cities to remain cost-effective. However, this raises concerns about accessibility, as people may not be willing to travel such long distances. Even if this infrastructure is built, what happens to these venues after the main acts, like Coldplay or Diljit, have performed? Will these locations be suitable for other types of shows, and will people be willing to attend events featuring artists with a smaller fan base?
just look at the Kendrick's concert last year in Kia Forum, that concert venue is a beast, India cant build that type of structure plus there is lot of black selling of tickets, bad management or clear looting of tickets by the selling partner.
India has so many opportunities in terms of music venues and tourism that government just needs to build proper infrastructure for these ans then money will flow like anything. Sadly, neither the opposition nor the ruling party is interested in this.

Brother, there are many problems and issues that you might have missed, such as corruption. For example, we have to pay the police department just to obtain a license, pay the municipality, and even the traffic department. We are required to obtain NOCs from nearby property owners, secure a public performance license, and pay advance taxes to the entertainment department before the event. These are just a few of the many challenges like language related issues especially in South India States we even have to pay local leaders if we don't pay those people come at the event venue start creating problems and protest we face. Even police officer don't do anything they don't take any kind of serious are necessary action I wanted to highlight this as my background is in the event industry, having started my career in 2014.
agree…but bhai you also need to mention that water bottle in Wembley costs 20 pounds…red-bull 30-40 pounds… we just started and long way to go…i am sure we will improve…
I have worked as an event manager for around 3 years. Your analysis about the regulations are on point, premissions and bribing are the biggest challanges in organzing any event. But to some extent I disagree about the infrastructure point. Stadiums can be used as concert venue but the problem of not getting drinking water, food, parking and available clean washroom are mostly from the management side. For example during any international or ipl match people experience these problems at any stadium but during 2016 T20 World Cup and 2023 Cricket World Cup these were extremely well managed and the experience was international level. In my view organizers generally fail to understand the consumers, they treat a high ticket customer same as a freeloader where as in reality you need to invest most amount of money and workforce into providing the best services. You can take the Coldplay concert as an example. It was planned well ahead and the resources were utilized to provide the best experience rather than just making money for the artist and organizer.
Thankyou sunburn goa for being an exception. You were fantastic in management throughout 3 days. Loved every second in the festival. Other concert management should learn from you guys.
Great video! You're doing an excellent job. I have a couple of suggestions to enhance the channel's reach and branding: 1. Consider using 'थिंक स्कूल' or a Hindi equivalent in the channel name or content to connect more effectively with the core Hindi-speaking audience. 2. For the logo, inverting the colors might work better-using white for the brand name/logo and a darker shade for the background could make it more visually appealing and impactful. Keep up the amazing work!
I just attended one concert in India when Armin Van Buuren came. Everything apart from the performance was trash! Smelly washrooms, dogs roaming around. Just a couple of dustbins which were overflowing. The food stalls randomly shot up the food prices for crass food. The mobile towers were so overloaded that mobile network was not working. And autos were charging Rs 500-1000 per kilometre. It was a really shitty experience
Bots buying or black tickets sale were done even in football world cup (recent qatar football - I attended it) I couldn't get famous games and has to buy in third party site for expensive rates! So not all countries even European have restrictions on black tickets sale
Government toh bada bada bolti hai na ki hum 10 saal ka 20 saal ka vision leke chalte hai toh agar chalte hi hai toh unko pata nahi hai ki music industry se itna revenue aayega toh concert ke liye space allocate kare, good infrastructure build kare, dusri countries se sikhe jaha se concert start hua hai. Sirf tax konse konse way mein public se collect karna hai sirf wahi aata hai or vision bhi wahi hai.
Coldplay ki highest ticket price 35k hai. Jahan Diljit ka highest 20k hai. Koi bhi singer 35k ya 40k ki ticket sale karake ache concert kara skte hai. But then unke fan face karage.

Even police officer don't do anything they don't take any kind of serious are necessary action I wanted to highlight this as my background is in the event industry, having started my career in 2014.
Oki then, let's resolve it within the next decade ends...!❤
agree…but bhai you also need to mention that water bottle in Wembley costs 20 pounds…red-bull 30-40 pounds… we just started and long way to go…i am sure we will improve…
it would be better for India to not have any music concerts. The amount of damage it does to local region and environment overall is cunning.
#ArijitSingh live Concert ❤❤❤
Been to coldplay Mumbai concert too, the experience was very different from Daljit,
So it’s clearly a ability issue,
At least it was error free
Ahmedabad did it ! We dit it !
Thankyou sunburn goa for being an exception. You were fantastic in management throughout 3 days. Loved every second in the festival. Other concert management should learn from you guys.
Great video! You're doing an excellent job. I have a couple of suggestions to enhance the channel's reach and branding:
What about the organisers themselves selling tickets and increasing prices in phases?
What are you saying. In outside countries they also rent sound & light. For mega shows. Pehle se laga nhi hota ye sab.
Hi Thinkschool, we are trying to buld a startup for this industry, can you please share the sources that you have used for research.
Who said the concert in Ahmedabad was awesome . Thinkschool there is a difference between theory and practical
Indian government should stop spending on free bees
I enjoy Coldplay
I just attended one concert in India when Armin Van Buuren came. Everything apart from the performance was trash! Smelly washrooms, dogs roaming around. Just a couple of dustbins which were overflowing. The food stalls randomly shot up the food prices for crass food. The mobile towers were so overloaded that mobile network was not working. And autos were charging Rs 500-1000 per kilometre. It was a really shitty experience
Clickbait used by thinkschool😮
Seeing a lot of positive comments about organization in Coldplay conserts. I guess organisers are also to be blamed not just infra and so on
Very good video
Ahmedabad coldplay concert was blockbuster...this is not the case in Ahmedabad..Ahmedabad is capable of any big concert with efficiency
just like SEZ we need SCZ ...Special Concert and Entertainment zone
Bots buying or black tickets sale were done even in football world cup (recent qatar football - I attended it) I couldn't get famous games and has to buy in third party site for expensive rates! So not all countries even European have restrictions on black tickets sale
Diljit GOAT
How Arijit Singh are doing concert with more than 50k people woth ticket?
In this case I like sunburn. Sunburn management was amazing.
Government toh bada bada bolti hai na ki hum 10 saal ka 20 saal ka vision leke chalte hai toh agar chalte hi hai toh unko pata nahi hai ki music industry se itna revenue aayega toh concert ke liye space allocate kare, good infrastructure build kare, dusri countries se sikhe jaha se concert start hua hai.
Sirf tax konse konse way mein public se collect karna hai sirf wahi aata hai or vision bhi wahi hai.
In our country where there r many things which we have to do in priority, we want to focus on concert stadiums
Popcorn jesi basic items per 18 % gst hai toh concerts toh luxury me ata hai
Checkout quakearena hyderabad. Its a indoor concert arena
Diljit doesn't know how to manage his own concert he only knows how to sell tickets in black , coldplay proved it wrong
Coldplay ki highest ticket price 35k hai.
Jahan Diljit ka highest 20k hai.
Koi bhi singer 35k ya 40k ki ticket sale karake ache concert kara skte hai.
But then unke fan face karage.
More than infrastructure it’s basic civic sense that we Indians lack
First Indian artist to perform at Coachella DILJIT DOSANJH 🔥
goa had a chance here to jump back
Bro i was even planning to visit mumbai to watch arijit show but the cost and other issues made me change my plan to visit abu dhabi. True problem need solution from indian gov
Why just blame the government? It's so damn funny when no one talks or educates about civic sense!!!
Bro u got your answer after successful Ahmedabad event.
Trueee
THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE SHOULD BUILD AT LEAST 4 STATE OF THE ART GLOBALLY TOP NOTCH CONCERT STADIUMS IN THE EAST, WEST, NORTH & SOUTH.
