Like the ethics and stuff? And the fact that you're colonizing places that already live there? RimWorld kind of does that, you crash-land on a planet and then most of the natives try to kill you/chase you off. You can even enslave people with the Ideology DLC. But you design your own religion/culture, and if your religion is cool with slavery your workers will actually get sad if there aren't any slaves. Or there's Frostpunk, which is a game designed around using horrible and brutal laws to try to lead a settlement through a new ice age. You can institute child labor, but that makes everybody sad and more likely to riot. But frankly, they really can't design a game around the horrors of colonization where you play as the colonizer. They'd have to balance the cheap labor of slaves, with the real-world minor downsides to the system. For the colonizer, slavery was a good thing. It provides cheap labor without any rights, the abolitionists were a minor annoyance at most, and even the most successful slave rebellion of colonization, the Maroons, became a willing vassal of the British who actively hunted escaped slaves for the British
To fully clinch that dad joke the punchline should be "in medieval times you'd run into Lance a lot"
I kinda want a colony sim that kinda, makes you struggle with the reality of colonisation? Like that'll be cool.
Rimworld is a start lol
Reality of colonization, howso?

Also the game "Banished"
@@dozercole and the "newer version" of banished is "settlement survival"
This looks like Anno 1404 meets Rimworld
That was a very non-relevant dad joke, considering my name is Lance.
lovely gameplay

You had me at Anno

2:51 she says that because the governor is bla...
Oh man, Nook. You'll never lose me, but these colony builders are starting to blur a bit. If it wasn't you playin em, I'd bounce.
I literally only watch him to decide which colony builder I want to try next.
